Yeah, I think I'm going to give a proper T610i revival photoshop a go tomorrow. Should be fun.
Also, I'm not so sure this is supposed to be a T610i revival. Mizzle suggested it is one, but we have to wait and see what
themselves call it before we can truly judge it for what it apparently is.

agreed.
I hope it's not, because i don't think it will make the image of SE better.

@Muhammad-Oli
That will be very interesting I can't wait to see that really, make it a competition even.
I seen a reversed T650i black/silver case for sale on eBay, not OEM of course but it too looked quite nice.

I really do hope its not a revival and basically a successor to the T650.I'll be due my upgrade again in March 09 so it would be out of the high end C series or something to replace my T650 with.

Thanks for the idea Goldenface.
We have now got this up and running here. So if anyone hanging around this thread wants to have a go at doing better than this leaked T610i revival attempt, you're more than welcome to join us! Come on, it can't be that hard to do improve on this!
Cheers guys.

As I posted on Mizzle's blog:
Seems to me that while Remi is channeling parts of the T610 (but so did the T650), it is not a T610 remake in the strictest sense. SE may market it as a T610 successor, which is great as far as advertising goes since it will likely hook consumers who bought and loved that phone.
But it seems to be “just” another T-series phone, with elements of T-series phones gone by. I was going to say that it is likely a T650 successor, but the lack of AF makes me question this.
Still, it’s a nice-looking phone.

personal fanaticism aside ... the T610 was revolutionary, it was my first SE phone and lead me to believe what they were offering would continue. but i see they like living in the past.
metal casing looks terrific though, wouldnt mind to see how weighty it is (i may be the only person who doesnt mind the weight of a device so long as its justified)
but its good to see SE want to rekindle that fire that they let linger for oh so long, i have a feeling that when the sept releases come, SE will need to show investors SOMETHING to get them back on board 2 quarters of sliding profits will make many ppl wary.
whats good with hiring an INTEL or IBM for a mobile chipset? re-source your components see if that can help you out instead of holding steady with a platform from the darkages ...

Woah, woah, woah...does anyone see what I see? The fourth to last picture? That is not a standard WM interface screen. Looks like the Xperia panel they used also reskinned the WM interface to match the visual style of that panel. Hmmmm....Looks like the Xperia thing is a little more than just home screen-deep.
ETA: Or perhaps not. It may just be settings screen for that particular panel and nothing more. We shall see.
Also, I think this has been touched on before, but is it assumed that the W960 successor is the unknown device shown in the JaveOne conference a few months ago?

Basically SE is trying to remove the rather boring WM UI elements on the OS platform

Yes but it's also a good reason for the seasoned SE users not to be in the first batch to buy the X1. Judging by past experience I would wait for the initial feedback and fw updates before investing there.
Posted by S4k1s
The X1 is not touch friendly, the stylus is used 90% of the time >.<
Also, I dont see any new gui in those pictures.
Posted by bider
If Hecaro was only a rumour and we really won't see any P1i successor till SymFound is established. Black xperia will be my next phone!! I simply love this device!!
Posted by Tigershark42
X1 is absolutely beautiful. Its so thin for all that power and all the specs its got. In black it looks amazing. BTW you can see it reviewed (well, sorta, you will see what I mean :S) at http://www.bengalboy.com/modu[....]opic.php?topic_id=1107&start=0

ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Now THAT looks sexy. Damn you for posting those pics LOL. And I agree looks like only one crappy normal Windows interface screen there, so well done SE if they are following Touch Flow. HHmmmm, is the September release date still confirmed does anyone know? I should just stick to the G900 as it's fast enough and does all I need but the X1 is stunning, is it worth an extra 200 quid to me, hhhhmmmmm????

