Lol, now that you guys have actually mentioned it, i realized my flash menu's aren't working either! God dammit lol. Any solutions yet? Will a master reset do the trick?

I don't exactly have the GENERIC firmware... I have an Optus modified one. But SEUS still works for me... so not sure what's going on lol....

Guys...
Everyone using R1EA030, please plug in ur earphone or charger and tell me whether da key pad light keeps blinking and backlight becomes dim..
This blinkin and dimming stops if i press walkman key..it doesn't stop wen i slide..
Anyone experienced this? Please tell..

Posted by 0blivion
Hi, i have always had the problem with the blinking lights since the begining. It's always when something is plugged into the fastport.

Anyone on t-mobile UK managed to update yet?

Posted by superleeds27
Nice hemes but i dont think they work on a o2 braned would they?

ASome of the animated menus work, just not all of them :S

I debranded my w910i last week from vodafone to generic western europe R1AD038
When i run seus now it says i have the latest version.
Does seus still see that the firmware is the vodafone one and since there may not be the update to the vodafone software yet its reporting i have the latest?
Should something like the CDA on the phone have been changed at the debrand process?

Posted by diabu
my keypad stops blinking when the backlight goes dim (w/o pressing any key).. after that , all's normal.. i think the blinking keypad is jst a notification when u plug sometin to the phone..

Posted by gaur101guy
Mine is so wierd..the keypad keeps blinkin all the time after anything is plugged in..even if da backlight goes dim it goes on..and moreover da backlight stays dim wen dis blinking job is going on..despite sliding or pressing keys, da backlight remains dim while blinking goes on..
The only way to stop it is to press walkman key..
Earlier it used to stop by sliding or wen backlight used to go dim..

Somebody HELP!!

I still cannot update from my R1CA039 to the new firmware. This is driving me mad, because I can't stand the slow menus of W910i, that this new firmware is supposed to speed up.

It keeps saying that there is no update available.

I live in Sweden, if that matters.

since you had the "Kent edition" of the W910, it's a branded version, and then the firmware is either not released yet for this version, or it's only available through service points. You can always try contacting helpdesk and ask them, 013-244500. Otherwise you have to get your phone debranded in order to update it with the latest firmware.

@Hansomfiser
Or else you can try going to the SE service centre in your city..they do it for free..and they dont use stupid SEUS..
I had unbranded R1CA029 and SEUS kept showin me no new firmware..so i took da above option..n i'm happy

Posted by davidian
@Cytech
I have the Kent-edition, just debranded it yesterday to get rid of the 'K' as the internet icon. Anyway, I debranded to R1CA039 GENERIC NORDIC with davinci, and I still can't update through SEUS. Could it be that the new firmware isn't out in Scandinavia yet?

BTW I live in Finland.

Posted by thenobody
May be the same thing that i am seeing that the debranding works fine but SEUS still identifys your phone as branded and there is no update to the branded firmware.

May have to wait for davinci or totalgsm to get the generic new version and go through the process and payment again

I updated my W910i to R1CA039 last week and it completly crashed on me on SAT night whilst in the middle of receiving a Video file via bluetooth.
It restarted and when it came back on the theme had been reset to the std Walkman theme the time and date remained ok and I had not lost any Vids or music just had to reset my theme.
Thought i would let you all know, only happend one time so far and othere than that its been ok.

Darren.

sounds to me likea a memory stick problem, the phone probably returned a write error on the memory card transfer( perhaps you ran out of space), when you restart without a memory card you obviously won't have the correct theme, so it will set the default one from the phone itself.

Just an idea, probably a one off occurence you will find.

Hmmm if the firmware of k850i is similar to w910 i wanna ask you something ... Have your FW have a bug with theme (with customized Media look) i mean when you rotate your phone in Media to Landscape position is everything ok ? Or background is gone? ... If you don`t know what am i talking about here you have some short clip ... LINK

Posted by gaur101guy
Ya..it has been discussed previously also..the bug of landscape mode exists in W910i also..

Is your Sim Card 3G compatable or is it a std 2G? Just a thought....

Posted by Jaax
The sim card is definitely 3G compatible. I just don't know if there is a difference between a 3G and a 3G+ (HSDPA) sim card.

