That being said, I would prefer a UIQ Cyber-shot over a UIQ Walkman, but that is personal preference. BeiBei still looks stunning, though.
Do you know if metal is being used in P5i's construction, or is that more for second-half SE phones?

Unlikely, but possible nevertheless. I'd buy it! That's the only thing I don't like about the walkmans - the lack of AF and flash. If there was (ala W800), then I'd forget about the cyber-shots for good!

I doubt it too. AF is how SE differentiates Cyber-shots from Walkmans, and it seems the only modern Walkmans that have any chance of getting AF are the UIQ models. But never say never, I guess.

If af and flash is for cybershot then its time that se differentiates Walkman from the rest by adding 3.5mm and music hardware. In my eyes walkmans are losing their music status by not having 3.5mm while every other company does.

okay guys... feb 10 is almost here and some news finally trickling in... SE will announce 5-6 (most probably 5) new phones! they are also working on geoblogging, an application that will geo tag ur pictures... if u still don't get it... WATCH OUT FOR PHONES WITH INBUILT GPS IN BARCELONA!!

Shiho won't be shown before May. I would focus on 3GSM in the first place.

AFAIK it was both said that beibei will be UIQ4 and is not ready for release, as well as that it is UIQ3.2 and it is hundred pourcent sure it will be announced at 3GSM, so there hasn't been anything clear, time will tell

Motorola is NOT just a cellular phone company ppl.
They make UMTS Base Stations, their building Sprint Wireless' WiMax network solely from scratch and its NOT their first network either. They have several contracts in Asia for UMTS networks & their upkeep. This last qtr does not fully reflect new handhelds like the RAZR2 variants (which in the North America are selling almost as good as the original - God forbid), Motorola Q9h/m/c (which has huge contracts due payment by 4 wireless providers in N.A.), etc.
They're not done yet, but I'm sure if it continues over the next 3 qtrs we'll see possible sale of their wireless division - which has some cash reserves. Remember their working with Google as a manufacturer for the Andriod project.
I'm no Motorola fan; but I'm no idiot either. Remember just 4qtrs ago when it was reported that SE surpased Motorola in total sales for 1QTR? That was short lived when the #'s where double checked by real analysts. So don't be so quick to count Motorola out. Their down but not out, and they have as many faithful fans like us for SE.