After all, we have seen Ericsson/Sony Ericsson products in the movies ever since Tomorrow never dies!
in casino royale, k800 was 'the' james bond phone. At that time,
was pushing the advertisement of k800 (since k800 was the 1st cybershot)
i have two guesses: the 'it' phone of Bond can be C905 (for this year
is regaining the cybershot glory) or xperia (the 1st WM
high end device)
The M600 was in Casino Royale as well.

yup. i know mate. so is w90o and the other host of
/ericsson phones. Sony products were well advertised in casino royale since Sony pictures produced the film. Vaio laptops, Sony tv and sony digicams are there as well.
but it was k800 that was advertised/marketed as the "Bond" phone.
even released a special commemorative silver k800 for casino royale promo.

Indeed. Some nice Walkman devices would be V Nice, there seem sto be a lack of them.
At least we know that this years flagship 16GB touch Walkman is in the pipeline.
They would do well to have it announced and on the shelves before Christmas.

They'd do well to announce and release it within the same quarter, tbh......
Great T610 successor as well...not(I'll keep T650, thanks, T610 had top spec cam for it's time, not some cheap only-good-enough-for-a-walkman-phone, non-AF garbage)...I hope PK wasn't talking more hot air about the 5mp T650 replacement......

That's the one I'm watching. Right now, that's the only thing that could sway me from Shiho. Of course, final specs will determine that. I anticipate a 5 MP AF camera for the Walkman and at least a 2.6" screen. I'm kind of hoping it'll be in the same style as the W960 with a numeric pad, but we'll see. Full touch wouldn't be so bad. The OS is what concerns me, though. Frankly, for technology's sake, I hope it's WM...but then for usability's sake I hope it isn't.
Posted by goldenface
I should think 5.0MP cam wouldn't be too much to expect. If they can fit it in the C902 then there is no reason it shouldn't appear on this device.
Plus, history has shown that the flagship Walkman cams megapixel count is always the same as the previous years flagship imaging phone so this years Walkman should have 5.0MP if history is to repeat itself.
Something along these lines wouldn't be too unwelcome:
Posted by laurenke01
Precisely. And with a lot of the most recent stuff having a more Sony/SE Japan feel to it, I wouldn't doubt the Walkman phone flagship would somehow have a similar feel to a Walkman music player.
ETA: It also wouldn't surprise me if the Walkman flagship is similar in styling to the X1. Previously, the Business flagship and the Walkman flagship have been based on the same design, and the X1 is the closest thing to business we have at the time, so a keyboardless X1 with the soft-touch paint and a more serious bent on music and media would also be welcome. And as such, we'd essentially be back to the picture you posted.

Well I for me it would be nice if they could step away from the 'branded phone' way of doing things and come up with a device that was 65% music player and 35% phone - let the music take a priority for a change.
A DLNA certified, 16GB, 10mm, 2.4" touch screen monster - oh and by the way it can make calls as well.
Posted by laurenke01
DLNA--yes. I hope that's a feature of all future WLAN-enabled phones. I checked my Vaio and it has DLNA, so I'm excited to be able to use it.
I think my perfect Walkman would be the W960, but with 802.11b/g, DLNA, 5MP AF camera, GPS, FM transmitter, and quadband GSM/triband HSDPA.
I do hope this Walkman flagship is impressive. They've always treated their Cyber-shot and Walkman brands well, and the C905 is very impressive, so I hope this one can pull out all the stops too.
Posted by goldenface
Yeah, I just purchased a DLNA Vaio and VGf-wa1 music streamer so a nice phone is what I need now to complete the network. I'll be surprised if the new flagship Walkman isn't DLNA certified really.
Is the codename for this new device Kumilko?

Yeah, based on UIQ...to be more precise, on Beibei's platform
It will also have DLNA and HSDPA

I was told the next announcement to be the last one this year.
But that is not set in stone

I'm curious which one will have the last 5mpx for this year of the upcoming phones.
nice to see that UIQ didn't die yet, I also heard it didn't die but couldn't believe:)

so I see the walkman 16gb will not have 5mpx, right?
