The Swedish magasine Mobil just announced that the new phone Neonde will be released in Fabruary. I must say that the design and and interface kicks P800 ass. As what I have seen so far I can tell you guys I'm waiting for the Neonde. It Might not hold as many features as P800, but design and size matters to me and thats why I will choose Neonde!!

Of course he is talking about the neonode
But I think the lack of a keypad is too bad, and does it have Bluetooth? Expandable memory? GPRS? Cant find too much info about it! Where is it produced? Price..?
neonode is some new manufacturer is it?
Those three reasons are the main reason to why I will buy the p800, if neonode has this, I will surely get one as a "weekend phone"
I must really say I like the design of it!

Well....I have never used my Bluetooth so I don't need it. And the producer is Swedish as I understand (so I believe it will be of good quality). And when it comes to that it's a completely new company.....i agree with you, but you have to take a chance now and then. I support alla new companies that dares to take up a fight with all the big multinational companies.

@oblomov
Can you translate the story a bit from swedish to english.
Do they write about making a phone call does it have to be with a headset or not?
Thanx
Posted by dumbdumb
What? Are you sure it has to be connected to a headset in order to use!? If so, it sounds more like a MP3 player to me than a phone... maybe the inventor wanted to make a MP3 player and along the way added the phone function... lol...

From what i understand the screen size of this thing is exactly the same as a 7650. Now, am i the only one who finds a touch screen of that size completely useless?! The p800's screen size is twice of that, and that's just barely big enough to work well as a touch screen imo.

what about a releasedate on this thing.
I can`t get in on the Neonode site, is there a none flash version? The terminal server I am on does not support flash.

Thanks @nwmq1

If what i read in the article is true, the neonode phone is not very expensive, I might but this as a third phone after the P800 and my T68i.
I am not to enthusiastic about MS OS on the phone though, I hope they prove me wrong!
Posted by dumbdumb
NO!!! Please... not MS CE...
I guess that did it... I am not going to get this product...
hehe...

Haven't seen any info on the weight of this thing yet.... Anybody know? It does seem like pretty good value for the price, but still i can hardly see it as a p800 killer mainly because of the small screen size and limited cell phone functions, and i believe the pda functions won't work as well on the neonode either.
Posted by Da_WiZ
The release date is said to be February here in Sweden....don't know what date for rest of the world.
Whats great about N1 it seems to be that the develpment tool is free so Neonode hopes that young people will start to develop their own applications.....like a new way to send textmessages and other cool things....

I heard that Neonode is a swedish... is that correct?
Posted by Iceduck
It definitely looks cool. But as it has been said before, this is a new company with a relatively different product compared to the established companies. If I were to use my experience from the console market I would wait and see what's up with this. And I'm not sure if I'm ready to run around with a headset all the time. People (especially old people) look weird at you if you're using a headset, unless of course you're in Asia, becuase there the old people use headsets themselves.
I think I could live with the small screen size when you consider how small the "phone" is.

Hmm.. how do you enter text on the Neonode? AFAIK there is no stylus for the phone...

mindcontrole

Hmm.. for me the P800 still seems a lot better. I think the P800 is more of the PDA type with more features. Even though not much information is available, the NeoNode seems to have much less features.

LOL, I like this company. They are pretty funny. While I was scrolling though size comparisons, I came across the P800 which was named "swedish brick", and the Nokia 3650 which was named "finnish brick". There doesn't seem to be a speaker or mic on the unit itself but it is around the size of a T68i and can handle Win CE. It's meant to be used more as a PDA than a phone. From experience with Win CE, there is no voice dialling, and there is no number recognition. I would like to play with the Neonode N1 before making any decisions though.

The phone looks quite interesting, and like I`ve sad earlier, if the price is as low as it seems I am getting one as a 3rd phone. But I will still buy the "swedish brick"

Is there anyone who has more info ?
How does the meny look ?
Will you really be able to surf the internet ?
Posted by jplacson
If their page would actually load! Then maybe I could see what everyone is talking about!!!
Anyway, if it's Swedish... I might actually switch... SE has just lost ALL sense of decent design. I was gonna get the P800 for the features, NOT the design. The T68i is NOT an SE phone... please... give credit where credit is due... the T68 is Ericsson..period. Slapping a new cover and removing the cool rubber back does NOT improve the design, nor does it make it an SE design.
I'm sticking with the Sweden... hell if Ericsson comes up with just one phone on their own... I'll get it over the SE P800. I got Ericsson primarily for their technology, second, their design... tech-wise, SE is still #1... but design wise... sorry, but they just look too box-like...even worse than the OLD OLD OLD Ericsson radios from 1901!!!!

Another swedish delight

N1 is more than a PDA; it is the first of a whole new genre of devices.
Although it might have simplistic PDA functionality; it is an instant messenger, mp3 player, and mobile phone. It focuses on usability and satisfaction, not on productivity.

yes that was one of the problem that i was thinking on! specialy when neonode does not use any kind of pen, just the fingers, hmm, then it cant have a virtual keybord as p800.

Looks like an interesting little phone! I like the looks of it maybe worth watching!
Posted by mrj82
One question is it a tri band phone?
Posted by woltran
I thing it is a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
did you see the compare section??
it is very small.i cant belive it can do all of that
Posted by NetGuy2
NeoNode FOREVER!!!!
Posted by jplacson
woltran, why can't you believe it just cuz it's small? The T68i can do so much for it's size..and the T68i is kinda old technology already. The only reason mobiles are as big as they are (including the T600) is cuz of ergonomics, not cuz of chip size.... current mobile phones in Japan are WAY smaller than any other phone out on the market...and these phones are being GIVEN away in Japan...so size for me is not an obstacle anymore. I think all these mobile phone cos just want us to believe that smaller costs a LOT more (Nokia 8xxx series) even if it doesn't really matter anymore.

I CAN'T VIEW THEIR SITE!!! IT DOESN'T LOAD!!!!!!
