3.0" - great, but 3.5" would be heaven, i doubt it anyway.
Anyone can confirm screen size?

that's a laptop LOL!
realistically, I'm jealous about web browsing with iPhones 3.5" screen. it's neither too small nor too big. The SE device demoed at JavaOne is a perfect example.

thanks pop lover.............
any more info on hikaro??
Posted by siker
Uiq only supports resolutions up to 240/320 atm. So i'd expect the screen to be 2.8 max.
Posted by gauravsali
2.8 or 3 inches will be enough

what is Project Capuchin?
What does it do, exactly?
Anyone?

Project Capuchin is just a way to ease the task of programmers and means nothing to us users.

@Pop_Lover
if it is a replacement for Paris...will it be close to Paris regarding the looks!?!?I think it will, because SE could not made a brand new look in these few months....

Who said Hikaro had only been in development for a number of months, anyway?
I personally think that Hikaro is the device (or one of the devices) shown in that JavaOne video. It/they also had a slide out qwerty keyboard and a large screen (though no info has actually come through yet as 'evidence' that it will have a large screen anyway). But I suppose this just goes to show it should be very much a high-ender. Hence GPS, wifi, 8mp cam, 8 Gb internal memory, all that would also fit in nicely.

I still think the JavaOne phone was an early X1 prototype. SE never ever gives away what they have behind closed doors, so I think the guy was just referring to the X1 that they plan to release later this year. Makes sense to me. But argue away...

Well, as I was saying before, they test many, many devices. And supposed Paris protos were a real beasts, before the hardware reduction and cancellation.
BUT this Hikaro, will be a new design to some extent, with the experience of the last year's tests.
Just hope for a new hardware..

Probably right. But who knows...

Yeah, I certainly hope I'm not right and they have something up their sleeves, but I get the feeling I am right about this one. Dunno why. ...Actually, yes I do know why: SE's recent track record.

Probably fixed focus, right? Well if SE annoucnes this 3.2MP G series slider, they can probably do what they did when they announced the G700/G900 combo, release a twin that is higher spec'd. Like 8MP spec'd, right?

a little OT, why is it that Sony Ericsson hasn't made any phone having 16M screen colors??thanks in advance!

because you don't need one. trust me
Posted by NoTnERb
^hahaha, you do have a point, though other manufacturers have made phones having 16M colors, i still stick with SE's 256k, its all about specs for me!
Posted by apolloa
16mil colours means no touch screen as no ones invented it yet for a mobile phone. Maybe Nokia's touch thing will have it?
But also the higher the colour count the more battery power is used to run it. I used to think the same but as SE have proved and as the scientific explanation will tell ya, the more colours doesn't mean a better screen. And I don't think anyone on here will say SE screens are poor in any way despite the 256 colours.

Far from it, they have some of the best screen around, crisp and clear without compromising the battery life, although a proximity sensor to switch the screens off when placed to the ear would further enhance the battery life.
