Can't wait till I can use this nice feature as well

@cyanx7:

I see somebody is having fun bluejacking(tm) Nokia phones.

@mscarrot:

So far, the best places to bluejack a brick (ie. Nok*a) is at:
1. Mobile phone stores (expecially Nok*a -- this is by design )
2. Airports (especially in the arrival halls... please don't do it in a plane!)
3. Movie theatres
4. Pubs

Posted by shithappens
had a very friendly encounter with a p800 user @ the airport this morning...as usual i did a bt search and it came out with this:

super duper p800

i then quickly set a contact with the title "Great phone. Excellent choice" and set it off....i then left my handset bt on and imagine to my surprise when the return message came via bt saying:

Assume u r using SE coz SE rocks!

This can only happen b/w SE users coz nokia owners haf IQ of a brick....hahahahahahaha....unfortunate that i never got to meet the user of the p800, but whoever he/she is, my conclusion to his/her message is "DARN RIGHT U ARE!!!"

Posted by NokiaKilla
Agree! SE really rocks.

Posted by tidytrev
well this thread has convinced me that i need a t68,im gonna get 1 as soon as i get paid!!!

Posted by tidytrev
or has anyone got the bt attachment 4 the t300 if so does it work as good as having it in the phone??

Posted by Freeeeak!
Is there any other use for bluetooth other than bluejacking? although it sounds like much fun, I just got a T300 and I'm wondering if it's worth returning it & getting a T68i just for the BT.

Posted by tidytrev
i think thats what im gona do,but i like my polyphonics and games to much! mite just keep both

Posted by cyanx7
@tidytrev:

in any case don't marry the t300 yet!!!

Uses for BT? Best for using the phone as a modem with laptop, especially when I'm in an area with weak network signal. Then, I can look for a spot with decent signal, even if it's in a weird location, and still work from wherever I want. Also, data transmission seems faster with BT than with IR.

But hell, bluejacking Nokia users is a good enough reason for BT too... )

Posted by cyanx7
u gotta love the above post

tottaly agreed!!!

Posted by Freeeeak!
I don't know. I don't have a laptop, so that's not important for me. WAP is fast enough at the moment. I think I'll just wait & see if I can fix up my T300 to be BT compatible or wait for the inevitable software upgrade.
It's just that the T300 is so damned cute!

Posted by ajack
@freeeek:

The T300 does not have the Bluetooth hardware and I don't think a firmware upgrade will change that fact. Do not have a T300 and BT add-on to test for bluejacking capabilities...

Cheers,
Adrian

drop your poly... get that bluetooth!

Posted by ajack
I think that bluetooth is better than poly.

Posted by cyanx7
ditto ajack

makes a phone so much more versatile, don't it?

hey do u do it the same way on a P800?

"Connect>Bluetooth>Discover. if you find anyone then you are in luck. Then create a contact called buy t68i or something offensive and then save it. Then goto>Phone book>manage contacts>send contact and then select the one and send it to the stupid swedish brick owner."

thanx

Posted by senninha
contaygious, u did mean finnish brick owner right?

Posted by contaygious
I was quoting someone else in this thread...but yeah I know bricks come from finland duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Freeeeak!
@ajack
Well I think I'm gonna hold on to my T300 for now. Or get a 2nd hand sim-free T68i or something. I'm gonna "borrow" my mate's P800 to try out bluejacking for myself though!

Posted by sonic_cd
well.....i tried it in sunway pyramid.great fun to see the owenrs panicking...discovered a 8910 n 7650..i think the nokia phones don`t have bt timeout...btw i using a r520 n t39...

Posted by ajack
Ah! The R520 and T39 are classics. Come to think of it, bluejacking can be done with a minimum of USD 50... Only in Malaysia is this possible! Potential victims are now the 7650, 6310i and 8910. Anybody bluejacked a non-Nokia before? If you know the victim, it doesn't count. Maybe we can list out potential victims... Err... I mean brand/models that have bluetooth capabilities and give it a bluejack rating!

Posted by sonic_cd
ok,next on the list is the siemens s55..(i think it has bt..)n the never seen 6310(no 'i')or(rare case)0the nk6210 with bt add on battery..what about bluejacking a laptop with the bt card?

