I'm not sure, but I think maybe two. However I think these will be only slight variances on the black colour. There will be the black and copper colour that we've seen, and probably another black and something coloured one. I'm not 100% sure, but that's what I assume.

G705 has two colours: black and gold. Also it has one special black colour.

rizzamarv,
bengalboy's review is pretty much for jobless people. Its not to the point. I have to say, its a poor review, considering, more than 25% of it had got nothing to do with the phone.

Posted by Tigershark42
True.
I wonder if we will EVER see Hecaro...

But its now or never...

I would say that more than 50% got nothing to do with the phone!

Having the X1 stuck down a load of stick insects knickers does not constitute a review IMO, give it a couple of weeks and someone will do the job properly

I'd love to know.
For me it's cruical info - wait for a new, decent UiQ or already invest in WM. And forget about pseries.

Tomorrow Sony Ericsson announced two phones.

Posted by NightBlade
So, the G705 aand...?

Posted by moogoo
does that mean two color variants of the same phone?

Posted by SE-Naz
Are you able to tell us what the other handset is apart from the G705???

Cheers
ENJOY

Posted by Maximys
I mean G705 and one special version of G705.

Are you talking about walkman version of G705?

Posted by Lunion
Just checked through the past few posts and didn't notice a time for the announcement, does anyone know?

Posted by moogoo
ha! knew it was too good to be true to have a really distinct phone from g705. It's a shame i'm unable to try many of the SE phones available before deciding to purchase or not. I have to rely on others' experiences, pictures and video.

hope the special g705 is really special

Posted by Maximys
G705u - special version of G705.
http://wap.sonyericsson.com/UAprof/G705uR101.xml

Posted by djin
what kind of site is that maximys?

Posted by Klue2k
Its a WAP profile. Address used most commonly accessing website via mobile.

Posted by badassmam
So when is the high end stuff coming? P1 is discontinued so now what? Well, the release after announcement is so bloody long, I would go for the W980 or the G900. Both are excellent. Life is too short to wait for the high end phones, have fun with what you have.

Posted by michaelconan
uiq server has down.. does it means anything?

Posted by rizzamarv
Here its already 9th... what time CET is the announcement?

@djin
@miguel
@MWEB

The review and forum contains more information on the phone and how its use is in everyday life than any other site on the net offers. Your welcome prove me wrong by posting a different review?!

Maybe you shouldn't let yourselfs get distracted by the pics and stick to the text

Posted by michaelconan
i think 6 more hours to go..

Posted by michaelconan
UIQ site is back up.. with nothing updated.. sad..

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
True. I'd say it was just coincidence that it was down. Our insiders are almost always accurate about what is to be announced, and they've told us there is only the non-UIQ G705 (and G705u whatever that is) to be announced.

Just thinking maybe the 'u' in G705u stands for HSUPA?

Posted by michaelconan
i know the insider is pretty reliable.. but i still hoping for some surprises.. hehe..

2Rizzamarv,
How come i see more pics than texts:P.
Well, there hasent been an indepth review atm, but soon they will be out, and i am sure they will be indexed, organized and more professional. However, we all got our own opinions, and fav. reviewers(While i got none). So to me, bengalboy's reviews are quite waste of time.
Looking forward to gsmarena's review.

You sound like you're Back From The Future

@djin

true, we all have our own opinions. but i remember the GSMArena review on the P1i which totally put me off... strong criticism of the keyboard saying that nobody liked it after they played around with it for one day!!! Many different sites are also criticizing the X1 keyboard after having played with it for two mins at a convention. My point is just even though Bengalboy has a arguably very strange way of doing a review he has ahd the device for months and uses it everyday, updating the firmware, installing progs, testing videos etc. I know his way of reviewing is not to everyones liking but I really think the information he gives is 100 times more accurate and in depth than what GSMArena puts together between three people in one afternoon...

Sorry for the long OT and again you are right everybody prefers a different style of review, But BB has answered many of my questions about the X1 personally and I just thought it should be said that he is not only about the pics....

p.s after one week of using I started to love my P1i keyboard and type faster with it than with any other device

Now, what is maximys saying about a 2nd phone?

The picture frame looks interesting, wonder what tricks its got up its sleeve?

Posted by Dups!
How often do they put up a phone that hasn't been announced on their site? I've never seen that happen before.

Posted by doministry
I don't believe in Hecaro.
I strongly feel X1 is a P series replacement and SE's highend smartphone.

Posted by Phoner
just a concept from

Posted by Zuckabaecka
G705 in black looks really good.
Till i get my p1i successor I 'll take the g705 or the w902.

Posted by Phoner
So G705u is Orange branded?

Will the G705 have a torch?

Posted by moogoo
G705 looks great...

anybody know what HSDPA bands it supports? I have been waiting for a UIQ smart phone, but I'd consider this if it supports american HSDPA.

I have published a bunch of Livepics of the G705:

In addition 2 videos:

Overview G705
UI impressions G705 (m4v-Format)

And yes, it does feature the killer-app torch