Posted by haki
There are no HSDPA cards per se. A 3G card is required to surf at HSDPA speeds provided that your network supports HSDPA. Some networks don't even require a 3G card to give access to 3G/HSDPA...they can provide this with a plain old GSM card.

has this new firmware solved any of the restarting bugs with this phone

Posted by diabu
mine is still restarting although i hv updated with the lates FW.. for the past 5 days i think it restarted 3 times, when i always press skip to the next song- thats when my phone restarted- it also restarted once when i use the shake control

Posted by DP-77
My W910i restarted again today for no reason at all. Was not even using the phone was just sittin on my bench and i happend to see it do it
I had to re set my theme again as well as stated in an earlier post.

So the restart bug still remains by the sounds of things.

the random restart issue had nth to do with the firmware, its the FS.i owned this phone for almost a month and i haven't experienced any random restarts.

Anyway nice update this time by SE.its great except for the media manager glitch in landscape mode.sound quality had been improved too.

Well done SE

3G works only with UMTS(2Mbps) service not with HSDPA(10Mbps)

Hi all.

I've been following this thread for quite some while, but only registerd recentley. I gave in, and flashed my phone to the new firmware (was branded Vodafone UK R1DA038).

However, I've seemed to have lost HSDPA in the connectivity settings. Can only see GSM/3G option now. Weird.

The phones performance has increased alot. And seems alot more smoother.

Yeah thats very strange too as I just got another replacement Handset and this has the latest FW R1EA030 but this time I dont see the HSDPA menu in mobile networks all I see is the GSM/ GSM,3G.
Can anyone explain this to us?
Also I used to see the lettel G/E icon up in the top left corrner even when the H was displayed and I did not actually need to be on wap it was always there either G or E but now nothing. Its only there when I send or receive a pic message or if i'm browseing the internet.
Any ideas??????

Darren

I have an unbranded W910i but I can't get the R1EA030 firmware either..
SEUS is not launching (server down?) and phone's own update is showing I have the latest.

Posted by OCedHrt
Is this a bug or intended?

If I save messages or applications on the memory card, they are still lost under a full master rest (even w/ the memory card removed).

Posted by Ollee
Im also unable to update to the most recent version. I really want this version, the lag in the walkman menus really irritate me. What can i do?

Posted by diabu
is there a way i can play flash movs to the phone.. when i browse youtube- it says it need to install flash player... is there a flash player for this phone that can be installed?
help??

Posted by Ollee
I called the SE Support today, didnt help much. He asked if my phone was locked to any specific operator, which it isn't. It's not the Kent edition either. He claimed that then the update is supposed to work... Well it doesnt :<

Posted by 0blivion
This is taking the piss. On sat, from 9 am to 5.30 pm it reset 9 times. reseting the theme AND causing the media player to update again.
Its 4-5 times a day now and its unbareable.

Its not the sim or the memory card (8gb) because i swapped handsets with a mate (r1d, debranded), and it didn't crash once, however my phone still crashed with him.

Tried a master reset but it didn't work aswell as reupdating (t-mobile branding(can't get R1EA)).

Anyone got any idea's, because im getting pee-d off, and i really don't want to send it of for 3 weeks and get an old nokia for a replacement.

Posted by Vita2U
Have you debranded it? I'd try that. If not, faulty handset and return.

Posted by 0blivion
Im on contract with t-mobile and they have canceled the insurance (on a diff phone) before because it was debranded.

However one in three times that i have sent se handsets off for repair they have come back with generic firmware, I just don't fancy the replacement phone. ( i broke a 3310 in one day )

Posted by gseth
Updated to the latest version, still phone is not perfect, media player file accessing is faster but there are random slow downs and hang ups.

Phone randomly slows down. Gives out of memory error when using opera and opening many sites, then phones slows down even after exiting opera and have to do a manual restart.

Same case with java games, after exiting sometimes slows down.

Anyone else facing any of these issues....?

Posted by heavydawson
Anyone able to use the GMail java app with the W910i? I've downloaded the latest version and it hangs at the "loading...0kb" screen.
I'm on vodafone in Ireland and I'm using firmware R1DA038
