Hi everybody,
Iīm really desperate to lenghten standby period since my T68 is "losing" quite a number of standby hours even if switched off ovenight ! Isnīt there some (any) way to dim that f...ing light ? It is so strong I can use my phone as a torch with no hesitation, and it also hurts my eyes when turning off the alarm clock in the morning.
Thanx for any ideas and donīt try to tell me it is not possible !

It's not possible!

All you can do is turn it off.
You have three options, off, automatic and on.

Sorry...

One thing you could do thoug, is to buy a colloured film, like the protecting film you can get for a PDA.

you could solder a reistor in to the phone

to lessen the current to the lights (like the 3210 used to do)

Really NO way through service menu of any kind (apart from >*<<*<* option) ? Is your phone also losing approx. 60 standby hours per night when switched off ?

You can't alter anything in the service menu.
I've got no idea how much battery my phone drains overnight. I charge it everytime I put in the car handsfree.

Yeah, when Iīm in town this is not aproblem. But I spend loads of time "offroad" and they do not exactly have electricity @ some places like Romania countryside etc. This has never been a problem with my old faithfull Motorola lasting 10 days in row. Huh...

There is a way in the service settings to change the contrast settings. Select >*<<*<* then Service settings, then contrast. And you can change the setting. Dunno if that really helps though.
