haha, today i had my first verifiable bluejack..
previous to now, my attempts just seemed to go nowhere, usually an "unable to connect" msg.

I was walking down from brighton station, behind this chunky dude and his fat-assed chick, when he pulls out a doorstop 6310 to take a call.

Quicker than a greased monkey i whip out my T68 and do a search. "6310iMark" pops up. Seeing as we are walking along, and im only the one within zapping distance, i know the hapless techno-weenie is mine for the jacking.

Up comes my contact "hello fatty" and i send it off.
By this time his call has ended, and just as it looks like im out of luck again, he looks at his fone (must be on silent mode, cause i dont hear anything).

I know its worked cause his shoulders suddenly kinda sagged, like he's taking a big shit or something and he slows down.
But its obvious the lunk is really puzzled. even his girl looks at him concerned. by now im starting to catch up, and seeing as he's built like a brick shit-house, i figure its best i put my tool in my pocket, and walk past quickly, smelling of roses.

By this time im trying to suppress my smirk, but the look on his face is classic nokia user what-the-f**k.
Boy, this is a hoot!
Man, i need bag one of these every day!

Well, a friend of mine who has a P800 one day told me 'bout this thread, and then we went downtown (this was in the middle of the night) to a Phone-shop who leave some phones on at night. We (me with my T610 and he with his P800) flooded the only phone being on and with bluetooth (a Siemens S55) with msgs saying "Buy SonyEricsson!" and "Sony Ericsson rulez!". We send perhaps 15-20 of them...

Wonder what the salesmen thought in the morning?!

Love Sony Ericsson

Talking about jacking stuff in shops, if anyone is operating in Brighton, theres a computer hooked up with bluetooth at the Dixons in Churchill Sq. (ID is "Dixons.co.uk computer" - hey! how imaginative! )

I've tried a few times to connect but no cigar, anyway, the dipshit shop noddies always seem to follow me around when i walk in there.

I found myself in the middle of a lot of Bluetooth enabled Nokias today, as well as a few unknown phones.

I think it was a group of Mormons or something, I'm not sure.

I saw one Asian girl using a 3650, so I immediatly got my T610, had a fight with the stupid keylock system and tried to send my 'The Matrix has you' contact (need to come up with something more original).

My phone found lots of phones all of a sudden, three 3650's, a 7650 and two unknown phones (everytime I did a search a different combination would come up, probably because the people in the group were walking around a bit).

Anyway, I couldn't send my contact to any of them, they all timed out while connecting, really frustrating

Today I managed to do my first bluejacking! I had been out with a couple of friends and we were sitting in a (sort of a) cafe. Just feeling a little bored (since the girls had gone home, it was later than 01:00), I took my T610 out of its pouch (the old one, the one I also used with my T65) and did a scan. Wow! Three phones found! Though the first one was one of the girls' T68i to whom I had sent a picture of herself half an hour ago.
Never mind, the other two were "Nokia7650" and "3650". Stupid brick users, they don't even take the time to change their phone's name to something more original. I changed my phone name from "iPhone (T610) : dsc :" to "Club Nokia". Tried to send a contact named "Γειά σου Ρούλη!" to the 7650, a greek equivalent of "Hello there, {insert any name here}". It was sent though I couldn't notice anyone acting strangely. Then I sent "The Matrix has you." and voila!, a man about 25 to 30 jumped out of his chair! He'd better not have done so. However, since the music was loud and we were about 3 tables apart, I could not hear what he was telling. I kept sending three more messages to him, "virus detected" and "antivirus deactivated" as well as "formatting memory". He was looking around all the time, too bad I couldn't take a photo of him. He shut off his mobile afterwards and I kept laughing quietly...
I did the same with the other found phone as well, changing the name to "You can't escape us." though this time I heard an audible alert when the second contact was received. The owner was a boy about 16 or so, younger than me, with an ugly t-shirt. You konw, those stupid things they call "trendy". You'll get it, I thought. I sent him the same contacts, but now as well wanted to send a photo! I pretended I wanted to go to the toilet to pass in front of him. He was at the time busy, talking to his girlfriend (so I thought). The first photo was of poor quality, so I chanced a second returning to my seat. It wasn't as disappointing, so I named it "We CAN see you." and also created two more contacts, both about being watched by the Matrix, and sent them. He was looking awkward, not knowing what was happenning to his so-trendy phone. Time for the pic now. Too glad he was too stupid or curious (can't tell what ) to accept it. That was it! my:se: vs. brick owners 2-0!
He kept on looking towards the direction where the photo was taken. There were some kids at his age and he went over and talked to them. This loud music is uncomfortable as proven... again, couldn't hear what he was saying. He seemed not to be able to sort out what was happenning.
STUPID owners who just buy phones because they're Nokias and because everyone else buys them -a vicious circle.
Had to leave by the time, it was late and I wanted to share this over here . Didn't let the chance of another bluejacking on the way home escape me. Since my friends (brick owners too) had enjoyed this "experience" as much as I did, we were walking slowly, very slowly with my mobile scanning all the time. At some point a "Άγνωστη..." appeared (it means "Unknown"). Three at a single time, that was out of my imagination! This time it was a bit difficult to find out who the owner was so I sent a contact about the Matrix again. Now I could go to sleep calm, serene and happy...
Going to try more tomorrow and the day after and the day after that...
The above incidents took place in Trikala, Greece.

