Sorry guys if you think i am avoiding your questions at times, this is not intentional and i don't want to keep you all waiting, but at this stage i am limited to what answers and pictures i can issue to you. I have people over me who tell me what i can and can't do but i am doing my utmost best as i have done before.
Basically what you need to rememberis that, the P5i is the complete package and the dogs b@llocks.

this is getting exciting!! i loved the p1i before the release but now its not much different than the 990 except a few features..
But this, with a supposed NEW uiq, and that awesome design, and those knock-you-out features.....
i cannot wait!

P900 and P1i users, you will love the P5i no doubt.
have concentrated more on performance and design on this beauty (about time too)
Wifi, GPS, Quality Camera and Video recorder, slim design, fast performance, lots of RAM
, New UIQ with backwards compatibility, what more can one ask for?
The only downside is the fact that this won't be hitting the shelves till Mid 2008 and by then more new high spec phones will be released!!
must be thinking about this, hope they release it earlier.... but can't see it myself with past experiences with

Why P900 and P1 users?? Is it because the big touchscreen as in P900 without flip and the hardware keyboard just as P1 has?? According to the info till now it should be a slider, right??

Btw,for the "display matching" thing between P5i and P990i,you are not right.The P5i is larger than that.One of the reasons is that you're matching the HEIGHT of the display,not the diagonal.The proportions are not exactly the same.But the main reason is that there is some "border" part of the display - I mean the actual dimensions of the transparent display cover.Look at the W910i for example -
And the P5i border is thicker than the W910's one.

Although the sentence about P1 and P900 users lovin' it means that it may not have qwerty or have this half-qwerty from P1 (hopeless).
What means that I may not buy it!!!
Qwerty is one of decisive factors for a smartphone/business device, for me of course.

my friend, you are so wrong...i also had reserves to the P1 keyboard, but now i do consider it BETTER than the P990 full QWERTY, after using it...i hope they put it on the P5 (the slider part that is not showed on this photoshops)

That's quite a turnaround from some of the (pre P1 release) conversations we've had Ares! I take it you're comfortable with the P5i not having a traditional P-series flip, too?

Indeed...i changed my mind a bit, after trying the P1...however, i would still prefer the flip...but if this P5 slider design means a super slim device, i won´t mind

I'd hope this builds a little on the P1/M600 experience, and maybe adds the directional and soft-key buttons needed to make UIQ3 truly one-handed in what would, on the P990, be known as "flip off" mode....
With that, and some form of slide out keypad, there really wouldn't be any need for the dual-mode flipped designs of the past.
