sony ericsson w880i on 3

Hi u bought a unbranded unlocked sony ericsson w880i from carphone warehouse 3 weeks ago but decided to get a 3 pay as you go sim card today as the do a good deal. i was having problems connecting to the internet but rang them up and they gave me the settings and now i can browse there site, my 3 seems t be down at the moment but i can watch the free videos they have on there and go on different pages on the homepage so all is working it seems. But i have tried to download windows live messneger and it just takes ages and says connection failure try again or contact operator now my internet connection is working i can browse the site but windows messenger just won't download does anyone have any help they can give me thanks.