I also suggest we keep tracks of bluejacking phones in a way similar to the one I use below. Maybe someone will be able to create a better template than mine. I only give the idea!

___________
experience: First one!. phones bluejacked: "Nokia7650", "3650", "unknown".

Lucky you..

i already told u about my experience w coworker. that did not feel a real bluejacking..
last friday i went to beach.. on the way visited a supermarket for sixpack:D

there i was w my friend , bought a sixpack slipped em to my backpack and an extra bottle for a walk to beach..

while i paid for my beers and waitin for my friend i browsed the ether for some bluetooth waves.. and found 6310 or somthing.. quickly sent a contact.. but lost that device walked around and tried to find it again.. and voila it was oon my screen again.. my friend looked at me like I am some freak or whatever..

so i lost that ohone again and we walked away.. me explainin my weird acting.. he opened his beer and asked, where is mine(the extra one for a walk) I had to run back and luckly it was waitin for me

so the point is that u can loose girlfriends while addicted to bluejacking and you can also loose your beer..
its a dangerous business:D

vr@ still waitin for his first real bluejackin experience..

Posted by DiNar0
@tsiris. COOOOL. well done.
@vr same here. can't seem to find proper victims yet. and when I did, connection failed. damn. gotta keep the spirit up. heh, good hunting everyone!

Posted by __spc__
When you get 'Connection failed' - keep trying! Sometimes it takes me 2 or 3 attempts!

Have you ever had one of those bluetooth moments when you wish you were quicker on the button?

Take me for instance, a few weeks ago...
There I was, in an HMV store, shoulder to shoulder with the great unwashed masses, trying to find a few bargains in the CD sale, when i figured that there must be more than a few Cronkia users amongst the crowd with bluetooth turned on.

So, I did the usual search and picked up three fools straight away, but as u can guess, had no luck with those. Undaunted I did another scan in another part of the shop a few minutes later and...
GODDAMN!
My T68 nearly shot out of my hands like a wet bar of soap, my palms were that sweaty! I was staring at the phone name "Wet C*nt"!

My fingers started flying, trying to bring up my special contact: "12 Incher" to send. I was sure any girl who called herself that would have me peeling my banana like an ape
All the while my head is rubber-necking the shop, trying to spot any nearby girl who I thought might look like she possessed such a thing

But alas, even after all that effort, sweaty palms included, and a few more scans at various spots in the shop she managed to elude me...
Now I find myself stopping by at that shop whenever Im in the area, just in case...

And that is quite likely the only kind of brick owner I would ever like to get to "know".

I think im doing something wrong?

When i search for a bluetooth device it will show up, but I cant connect to it, it asks for the pass word?

I get the feeling that I am doing something wrong, in order to send a contact to another phone that has bluetooth? can anyone help me out?

Posted by shithappens
wat u were trying to do was effectively a search for devices. You then attempted to connect or pair with the device.

For jackin, u can do a search but that's just to identify the availablility of other devices within the vicinity of your phone.

Wat u want to do is send a contact, sms, note, pix to the other device. In which case, u should already haf the contact, sms, note, pix ready. Select the item, press option key and choose send via , the phone will perform a search and list the devices available. Choose the targeted device and click ok to send......

happy hunting.....

i was gonna read all of the posts first then reply........but i just cant wait!!! -------> which means i dont know if this has been posted before.....

at 3:30am i got pranked by a rude woman which hung up the phone on me.......the first thing i did was quickly check her number by ''1471'' (in uk).......the daft women did leave her number!!! (landline too:-D)

i saved the number in my phone naming ''prick''

the following day i went to ''trafford centre'' in manchester (a mall) and did a quick search for my bluetooth and a 6310i came up!!

i sent the ''prick'' contact successfully and now im hoping that person will prank her!!

i've now changed the contact to ''prank this prick'' so people have more of a chance to prank him/her

i dont know if this can be called bluejack but im pretty proud because its my first time~

so if theres anyone u hate and u've got their number, spread it by bluetooth !!!

ps is ajack still reading this thread? cos i havent read the whole thread yet

I've been trying for a while to bluejack someone (anyone) in the office, and managed it yesterday (tee hee)

First I set my bluetooth name to be 'Nokia Messaging' (otherwise I might get rumbled as lots of people know I have a P800!)

I'd seen a N*kia 6310 going in and out of range for a good 10 minutes, and finally succeeded in sending a 'Hello' contact to it. Just as my boss's boss(!) walks past my desk, his phone beeps the 'new message' tone and he stops by the photocopier to read it. Then looks around, confused.

I pretend not to notice (and not to smile!!!)

I bet he's still wondering what the hell happened....!! hee hee!

My first blast of friendly fire this morning - my P800 hit a T610, kapow! ....must've been a newly convertd Blokia user, still getting to grips with his new gadget!

