Forgot to say this, if you can't create a comment (I remember there being something about a few countries having Wordpress.com banned for religious reasons), feel free to post the question(s) here.

i would have more a request to the new ceo :
to say thank you to esato, same way to the site owner, the mods and to the basic of esato the MEMBERS, who show loyalty and appreciattion to se for so many years...
ps se is the only brand, who has "an own and dedicated" open forum, NO other brand...
so at least a nice email, what would be made here public later, would be nice to be sent to laffen or esato email, where se says: thx for all of u ( signed by the ceo )
now that would be more then welcome...

A question very much like this has already been asked and is one of the 10 chosen questions.
The blog post has been closed for commenting now, and the questions will be sent off to shortly.
More details will follow soon.

Can't wait for his response.
Do you think he'll respond at all? To all those questions?

Yes, he will
I'll post the selected questions soon. Many of the questions were quite alike, so I've chosen the ones, which I thought were the best and could give the best answer.
Posted by NightBlade
Great, then!
Posted by Mizzle
Here are the final 10 chosen questions!
* Question number 1
Mr. Komiyama
Did you receive the Open Letter couriered to the UK offices?
If so, what is your response to the SE smartphone user base?
Thank you
Asked by: aqualung15
* Question number 2
Dear Mr. Komiyama,
SE Customer Support has been absolutely atrocious!
I have sent multiple emails to the Support organization and posted numerous posts on SE Developer World. I have yet to get a decent response in either email (just generic template responses) and have been virtually ignored on the Developer World forum. I’m not the only one as others who responded to my posts have received the same treatment! (see http://developer.sonyericsson[....]d.jspa?threadID=41416&tstart=0 and http://developer.sonyericsson[....].jspa?threadID=40448&tstart=0)
You have customers who are reporting bugs, suggesting new features, etc. in hopes of helping SE make better products. Unfortunately, we are ignored… SE has our money and must not want repeat customers or good word of mouth regarding your phones or the company.
Will you help correct this behavior and treat us better than we have been treated within the last 12-18 months?
Asked by:awl1168
* Question number 3
Mr. Komiyama
It seems SE has been so preoccupied with producing low level phones to increasing market share and you have unacceptable delay to producing high level phones such as N95, iPhone, U600, Prada, Armani and also Adidas phones rivals. This policy affected your market share growth also. Why don’t you push the consumers to your SE great products as you did it before by producing innovative products?
Asked by: Houman
* Question number 4
Mr. Komiyama,
What are your plans on advertising SE products for 2008? Will we see SE advertising aggressively across all products like other top 5 players? Also, do you believe that design is THE main thing for consumers when buying products and features as mentioned by one of your officials?
Asked by: steve
* Question number 5
What is Sony Ericsson’s view on Apple in regards to their attempt to enter the mobile market and their product design (usability, ‘fun’, aesthetics) which has been well received by consumers?
It’s obvious that Apple’s iPhone is proving to be a very attractive product for consumers - despite its lack of features, its ease of use and enjoyment are enough to make people think that it’s worth its fairly hefty price tag. Instead of denying the technological backwardness of the iPhone, Sony Ericsson should accept that having a very easy to use phone with some ‘wow’ factor is what consumers want, rather than waiting too long and coming out with a ‘copycat’ product which will be out far too late.
Asked by: shaliron
* Question number 6
How does Sony Ericsson intend to differentiate itself from the other phone manufacturers for the next two years? Sony Ericsson has done a fantastic job differentiating itself in terms of its strength of music and the camera, and in terms of its unique designs. However, customers have become more complex, and would require more functionality and complexity in their phones.
Asked by: Roy
* Question number 7
Sony Ericsson seems to have the best hope of taking over Samsung and Motorola in the rankings of phone manufacturers. How does Sony Ericsson aim to move into the top three ranks? Is that a goal for 2008 and does Sony Ericsson sees it as achievable? Also, LG is proving to be a strong competitor to Sony Ericsson, with its strong growth this year. How does Sony Ericsson intend to fight off the competition?
Asked by: Roy
* Question number 8
Given that Sony Ericsson has now announced the end of support for the 15-month-old flagship P990, what relief or compensation does the company propose for its long-suffering early adopters who paid top dollar / pound / euro etc. for the supposed state-of-the-art “smart”phone, whose limited 64 MB RAM prevents it from meeting its advertised supposed multitasking capabilities?
Asked by: koolezt
* Question number 9
Is there any chance to improve the developer world and associated communities?
Asked by: leomax
* Question number 10
Dear Mr. Komiyama,
Would like to ask why the best of your latest phones like W960/P1 are not compatible with the USA 3G networks? Will the future phones support the full USA market?
Asked by: Joe

Don't know how serious that post was, but there's something about that in question 3, 6 and 7.

well done

Good selection of questions. In fact, #8 by kooletz is very similar to my question but probably better worded.
If we do get an answer, I may again start trusting SE as I will know that at least its president is true to his word i.e. "customer oriented".

