Sorry man, don't like it. Seems like you've over done it here and simply tried too hard.

I've seen somewhere bravia branded SE.. Probably Japanese. I'll post the photo when I find in where..

You mean this?
Sony Ericsson SO903iTV Bravia Phone with 3" WVGA wide LCD
I deleted my pics already to avoid misconceptions regarding this thread since this is purely a concept site, the one i posted was a real phone

Very nice sunils! although the camera design could still be better

@ not_me
your concept designing skills are improving really fast, good job man.
I really like the back of your concept, all but one thing. The flash should never be placed vertical due to the obvious result it would have on the picture.

@sunils120
i want to scream out loud for this design
this on is great i love the red and black i looooove the big screen i think if p5i
or w980 was to ship then they should look like that !!!!
great vision dude i loved it
Posted by not_me
@n4d3r
thanks, also for telling the flash cannot be aligned vertically wasn't sure about it, but that way it fitted into the design so perfectly !

Sunsils, great design!! Kudos!! Maybe you could try to incorporate slider similar to Nokia N95. Only bad thing about it was when drawing it from the pocket it would usually hook on the jeans stitch. So having that in mind you can try to design it. BTW. Best wishes.. And keep up the good work.

@sunils
awesome concepts, love them
Posted by not_me
Ok, have repositioned and enlarged the flash, changed the color scheme to grey-blue, upgraded the camera to 5 megapixels, added some not so well done reflection /glossy part, and removed the writing.
which was better this or the previous ?

As I did put a 5 megapixel cam on it; I did change the index to K870i !
can somebody propose some good specs for it, something similar to what is expected of K850i successor, thanks !
So Here K870i : Front & Back :

thanks, why don't you draw it by hand and put it here too, a good concept doesn't need photoshop skills
photoshop concepts like mine are't that difficult though, my final ps works look always different than my initial idea, because that turns mostly out to be to complicated for my ps skills and limited time ...
ps : seems people don't really look at details, the screen border should look familar after all, as I didn't redo, but just copy paste it

ya but you do agree with me that photoshoped concepts look a lot better than hand drawn ones right
?!
Posted by sunils120
@kenobythe hinge doesnot necessarily interfere during removal from your jeans pocket as its camera shutter button. .But anyway thanks
@razec
i would try to improve upon the camera
concentrating upon ergonomics and build quality, here is a successor to k660 - k680i

It's always nice to see one's concepts spread around the world, isn't it. I was very surprised when I found my W690i on a chinese Yahoo site (google translated version).
Posted by chombos1
@not me
Superior concept.
i realy want to see this as the K870.
just a tip: that would be the best concept i have ever seen if the d-pad was more square like and the soft keys was a little bigger.
Posted by not_me
@nneo :
yeah, agree one thing is that material/luster adds a lot to the design of a phone, like mostly phones look better in real life and spypics than in the official pix.
@ chombos1:
thanks, didn't like the middle d-pad button, but had no time yesterday to change it. so what do you think improvement or not ?
Posted by albero23
i think better before
anyway the pad is right
Posted by not_me
I was asked to do a little step-by-step tutorial on how I do my concepts, as it really isn't difficult at all, you will be surprised on how fast it can be done.
I want to add that I'm not that good in photoshop, so if somebody has some good tips please add them here
so here we go :
for phone mainbody :
- new document - preset web :1600x1200 - background white
- new layer
- new shape [press U and select first of three icons in top toolbar to get shape tool ] - select rounded rectangle tool - set radius like you want it to be
- draw your shape of phone mainbody
- change shape style : color overlay : color you want - inner glow : black / multiply or lighter version of your color and blend mode screen - play with choke and size to get desired effect
- load material image , for example metal, wood or plastic
- resize it to fit shape size, change layer order if not done yet, material should be below shape, change shape transperency to best effect
- select material layer - new mask - load shape selection [hold crtl and click on thumbnail of layer] - invert selection - fill it with black -make sure mask is selected
for screen :
- to get proportions correctly make new document 480x640 white selcet all and copy, maybe there is easier way don't know
- paste in current doc, this represents the screen now
- new rounded shape below pasted (to get proportions), same as above, black color name it screenborder1
- make copy of it below, resize it (lock proportions) to about 101 %
name it screenborder2, add style outer glow with low opacity and size ; set choke 0
- make new rectangular shape below white screen same proportions little bigger , add style gradient overlay, white to black, -45 degrees
- take white screen or load image with same proportions add style inner shadow black multiply 120 deg edit size choke distance as desired
- new layer above all make gradient white to transparent about 120 deg adust transparency
- now load selection of screenborder1, invert and cut from reflection layer
- add se logo below reflection
you should have similar to this :

wow
really really nice
Posted by not_me
@sunils :
great concept, I think screen looks a little too elongated, why don't try it with a 10:16 proportion.
@ newguy:
wow, have you done everything from scratch in ps, you must be really good in photoshop, nice work
if you don't mind, I would have some suggestions
I think it would look even better, if you made it a little longer, by increasing the space between screen and keys, would stick the walkman logo at that place, and at the top put the se writing beneath the earspeaker
Posted by sunils120
@not me
thanks for ur generous comment(that was a 30 mins straight photoshop)
so i could not give much attention to details as mentioned before.
now time for some change, introducing the true k550 successor -
the next flagship of cybershot phones: K560i. Hope this one looks good!

good work
but
that screen look more then 2 inches to me
Posted by not_me
walkman slider w930i, there is a good reason for why it is so small and blurry , that's because it is rather not well done and not finished, but i won't work on it further :

if w910i was anything like that then i would have changed my W850i for it (of course with a 3.2MP upgrade and fully black cover with lime-green lines on the borders )

It's basically utilizing the TS version of UIQ so as to allow extensive handcam controls on the video recording. just like a real Handycam, it needs TS
@kenoby:
if only SE will produce something like that

Posted by razec
^^ maybe he just want to be unique
Posted by sunils120
@razec
yeah may be it would have looked better but as i am inspired by k850 i thought it would look good if the flash is positioned separately! But anyway thanks

@Razec, that Z900 is the best flip-phone concept I have yet seen on Esato! Awesome. I love the shiny screen with hidden borders and the HandyCam idea!
