I have pre-ordered my G900 which for me is the best SE UIQ phone. But I have no doubt we will see a tope end device at some point. If Nokia are charging £700 retail for the N96, which doesn't add much to the N95 platform then surely SE can release a phone at the same price point that blows it out the water?

You guys make me laugh.
There is an SE employee here right now, under your very noses and you can't even see it. Someone needs to go to specsavers.

Are you insane? 3G iPhone has touchscreen with multitouch, safari web browser, 16GB storage, accelerometer, and you can expand functionality by adding new apps. Its also almost half the thickness of the C905.
Don't get me wrong the C905 sounds great for what it is a high end feature phone. It is not a smart phone, though, and to compare it to the iPhone is not really fair. If all you want is a phone with a great camera then you can't beat the C905, so if that is your criteria then yes, it beats the iPhone, but only in the area you care about.

I would say the C905 totally annihilates the iPhone in the camera department. As for the rest it my be thicker but is it not smaller in the other measurements? And lets not forget front facing cam and A2DP BT, etc etc. But if it wasn't for the iPhone then the G900 and G700 my not of come out with thumb friendly interface?

I'm waiting for SE to do a Q phone, as in James Bond. It will be the phone that has everything including a laser and missile launcher.

Why in the world would SE release the C905 with only QVGA video recording? Have you seen an N82 or N95? Full VGA video? Jeez. I don't get it.
And I totally agree, iPhone is for an entirely different audience. You can't really compare just as to say "C905 kills iPhone" is a total joke. C905 has phone and camera features iPhone can't touch. iPhone has multimedia and usability features C905 would kill for. C905 is for the high-end phone freak and camera lover. iPhone is a smartphone for the masses.
I'm pretty disappointed about the no P-phone.

i am sick of this waiting games. Nokia and samsung don't do that. i hate Nokia and i don't mind samsung but I love sony ericsson but what can we do, they love to tease us. but i am ok with the c905 i don't mind that phone.

And wtf is all this about C905 got nothing new compared to the competitors?
It is a Ultra-High-End IMAGING device. No other decive on the market can matche it. Open your eyes and LOOK at the specs, it is full with new innovations.
QVGA video capture is pretty lame for a flagship imaging device that may not actually come to market for awhile now. Other companies have been there & done that months ago.

Also I was just checking out SE's C905 web page. It only lists 850 and 2100 bands for HSDPA, in other words, no US support as AT&T is currently only using the 1900 band for HSDPA.

Another (and maybe equally interesting) question is whether this "P" is the one we already have seen leaks of (at the time 'codenamed' "Paris") or if
will drop an (until now) unknown phone out of their sleeve...?! [ This Message was edited by: kalbekke on 2008-06-17 15:54 ]

m-one said this on his paris thread (translated from German using google translator):
"What Paris for a successor? Power slow times
Paris is the direct successor of the P1, which from September will not be delivered
It has in the past several modifications of Paris, where it is not clear
some of the final version.
Now everything seems to be noted that the highest SE "development stage" to throw the market.
We will soon learn Hopefully, without further delays."
"Xperia devices with Windows as well as UIQ devices include
Who knows, maybe it will soon become a "third OS" for discussion to give
Let us concentrate initially on the Known"

I say again, "what P?"...because Paris, as a internal project, was abandoned, like beibei, its now clear. However, there were, and there are, more smartphone projects...
Therefore i ask...what P...and i am not asking the name/codename, i am talking about hardware/design combo.
And what does Eomer mean, is very important.