An answer is a good start.
Actual implementation of changes is even better.

Take it easy!
I will post the answers as soon as I get them. It'll take a few days like it did when I interviewed Miles Flint.

Hi Mizzle,
Any news as to when we may expect you to receive the answers as it is now nearly 3 weeks already and 11 days since your last post when you said it would take a few days.

you really think he's going to accept SE has horrible customer support or that P990 is a disaster? Seriously, welcome to the world.

Look, it's not my fault he's taking his time answering the questions. And I have never asked for any of you guys to care about this - I gave you the opportunity to ask him a question and it looks like all ten questions are very hard. I have now asked how long it'll take.
Posted by Dogmann
@Mizzle
I never suggested it was your fault and can't see where anyone else has either, as i really don't see how it could be. I was just asking for an update as to when we may expect his answers that was all.

OK, however those last replies sounded like they were aimed at me. I'm STRONGLY counting on getting them back next week. It really shouldn't take any longer.

Ok, here's a slight update.
Mr Komiyama is currently settling by visiting all the offices and is therefore not available to answer the question at the moment. They should come before Christmas, though.

Cheers Mizzle.
'Dicky' must be settling into his new role and of course he will be out and about meeting his new workforce.
Keep us updated my mate.

@Mizzle
Many thanks for the update and i for one am looking forward to seeing what he has to say.

I would have asked him the following question:
- since mobile phones are more and more dependend on the ecosystem they live in (software and interaction with other electronics (as a communication hub or functonality extender): what are your plans "around" the mobile phones?
In particular:
- are there any plans to create a SonyEricsson branded content marketplace (such as a music store or video store)?
- does SonyEricsson have a plan of integration with Sony Corporation (again, with regards of content)?
You see, SonyEricsson makes great phones, but it seems behind in terms of integration in an ecosystem which allows these devices to achieve their whole potential.
In particular in areas like:
- Social networking to increase the use of picture, video and blog capabilities (do you plan to affiliate or develop a social networking site centered around your phones?)
- music (Sony has an impressive and growing collection of artists, why does SonyEricsson not have some sort of exclusive dealership with regards to some)?
- video (again Sony, through Columbia TriStar and others, owns an impressive collection of videos, are there integration plans with regards to SonyEricsson?)
- games (do you view any potential in Sony's Playstation brand? Do you think some sort of integration with the aforementioned gaming platform is being required by customers? Do you think it might help in creating a strong differentiation and brand awareness?)
SonyEricsson has a well established record of innovation, simplicity and design. But recent trends have shown that consumers want to enjoy content on the go. Others seem to lead in this strategy currently.
Shouldn't SonyEricsson, through Sony, be in a position to lead such a shift?
These are questions that I think would be of interest. One past the 8 Mpx barrier and the 20Gb of memory the difference will be made by the ecosystem...
One last question:
Does SonyEricsson have plans to create software (Windows, Mac or both)? What have you, as SonyEricsson, learned from the "Sony Connect" experience?
-------------
Bottom line is: SonyEricsson, Columbia, Sony Music, Playstation, Bravia, Cyber Shot, Handycam, Vaio are all fabulous brands, top notch electronic products. But they all work in perfectly insulated compartments. One hub is the computer, the other is the mobile phone. SonyEricsson should concentrate more on that, in my opinion, because that is where the future is going to be shaped. And that is where the money is: not just one shop, but a contiuous, revenue rich and interesting experience for both Sony as well as the customers (benefit of premium, exclusive content on the go on an exciting mobile phone).
Ok...
That is my point of view. Sorry for not having posted earlier, but I was in the army for 4 weeks, so I had no chance to read any of the posts...
Posted by Mizzle
@pinolo77 - please read the posts. The questions have already been chosen and sent off to

I did read the post and have seen that questions have been sent. I felt, however, I post what "would have been my questions if I wasn't away", just for fun, as a contribution to the general discussion. Also because the ones I asked weren't mentioned in the "shortlist".
