Will we see the pics today?

Posted by PeterKay
nope

I'm interested to learn how thin it is. Personally, I think the N95 is an acceptable thickness considering what it does, so for the P5 to have the same/more features at a thinner body is pretty amazing. I hope there aren't any trade offs.

Also, will the P5 have the dual M2/Micro SD card slot the K850 has? Wasn't that feature supposed to be used in the high-end devices?

Posted by Angello
guys stop this!
This is not fair.
PK has so much to do with all ur pic requests
this is really unnecessary

Yes,P5 will have it.Also,I know somebody will ask,a big trade-off could be the battery life, but there aren't any remarks made by my trusted sources. So no,battery life is good.

Shame.

Although if I were PK I wouldn't show you lot either when you start getting abuse!

This is a P700 aka P1 situation all over again lol.

Nice one PK... all the best mate!

from all the rumours & information given by the ppl, i think this is the best match so far...

it looks slim & sexy.. UIQ also looks kind of sexy...

Posted by laurenke01
Good to know, icaka. Thanks!

M2 cards are virtually nonexistent in the US, so I'm glad I'll be able to keep my Micro.

....Assuming this is quadband. Fingers and toes crossed!!

that picture posted earlier is actually fake you can simply look at where the "Sony Ericsson" is positioned ..its above the ear-piece and NO S.E phone had the logo above it its always under the ear-piece

thanks PK for at least letting us know that you and beta have versions of this phone. at least its not like the K850 which ppl didnt know how to control themselves with in the 2007 thread.

here is a mock up that has been floating around now for some months, the reason i post this is that i rather like the keypad, and was wondering if we will be seeing something similar to this in the coming weeks?

will we get the option of internal or external memory options or even both? at this point will our limitation be the size of card, or the phone itself?

ive also noticed in the screens that SE uses the touch screens dont fair as well in sunlight compared to the nontouch screens w960 vs k850. is that the case here?

also do we get 16mil from SE or are we still to suffer though the 262k that they have had since 03 (in japan ie. SO505i)

i think it was asked earlier but never answered but can we expect to see the bands covered in the K850i covered in the P5i as well? i ask this because i wanted a phone with QuadGSM + Tri3.5G + WiFi (a/b/g), the GPS is an insane bonus if we get all those bands, in a form factor smaller than an N95.

and many folks here have to just hold on, all the negativity within your posts is lame, hell post pics "soon" and not today.

ps: what do you mean by soon, this week? before or after the weekend, its all anyone wants. we have an announcement date, but the pre-announcement from PK is a stab in the dark. help a board out!!!

thanks again.

Since PK said the P5 does have a built-in map program for use with the internal GPS....I wonder how it compares to Nokia Maps? Are you able to search for nearby restaurants and whatnot as well as you can with Nokia's solution?

ETA: Also, do you suspect UIQ 3 programs are backward compatible with this new version?

yes they are backwards compatible.

You could accidentally leak one or two pics somewhere.

hehe... i think this way is more fun...so wht do u like most in P5?

Posted by icaka
In fact, there is a bigger gap between the buttons and the touchscreen.

Posted by kalbekke
Can you tell us something 'bout the input UI? If P5i isn't a slider, and Sealover's concept isn't "too far away" from the truth, how do you type text? Is it similar to that of iPhone (i.e. 'on screen keyboard' and/or 'stylus handwriting')?

Thanx for all info provided - so far...

Posted by n3o
so where is the keyboard...

Posted by rraz9228
What other specs can you reveal?

I dont think it does have 3.5mm jack & also its not quad band as usual..

Now we are getting somewhere....

Posted by PeterKay
looked at many photoshops but that has to be the closest, not 100% but almost.

Posted by icaka
Yeah, the buttons and the front camera aren't in their place/wrong shape/size,but it looks like P5i.Btw,is there any hard screen protector on the display?(protective layer I mean)

PeterKay,

May I ask....is the reason why you are not posting any pictures or more information because your job as a prototype tester not allow it? Or you want to wait a bit longer for personal reasons?

Thank you

P.S.~Also if I am not mistaken, "Dunya" in Arabic actually means "Universe" not earth. Correct me if I'm wrong

Posted by PeterKay
Sorry yep Universe is what i meant

Yep those are indeed the reasons.

Why were you allowed to post P1i pics prior to the announcement then?

Posted by PeterKay
Pics were posted of the P1i (p700) before my review if you can remember!

Nothin of the P5i is officially on the net as have been very strict with us testers.

Posted by Dummaari
