Shiho's thickness is due to the capacitors that are neccessary for the xenon flash. There's no better way of illumination and unfortunately no thinner solution for it atm.

Spot on m-one, the R&D at
have been looking at thinner modules for quite some time now, still think they've done really well with Shihi cramming it all in, may look a little bulky but is not all that bad considering its features.
Maybe next year sometime we may see the thinner module created and the same features in the body of say the t650i, (hopefully)

Just curious, are you saying this because you are more into camera phones, don't have much use for a smartphone, or because the P10 is not as high end as we are guessing it is? I would find it hard to believe that a flagship UIQ phone would not be as impressive as a non-smartphone with a great camera. I'm just curious if your opinion is based on specs/performance or your own personal usage needs.

i preffer QVGA 30fps rather than VGA 15fps...
currently... i hope it will be VGA 30fps... (if there will be a powerful CPU and and a powerful GPU then VGA 30fps is an easy task.)

If I got Shiho Id be so frikkin dissappointed I didnt get the touchscreen device. Then next thing you know thanks to the market presence of the G700/G900 a whole load of great UIQ touchscreen apps come out n all and then youre stuck with the old and uninteresting input methods.
Shiho looks great, but I dont need astonishing camera performance from a mobile, I have a Cyber-shot camera already, if I want great pics Ill use that. I just want decent quality (G900 quality is way more than decent in my eyes, good enough to photoshop, good enough to print A4, good enough for uploading onto the web, I dont see what else youd want from a cam really.)
I want a multifunction smartphone capable of full web browsing, WLAN, great apps, good multimedia functions, sharp looking design, good usability- keyboard and touchscreen, nice UI. Thats all. If P10 does that, then I have no reason to bother about Shiho 'having the edge'. On a standard laptop screen you will hardly notice the difference in quality of most pics, IMO. Cmon P10
(On another note, I read somewhere that the human eye needs at least 17 fps to recognize a set of frames as a video. Below that it will look laggy. So 30fps QVGA will appear to be better quality stuff)

the photo quality of the phones have reached acceptable levels now.
i use my phone most for web browsing through wlan... doing some excel works and video recording...
i have most of them in my P990 but the performance and good Video recording. so i want those from the P10.+ what i have now in my P990

i respect your opinion, but many people have standalone mp3 players, and many have standalone cameras, this shouldnt stop us from wanting more, because when they reach 8mp and 10mp, they can easily master 5mp for example, if you know what im saying.

I want it to bring the smarter, more modern more 'fun to use' elements of mobile electronics to the table. Cameras and mp3 players of very passable quality have been around for some time now, we take that for granted usually. But full web browsing on a mobile device requiring only the flick of a finger for so much functionality- that is new. The ability to install new apps isnt new- but it keeps adding more depth to its usability. In essence, the smartphone starts to have certain functions youd get with an ultra mobile PC, only that it fits in your pocket. But of course, at the end of the day it just depends on what you in particular are looking for in the device

Here, here! I couldn't have put it better myself. I would never make a decision on a phone based on the camera, unless everything else was equal. If my choice is between a great smartphone with just a good camera or an ordinary phone with a great camera I'll take a great smartphone any day.
