@makbil
So, you got P1...
I was also thinking of it...
But I'm definately leaning into X1... It looks like a great device.

dito, Read the full revue of BengalBoy and must say I am impressed. However looks like it wont be released in China where i am currently living... (not on the chinese product page!) so will give me an excuse to fly to hong kong again

thank you makbil, the original iphone was only 8 but they released a larger version afterwards. expandable memory is cool but what standard? SE has a hard time choosing lately.

16GB? Pathetic? Wow, some standards you have...

I don't see how increasing the space inside a phone is impressive. There are far more ways and better ways for Sony Ericsson to improve their portfolio.

seiously....
imaging flagship = C905
bussiness flagship = X1
walkman flagship = ???
only 1 more phone to excite us..no more P flagship as xperia line will take over...you hear it here first

But that walkman flagship can't be HECARO. c'mon there must be one more!

I think he G series has taken over from the P series. But would you buy a Windows Mobile phone? I'm split between the G900 and HTC Touch Diamond still. I can't decide, even though I've never held either. I just know Symbian UIQ is better isn't it?

I'm not so sure anymore.
I'm also split, but between P1 and X1.
And I slowly turn into X1, just because it offers latest technology, is more advanced and has much better hardware. In fact it looks like a real successor of Pseries. The only thing - I don't like the slide-out keybards.
But G900 offers still 208mHz, no HSDPA etc... Just WiFi b. No flash support. Old crap, when you want a NEW device.
And Diamond has almost ALL what is needed! Nothing is lacking, maybe 5mpx camera. Great processor.
Plus - WMobile synchronizes well with the computer.

PK said once that Paris has lot of "sisters", IT may look like Paris but specs should be different, why not ??

phone arena review the c905 but is a prototype version

@doministry, my P1 arrived today. I must say the extra RAM makes a huge difference but apart from that I find the P1's design inferior to that of the P990. Two things that bother me are the keyboard and the menu design. Why on earth would SE move those buttons to the top of the screen? It's definitely more difficult to use one handed; and the screen lock button, I wasn't aware I used it so much
Guys, I did consider waiting for HTC Touch Pro but it will probably be available here around new year and the fact that it is WM and will be quite expensive for some months meant the P1 (used, half price and 1.5 years warranty left on it) was the logical choice. I will probably use it until close to the end of the warranty then see what is available.
X1 is not a choice for me, I will just observe what is said in the forums about X1 and form my opinion on that.
Posted by londonlad123
The x1 panels look very fluid from recent youtube videos. The camera Ui is more Sony Ericsson than the uiq version. Might end up being a good choice. Its one of the few phones that has everything from little things like metal construction, fm radio and led torch to hsupa, gps and VGA capture.
But yeah you're right it is still Wm but at least we get MSN built in.
Posted by ares
Have you seen g900 camera interface? Its uiq and 'more SE', and has touch focus.
Makbil, i use p1 one handed perfectly, its far more usable than p990 without flip
Doministry g900 has wifi b AND g, check your facts straight. And you can bet the camera is much better than any htc

makbil correct, currently i use P990, i would never buy p1(imo u should have got already available e71
htc touch diamond or e90) if u were definitely in need a of new phone.who knows u might like them.may
be u could given it a try.Basically P1 is not much of improvement compared to p990, u might get bored
with ur p1 soon.
imo it has many drawbacks
Horrible red casio calculator like keypad.(cool and pleasant backlighting on P990:) )
no dpad
no keylock
No lens cover
No dedicated call end button
not a great camera compared to P990
Missed call indicator located at better position compared to P1[edit]
overall P990 designs seems to be superior
@ boybawang,
its better to type, no complaints here
(as i said imo) But why does it look so horrible, with red keypad backlight. and keys look like those in casio calculator
P990 has better keypad looks & back lighting is also very cool with light violet & blue (definately looks amazing in dark)
And i also feel the overall look & material complements well in P990

Horrible red casio calculator like keypad
[Its better! Don't judge by it's looks]
no dpad
[AGREE]
no keylock
[not so important IMO]
No lens cover
[not so important IMO]
No dedicated call end button
[NO NEED! it's touchscreen!]
not a great camera compared to P990
[AGREE]
overall P990 designs seems to be superior

Yeah. Have you seen the x1 camera Ui? Its everything the Uiq version wanted to be.
Have a look at a youtube walkthrough of the x1 by ocworkbench (camera Ui at 04:15). Touch focus included!

.. and who thought the T650 was its update?
Posted by m.h Croatia
Mizzle, t650 is its true update.
Everything after that is just for marketing (and SE needs that a lot after the disastrous last quarter)
Posted by Mizzle
Sorry, I didn't express myself properly. Didn't mean "update". The correct term would probably be "re-make".
Posted by patr!ck
Mizzle, do u want to say, that a "real" T610i successor is in the pipeline?! It'll be great :)
=>> OK, 2 late - sorry =(
Edit: Oh, a retro-style mobilephone like in the beginning of SE with technic of 2day? cooool.
(i hope you all understand me ^^)

Wow! I'll love that.
I missed my T610. It was stolen in 2007, after 4 years....

wow!!
and if will have great camera it will be mine

@Mizzle
A sequel to the T610 story sounds fantastic! I lost mine a few months ago.
The specs should be very interesting. I still see people using T610s, it is a very popular phone.
What have you got for us Miz? Any more info yet?

But who cares about G900???
I don't.
I was only considering P1 which has WiFi b only.
Posted by Mizzle
No great camera unfortunately. Quite slim, too. Similar colour scheme as the T610 one. Runs A2 platform.
Posted by patr!ck
That means 2MP non-focus and no flash? :(
Posted by Mizzle
Nope, not quite.
Posted by m.h Croatia
I think its a 3.2 mp with af and flash.
I hope some company will finally make phones thinner than 10 mm. Companies started on this number and they don`t make any thinner ATM.
I hope this one will be at least as thin as w880.
Posted by Mizzle
Not that either. It's close to W880 in thickness/thinness.
Posted by Lunion
Oooo a new T ?
Posted by patr!ck
@miz: Does it have over 2MP? I think it'll be a low-end-phone, unfortunately :-(

Any chance the T630 would get an update / remake?
btw, the T610 solidified what the T68i promised.
Posted by Mizzle
paba,
Yes, and it's a mid/high-end one.
Posted by darknoob
mizzle,
What is its code name ?:)
Posted by goldenface
Sounds like it will have a nice metal casing too, or at least some premium materials to show off.

The T610 had a far greater impact than the T630, it looked great when it was launched and everyone raved about it - one of the first phones with a built in cam. It was a hard act to follow.
@Mizzle
So it will have a silver metal housing
Posted by Mizzle
The side is extremely similar to that of W890. I'll post some pics in a day or two.

Here is a first picture of Linda, new Sony Ericsson slider. Features:
- Design mixed between W760 and W910
- Successor of W580 (W910)
- Phone has 3G video camera
- No A/B buttons