Posted by masseur
You're lucky. The only things I ever seem to find are loads of 6310i

Posted by __spc__
I agree - 6310i's are the most common jack fodder, though I hit a P800 recently (ha! ha! Andy - you should've known better, turn to auto, instead of playing chess!), and a 7650 that afternoon too - ahhh, the beauty of SMan's 'proximity sweep', and it's jack log!!! I also pinged an 8910i a couple of days ago and some guy's PDA...

Like you say, mostly 6310i's though ....

Posted by BOSSHOGG
@freakynuts, sorry to say mate, but i viol you'll find it was another esato member. Someone said they were going to name they're phone wet n waiting, plenty of other people said they'd try the same thing. You've just been had by another esato member:-D what are the chances eh? Small world.

since i got my t610 i have had bt on hoping to get bluejacked myself and no luck so far

Posted by Lunkan
So let me get this clear:
Nokia phones get a popup saying something like "Accept incomming picture/sound/vCard/Note" and SE phones just accepts it and shows it in the screen?

Or am I wrong?

Posted by __spc__
You're wrong - and probably need to go towards the top of this thread for the explanation!

For phones, is either OFF, ON, AUTO, or DISCOVERABLE (which lasts three minutes). By default, is OFF.

For Nokia phones (not sure what their operation mode options are) is by default ON.

When you bluejack, either from to Nokia, or vice versa, the recipient/victim will receive a pop-up saying 'Receive incoming Contact' or something like that - then Yes/No will determine what then happens...

The point is that most Nokia users seem unknowing that they're visible to any device that scans for other devices, whereas as users are not vulnerable, as their is by default OFF.

For phones, ON is for paired devices only (e.g. headsets) and will not be visible by other devices, while AUTO works only when the user wants to send/receive a file. OFF is obvious, while DISCOVERABLE renders you like the Nokia user - visible!

Does that help (I think it's right, and no doubt if it isn't, someone will correct me....!)

Posted by Lunkan
Thanks spc!
Don't have my T610 here right now but I think the "Auto" was removed in the T610 but do exist in the T68.

What information about my me or my phone is shown to the person beeing bluejacked? The name - only?

Going to do some serious bluejacking now!

Posted by f1fan111
got my first Bluejack today YAY with my Ericsson T68 sent a contact to Phone didn't hear anything go off but it said it was sent and that was just walking along in a shopping centre.

Wish i could find more people to bluejack

Posted by o44wen
after months of searching i finally go my first buejack on the 6th July on the ferry.

I always keeps forgeting when i am in crowded places to do a search.
Well i was on the ferry and go a little bored so i done a serahc and found 3 Nokia phones but only one of them would allow me to send stuff. I had fun. I sent all my pictures and all my ringtones and then i started to send him contacts with messages like "how are you" "the ferry is rough todo". It was fun. The chap was sitting right next to me but i don't think he knew it was me because he kept standing up and looking around himself. I had my back to him and a friend was in front of me watching him.

Then 2 days ago when i came back to uni i found a P800 in the library and started sending him stuff but then he must've switched off bluetooth cause after the 5th/6th thing it kept failing.

Last night in the niteclub i found a nokia but the things i was sending kept failing.

I get a rush when i find a phone. It's brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!1

@__SPC__:

The sad part is, since the release of P800 or newer models with bluetooth, the options for bluetooth are: OFF, AUTO, ON and DISCOVERABLE. By default it is OFF though, but the three (3) minutes discoverable has been removed. Not that I care, but it is. So, these users, who switch on DISCOVERABLE mode must remember to switch it back off. Sad but true.

Ohh... NOk*a sux...

Cheers,

Posted by __spc__
@ajack
Thanks for that info about Discoverable; it never occurred to me to check the manual, I just assumed it would the same as for my old T68i.

@Lunkan
No information about your phone is sent - just make sure you send a jack Contact (i.e. one with your jack message in, and no numbers)...and make damn sure you don't send YOUR contact!!

Steven.

Posted by BOSSHOGG
:-D@freaky. Here's how to really freak someone out by bluejacking, find your victim by sending a blank contact, just put a full stop in the fields. Once you eyeball your victim, wait till a suitable moment, relocate and take a subtle front on picture of your victim a few minutes later. Relocate out of their sight and send them their own picture followed by a 'we're watching' message or something. Don't do it to a female tho, they wouldn't be able to handle it.

Posted by Sander-
Bosshog i dont understand what u are saying? U can view people's images through BT?

Posted by BOSSHOGG
Once you have taken a picture you can press the option button on that image and choose to send it via bluetooth. Then after that just send a standard contact with we're watching.

Posted by Sander-
Owww you mean take a picture of your victim with your camera i thought steal their background image and send it to them...

(my english sucks)

Posted by BOSSHOGG
:-)

Posted by __spc__
@BOSSHOGG

Surely this'll only work if the victim's phone is the same or higher spec than yours? For example, a photo taken on my P800 would just 'Send Fail' to a T68i....wouldn't it?
