AFAIK we know nothing really about this device, I heard nothing specific about processor or whatever.

imho, they should use android OS instead given their specialty and experience with java platform and touchscreen(UIQ phones and Xperia) and non-TS phone(A100,A50,A200) implementation, android platform will suit their non-uiq programmers.

well a SE device with android would be interessting but I don't think that SE will use it before it isn't really successful.

No, and I think that the Symbian Foundation, of which SE is a member, was set up as a response to Google's Android OS, so I don't think SE will go and use the competition!

You can't with a W910i. XS++ and all those programs don't support A2 phones yet!

Posted by idumbakumar
i'm not taking abt the XS++ i'm asking does SE tool support ? bec we saw some vidoes in youtube that showing the modded k850i. thats wy.

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
No, none of them work. That's why I said "XS++ and all those programs". If one of them worked, everyone would be doing it.

^
you need to quit harassing people and read the forum.. the dates are clearly documented. they're also on the semc blog site if i'm not mistaken.

Posted by Mizzle
Yes, although his dates are a bit too late.

Posted by michaelconan
means will as early as 9 September?

Posted by bodeh6
Sept 8 maybe?

Posted by michaelconan
i do hope its a UIQ 3.4 or 4 phone.. then with P series.. as the UIQ website has put up a teaser.. so hopefully when SE announced the device, new UIQ will announced as well..

Posted by moogoo
Although the outlook of an announcement is always fun, I personally don't think there will be anything major announced at this next one.

I don't think SE would announce anything big without soliciting some kind of publicity through a countdown or a random "teaser" image of some sort.

Since they've been silent, it's likely the device(s) to be announced are not special enough to deserve any real attention.

I just hope i'm wrong

Posted by michaelconan
u have your points.. but if they still not coming out a flagship phone, then i will definitely go after samsung..

I dunno, there was nothing for the X1, nor the C905. Oddly they did have one for the W902, which is comparatively nothing special.

hi,

@ telefon-treff.de (german) I found something interesting about the rumoured Xperia X5:

"+8MP samt AF, weiteren "Extras" und Xenon-Blitz - es gab mehrere Varianten:
- nur Xenon
- nur FotoFlash (wie beim C902)
- Xenon & LED (kein FotoFlash)
+ VGA-Recording or better
+ GPS mit integriertem aGPS
+ 8GB Speicher samt M2-Slot | 16GB + Slot
+ WLAN
+ UMTS, HSDPA (7,2mb/s)
+ (UIQ touch 3G (vermutlich uiq 4.0)) -> WinMob wird drauf sein - sorry it's my fault
+ Release: Q4 2008 (ende) | Q1 2008 (Februar) - steht noch nicht fest
+ Mehrfinger-Bedienung (á la iPhone)
+ Bluetooth-Headset in Box (ein "neues")
+ 3,2" Touchscreen in VGA-Auflösung (640x480px)
+ UVP 450-500€"

English:
- 8MP with AF, Xenon-Flash (and maybe LED)
- VGA-Recording (or better)
- GPS with aGPS
- 8GB / 16GB and m2-slot
- WinMob 6.1
- WLAN
- UMTS / HSDPA (7,2mb/s)
- release end of 2008 or begin of 2009
- multitouch (a la iPhone)
- 3,2" touchscreen with VGA (640x480)
- price: 450-500€

can anybody confirm this? (mizzle, pk, etc)..

I don't think the will put a xenon flash + led on a non Cyber-Shot phone.

Posted by adcamb
Sounds like another X5 wishlist rather than a real phone.

Interestingly, I heard an interview with Howard Stringer earlier today and he said something along the lines of SE has made some mis-steps recently, but is humming along nicely now.

wasn't X1 announced during 3GSM? and C905 during communicasia? (not sure on this one).....

at least for X1, it was already at a big venue to debut any "surprises..."

same for communicasia if i'm not wrong about that...

"Stainless steel, chrome finnish and crocodile leather"

Hmm, sounds like a car or something.

@ patr!ck
If you really feel the need to post every little bit you can find, then at least the whole thing.

"...small leak. Be careful with the conclusions!"

Most obviously accessoires, maybe headsets?

Posted by Astral1
Could be something to do with the X1 live weblog/announcement that should be next week.

That connects to the steel/chrome stuff.
Maybe they'll package a crocodile leather case for it in the box, like the Touch Diamond/Pro case.

Just a guess.

"Stainless steel, chrome finnish and crocodile leather"

analog for Nokia 8xxx serie?

According to new SE naming strategy the last digit informs about the form factor. 0-2 - candybar, 3-5 - slider, 6-8 - clamshel, 9 - other... We all know about it. One of these profiles below, has "9" as the last digit. What does it mean? How will it look like?

I don't remember if these links were posted earlier.

i don't know if SE's new naming strategy cover the hid-names as well...

Yeah, I suppose you're right.

Or something for the T series, they tend to use premium materials.

I don't know why this hasn't been posted as it offers a little bit of new detail:

G705 - On Preview (Part 1) From Cell Phone Sail.

Once again before its announcement time I’ll write about this slider. The G705 or Kumiko.

The front part of G705 utilised glossy material, the screen is under the same piece of plastic as a whole front. The back of the phone is matte plastic while the side of the phone using chrome material which applied to the side buttons (volume roker and camera key) as well. The earpiece place next to video calling camera and light sensor is on another side. There is a Play/Pause key on the top of the phone doubled as shorcut to access last played track from music player. The 3.2 Mega Pixel camera is on the back with LED Photo Light and Video Red Light on both sides of the camera lens. The fast port is place at the very top of right side of the phone and there’s a M2 logo on the same side. The way of open the battery cover is interesting, there is a switch place at the bottom part of the phone to lock the cover. Under the cover is femiliar BST-33 battery and on the side you’ll M2 slot (yes, you have to remove the battery cover before do anything with the card). The mouthpiece is on the left of the keyboard. Typing on G705 is not too bad with good size buttons and well distinguished between them (the keyboard using different approach from C905 and F305). When you slide the phone up, you’ll notice the resemblance pattern of the speaker at the back of slide up part of the phone in matte material.

and here are some stuffs about G705 that I didn’t cover last time

* Light Sensor
* HSUPA (with secondary camera for video calling only)
* UMA Support

The bit that caught my attention is the UMA support, which may mean that you can't use WiFi for internet browsing, but just mobile calls over the internet.

Also, the HSUPA is something I hadn't heard the G705 had.

Metal and leather? Hmmm. Maybe profits are so bad are branching out into clothing for mums and dads who love each other very much

Digital Picture Frame???

Posted by goldenface
A digital picture frame might be a tad expensive for a mobile accessory, unless they can get the price down somewhat.

X5 and X2? Two Xperia devices coming? What about Hicaru then, is that coming this year at all?

Well, the Xperia phones will give a good indication about and the direction that they are heading. Lets hope that there really are going to announce the good stuff this time around.

There is a lot of secrecy about the latest phones; if PK, Mizzle and are playing with any new toys just give us a smile.

Posted by tyko
Regarding X2 and X5, i don´t want to start a false rumour ! There´s enough of that here. Maybe i dont remember it correctly
