I will tell you, again, if you will stop asking.

Tomorrow, the T700 will be announced. This one is codenamed Remi, and is built on the W890 hardware platform. Feature wise, it's 99% the same.

It'll be available from early Q4 in the above mentioned colours.

Nothing else will be announced tomorrow or this month. Wait for September, if you want to see the good stuff.

another similar phone.
I hope SE will get rid all of these similar phones soon ..
Eldar is really negative about SE portfolio and I can understand him, but SE always can change it so I still have a hope ..

Hurray!

Does it mean I can start dreaming about a widescreened clameshell again?

I know that ke-tais suffer from battery issues, but i don't care... I'm a mobile phone addicted (like many if not every people in there) and i've never been happier thant i am with my sx862 (even if it is quite crippled compared to it's 920sh daddy). And I change my mobile phone 6 to 8 times a year. So please SE, don't make me cry (again) and give us some good (not that) old so706i/so906i and likes!

No duh they have poor battery life... using 16M 3.0" + screens, 1-Seg Mobile TV, internet, etc...

And no you shouldn't start dreaming... =)

Anyway I've been folllowing keitais closely from the beginning of the year and from what I know, SEMC-Japan is basically stopping the production of phones with DoCoMo and allocating more resources to Au KDDI phones and SEMC. Maybe Goldenface, you should update that section of the front page...

Insiders like Mizzle & Xell might be able to confirm something?

Like Mizzle said, September = good stuff. Got the same info today.

I believe it'll be like C905's WiFi, so yes, b and g.
As for the range - well, that depends on the WiFi transmitter almost entirely.

Posted by goldenface
Is there a codename for the G705?

Posted by Francois3
Yes is Tatianna

Posted by goldenface
Much obliged.

i m waiting since 3-4 years for update of my k750......(dnt advice me other se phones for update)

insiders pls psl bring some gud news ogf high-end!!
some one will be there who is nt afraid of leaking info!!!!

Posted by titus1
Before the next "enlargement"...i mean announcement, SE should make sure that those handsets earlier announced will be available at that time. I wish that SE bridges the gap between the time it was leaked-announced-launched. Let say a week after it was leaked and then a month after the announcement.

Wishful thinking?

Posted by doministry
Ares may have valid info. And others here too.
(BTW would be nice to know the real reasons for cancelation of Paris, Beibei.)
There's still hope for a good smartphone, Pseries, UIQ.
UIQ 3.3 is getting better in SE's hands, that's what I know.
They have to continue Pseries...

what is use if they hv info and they cant post it???

why didnt you just get the K800 it was a great update to K750 !

Posted by prototype_bo
K800 was a good phone. stable software, decent camera, flash. after that, the K850 was just a complete mess, with a dodgy software, stupid and unexplainable semi touch screen, odd D-pad placement, and to be honest i never liked the media player (which is being implemented in all other phones).
i think the C905 will be a good phone. in fact, the model will boost sales figure, and renew the faith of SE users.

Alicia was such a cool clamshell. I didn't like the insides of the phone but the dual exterior screen is pretty innovative.

'All New Sony Ericsson Enlargement For 2008'? Hasn't quite got the same ring to it...

Posted by F-Lexx
Yes, I meant that.. Sorry for giving the wrong link.

Posted by apolloa
Well I don't agree with anything that article said. And Nokia are the same, look at the N96 for one, the only thing new is DAB-H I can't use for at least 3 years, how out of date will it be by then, they should of left it out for the UK and charged less. In fact I read an a review on the N96 today that said the thought they had the spec sheet for he N95.
And look at the Nokia 6220, why get a higher model when it does it all bar WiFi?
Yet another pointless pick on SE story.

Posted by Mizzle
I think you're missing a point here. The majority of SE's copy/paste phones simply aren't successful, and while Nokia might be doing the same thing, they've got a whole lot more resources to do it with than SE does.

Posted by apolloa
What do you mean resources? Money? And look at what Nokia innovates with, internet tablets that cost more then a laptop! I find Nokia's boring, SE have always been far more exciting.
It's simply impossible for me to say SE's phones are selling well due to it's recent financial results. But I don't see anything wrong with SE phones, there nice and sexy which Nokia lacks. Nokia copy and pastes across its entire range, it has copied SE a lot too like SE launch the Walkman brand and then Nokia copy. Nokia simply has a massive market share so can do what it wants.

Bottom line is, SE still doesn't have a device to match Nokia's 2 year old N95, bar the memory.

Posted by badassmam
Nokia recycle phones and they do well in the shops, thats the difference between and Nokia. The N96 will be good for sure and even today, I see many people with the 'old' N95. That phone has a massive fanbase so the N96 will be a huge hit.

Even so, their touchscreen phones will be successful as well since there will be a high-end flagship smartphone while the Tube is lower end but still looks good. There is a good choice of phones available. The 6220 is simply a very functional phone, seems to cut bits out from their range so a mid-range Walkman will have an accelerometer but a high-end may not or they make a good phone but put a small screen on it.

impressed me with the G700/G900 because they are do-it-all phones. A few more like those would be nice (K750 is a good example) and of course, some high-end offerings. But beyond that, innovation is needed after all, the iPhone is innovative while being quite rubbish yet it is something unique which is why it is an instant hit.

Sorry for the long post but I am disappointed that there are so many average phones from . The G900/G700 is perfect for me (the only phone that I really like from at the moment) but I will hold out for a bit longer for the JavaOne phone and 16GB Walkman. I want the touchscreen equivilant to the N95 on UIQ. If not, G900 it is then.

Posted by apolloa
@Makbil, So what, that's one phone model, it does not define the entire Nokia or SE range. The N95 was successful to people who probably only ever use 50% of it's features.

@ baddass
But the G700 and G900 are copy's as well though, they are based on the P1i and W960 both of which have been successful so hopefully the G700 and G900 also will be. Also from what I've seen the Nokia touch interface looks boring like Nokia's phones are. It certainly is a far cry from the advertisement videos for it on You Tube. I don't think it'll succeeded as it's competing against the iPhone which as we all know has a stunning interface. UIQ looks better too IMO.
I nearly caved in and got a N95, but my contract at the time didn't allow me to and am I ever glad I didn't. Now I have a G900 and couldn't be happier.

Good for you!
SE maybe in a lot of mess in a past two years, but im still rooting for them.

Posted by NightBlade
@appoloa:
How is the G900 a copy of the P1i? They're entirely different phones save for the UIQ OS.

Posted by rontysee
These days people prefer smartphones to simple java phones. Iphone showed that smartphones can also be simple to operate. Currently, uiq3 is the only platform in the market which mixes best of both smartphones and feature phones i.e simple and eye candy UI and multitasking and support for powerful applications. The only thing SE UIQ3 phones need is more powerful hardware and a bigger range. Uiq3 is the only answer to all the problems of SE. According to me, A200 platform should be used only in low end phones and all mid range and high end phones should be based on Uiq. This is the only way they can beat nokia and samsung's high end offerings.