Grr... the people who phone me, say are you 16 - i say no and they hang up!

Posted by ajack
@sprinkles - What did we learn from this? When you bluejack somebody, make sure they cannot trace it back to you... but it was fun wasn't it? ;-)

Posted by BeeWee
I have a T68i with R2F004.
I have no problems discovering other devices like 7650`s, 6310i, other T68`s (i and m) and PC`s.

I have no problem paring with computers or devices like BT HF HBH-15.

but when i Use R6A or R5D to discover his R1F bluetooth. it work!

but... i can not pair R1F as m device....

Posted by fu|at^t68
and u guys notice the bluetooth thingy, to most of the device even PDA, or others phone equip with bluetooth. they can't transmit voice using Blueooth... only data....

Has anyone thought of sending pics through as the option is there, surely when you go in My pics and press the option button then send, you could choose via and it would search just like the irda does.
I tried this and got as far as 'no devices found',but this was a test just to see how far it would go,i live in a shit little town where i dont even know anyone with a colour phone, never mind bleeding

I'm just thinking how cool it would be to send a logo to a nokia

Posted by ajack
@boyi - good idea. However, that won't be considered bluejacking as the user/receipient would have to acknowledge receiving it before getting the pic. This is unlike bluejacking where the message gets across first!

Posted by Dj Boyi
Would be fun if they accepted the delivery though

Posted by ajack
@boyi - that would be a security vulnerability by design.

today i was walking down my street and a bleep came from my nokia 7650??? (i allways leave my bluetooth on because i was trying to get my sony headset to work with the 7650 it didnt work im not sure why but anyways back to story) i look down to see what?, a msg via bluetooth from sumone saying "who is this?"

i looket around because i know it has to be within 10 meters so i look around and the only person i could see was a little girl about 9, well she looket 9, so i sent a msg back saying are you that girl over there she takes her phone out her pocket and it was a t68! she was about 9 with a t68 sending bluetooth msgs to ppl in the street, now you dont see that every day!

the thing that got me was that i was out done by a girl who was 9 with a t68 i feel very stubid

I was in an airport and I kept bluejacking ppl right before they get on to the plane..
no one seemed to notice.. my phone said that the msg was sent (I was listenning to music so I didnt hear n e rings)
I caught 5 6310i off guards (or maybe was it the same guy walkin around?)
and there were like 10 phones that were appearing on my screen as "Phone"..
does n e one know what's up with it?

oh. I was using my T68i Bond to do this.. my P800 was out of battery..

and does T68i Bond hv the latest SW?

I got a 7650 owner in the pub on Friday night. Sent him a business card from Satan (home number 666 and e-mail addy the.devil@hell.com). The guy looked well confused.

Got him again later cos he got up on the karaoke, so I sent him a "You can't sing". Then when he looked thru the song list again I sent him a "Pleez don't sing another". One of my mates was in on the joke by this point and we were laughing so much it was a bit hard not to give the game away.

I've noticed my boss has a 6310 so he might be next victim...

9 year old?boy that must be embrassing....

I finally managed to join the bluejacking club!
After many unsuccesful attempts in lecture theatres and outside crowded night clubs, i finally managed a successful bluejacking. The funny thing is that my phone dicovered 4 devices. One was "James's 7650" the other just "7650" and the two others just had"phone"

I thought, lets give James a bit of a scare. I sent him " Change your crappy Nokia" and to my horror the person right next to me gets a msg on his 7650. So i found out who James was! The guy was stunned by the msg and had no idea what was going on!

I just cant wait to go clubbing again!

Posted by shithappens
@jamatjam: fyi, 7650's is only designed for data transfer and NOT voice, meaning u kenot pair a headset to it....nother thing, u should be using a phone too.....hahahahahaa....

@aderc: nice trick.....like your 'targeting' system....if my boss has a enabled phone, he'll be on my priority list too....haf fun man...

good luck pal...it really is fun....as i'm sure the whole bunch of us here can and will attest to that....hahahaha....cheers!!

guys, as tempting as it might be, this may not be a good idea in hospitals. don't send contacts to "heart machine" if it comes up as discoverable!
