kds doesnt require a software...open it in notepad and u can edit it...

btw...to put a walkman logo on top, simply change extension of kdi to png and open it in photoshop and paste the logo on top of the player background in the png file...wherever u want...

Copies of this thread on other sites? Well of course Sriram has membership with other forums that allow this.

it is just the case of copy and pasting the bbcode with the all the images f the skin and the download link (if the forums supports the bbcode)

Yes skins have to be sent to your phone, either phone memory or memory card (whichever). When you downloa the archive extract to a folder with the skins name and simply send to your phone (I always send via bluetooth) to my k800 or w580.

When you select a skin in KD Player, KD will detect the .kds file (a text file just with .kds extension) where all the settings and coordinates for the skin itself are stored. The images for the skin are in the accompanied .kdi file (a simple image file at most a png image).

One of the best ways to pick up making skins is to edit other peoples skins made and then test your edits. Do not use a rubbish low key image editor like Paint. if you cannot afford Photoshop, Paintshop Pro or Ulead PhotoImapact, then they are fantatsic free editors that even rival the high end editors. Such free editors are Paint.net, The GIMP, photofiltre (free version) but I use the paid version of PhotoFiltre that is PhotoFiltre Studioor always low cost alternatives like

Hi, I had this problem before, I fixed the probvlem by analyzing the .kds file and finding a small error in the codes

what skin are you trying to apply, perhaps you did run out of memory on ure phone

Start KD Player go to 'More' then 'change skin' and then browse for the folder with that .kdi and .kds that you have inside.

I hate how Evance just used my skin and replaced the album art with an image from another skin and claims it to be his own work.

He could at least give credit to my work and the work of the other skinner.

thks for da quick response! i went to the official kdplayer website and i noticed that it said "nokia:no" for sone of the skins i think this is the problem. However, when u mentioned about correcting the codes in the .kds file i am wondering will this make the non compatible skins for nokia work with nokia phones?

@shotgun - the png/jpg file in the zip (is what I put there). The png file in the .zip means nothing at all except to show you previews of the skin running nin KD Player. You can keep the png files or delete them, only thin g that matters is the .kds and .kds

@coolboy123 - Album art can be read from a folder and or album art can be read from an mp3 itself if the mp3 has the art embedded into the file. So grab any picture image (recommend .jpg) and then send the picture image to your phone's folder where your music is. you must rename the image to " folder " without the quotes so it will be folder.jpg. If you want you can also embed the album art into the file usin g free excelent Windows software like mp3Tag , audioshell or

coolboy123 - I dont know, it could be that most Nokia does not support transparency in png files which very creative skins tend to have or it could be a matter of the skin featuring a lot of images that may get cramped on a Nokai screen. The general incompatibility with skins on Nokia is simply the matter of screen size - coz a lot of Nokia fones have the 208x208 size.

btw... does anyone know where I can download a Nokia emulator with 208x208?? Coz I would like to test KD Player with it before buying my third fone whioch will be a Nokia symbian

Hi, thats a very common error in nokia phones. Most of my skins have transparent elements which are not supported in Nokia. Hence the problem. Sorry for that.

do not end application by pressing return key...it erases the playlist...

rather...go to menu, and select exit/quit from menu...
