I have no idea. I think maybe he is attempting to make a name for himself to impress new members. The thing is, anybody who visits Esato regularly knows that he is no expert, and really hes just a big joke.
I suspect he is just a naive schoolboy, because that is the only person I can imagine coming up with such an embarrassing idea.

What do you mean by 'motion' gaming? Accelerometer games like Super Monkey Ball?
Posted by Tigershark42
It means gaming using the camera as a motion sensor.

Looking at mizzle's blog makes sad reading:
"It looks like some have spotted the poll here on USEB, this time with the subject of what you guys think will be announced on the 17th. Many seem to think that Sony Ericsson will announce a few high-end smart phones, and I do understand why you’d think so, as just about every sign has been pointing to that. But stuff gets postponed, and that’s what has happened in the case of Beibei and Paris.
These phones will not be announced on the 17th, unless there’ll be a major change of plans just moments before the announcements on the 17th, although I extremely doubt this, seeing the announcement events are held in so many countries."
Now back in the end of 2007 (Oct/Nov), PeterKay was hinting that a prototype unit he was testing had to be sent back for an upgrade.
Surely
can't be changing their minds already and figuring it needs a second upgrade?
PeterKay, is there anything you can say on this subject, for example have you had to return one or more prototype(s) back to
lately?
If true and a high end UIQ phone is not announced next week this will be a huge blow to all those waiting on the next generation UIQ flagship device

C905 really nice... 8.1, amazing SE, finaly something good from them. Ofcourse, the 2.4 screen is pure crap, it's a shame that SE doesnt get that big screens are IN right now. Other than the screen everything else is really amazing...

Bigger screen = bigger phone.

Mizzle, any more breaking news on Paris? Release date in particular?
Its been mentioned many times, Week 39/40 which means end of September.

Well the screen at 2.4" is the same as my W910i's screen and I find that to be really awesome to look at, and it is certainly big enough! I wouldn't want a bigger screen unless I was buying a smartphone, so this definitely doesn't bother me!

WOW great news
is shiho's camera sensor using CMOS or CCD?

yep Remi is a new codename
will be a slim mid-end device

2.4" is the bare minimum for me. I don't think an extra 0.2" would make the phone that much bigger but it does make a significant difference in real life use.

I did hope Shiho had a larger screen, slider form factor allows to acomodate it, you can see there is enough space between the keys and the screen to put at least 2.6' (increasing resoluction too), but oh well, I'll have to live with it ...
And what concerns me is that there aren't many shortcuts for camera functions besides the two gaming keys above the screen, my k800 has these keys and 4 more in the keyboard, which will be very uncomfortable to use if it will be a slider ... Touch Keys around the screen (ala C902) would suit it better ...
Just my thoughts
Posted by samuraitor
nothing to exciting so far about shiho...
Is it gonna be a smartphone? Smartphone is a requirement.
Posted by Rifqi_Aziz
Like Mizzle said, there will be disappointments... the 2 posts before this are the examples.
For me? No, Shiho is awesome.

@rifqi_aziz, Actually i think he meant that the postponement of paris and beibei is the disappointment.

Yep, you're right. That's what I was talking about.
So, another disappointment is beyond expectation.
BTW, regarding the camera shortcut of C905, I thought (or hope) it would be similar to SO905iCS:
- some of keypads
- d-pad
- 4 keys around d-pad (there are 6 but I guess only 4 can be used as shortcuts)
Even the volume keys are acting as help display and switch between still photo and video.

Ok, maybe the Dpad also has shortcuts, but in previous phones are for changing EV and alternate between still camera/video, and i was refering to other more helpulf functions like change flash mode/ Focus Mode/ Picture Size / Self Timer etc ...
@Mizzle: I hope you are right (you're putting your behind on this
Oh and where is the front video call camera?? There is a litlle hole but it looks more like a light sensor than a video call camera
Cheers for the helpful info guys!!
Posted by Mizzle
alexlt,
Oh yes, they do. Try to hit '0' in camera, and you'll see a bunch of shortcuts.

I can't find the loudspeaker from the C905.... Is it on the left side, on top or behind the slide of the camera lens? Did somebody know that? A question for our experts.

x86Daddy,
Yes, it's got US 3G and HSDPA.
K850 - no GPS
W760 - no flash
c902 - no US 3G
I was considering an N95-3 for a while there. Now I'll hold out for the c905.

They have a habit of hiding the loudspeakers - they did the same with Paris. I suspect it might be visible when the slide is open.
As for the videocalling camera, one reason why we can't see it is this might be the EDGE version of the handset, like the K800c.
Posted by murderjon
goldenface: I think you mean, if the slide is closed, what i believe too.
I hope that it's not so small like the W880 for example. The loudspeaker must explode...

Great phone. I am expecting a cybershot slider phone. But i has only a 2.4'' screen.not good. Also i am searching the loud speaker of paris and this also. I think it may be at sides. Bec cam slider will muffle the speaker when using cam.better to be at sides.
But why still no stereo speakers?
Posted by Mizzle
C905's focal length is 5.91 mm, so that'll be a nice zoom compared to other SE phones. Its aperture is fixed at f/2.8.

isnt it too small for an 8 mp cam??5.91?? shouldnt it be atleast 6??

I'm wondering if it has a graphics chip like the W900i had. Will the White Paper appear soon do you think?

Do you even know what it means?
Posted by se_dude
its just that n95 caters a focal length of 5.60 for a 5 mp cam.so an increase .31 mm is to accomodate 3 mpx more. The sensor is obviously not a standalone winner against the n95.The smallest sensor with 8 mpx is the canon Ixus with 6.2 mm..and i have the 5 mp version..it sucks..but still hope for the best
Posted by Mizzle
The focal length has nothing to do with the size of the sensor. I think you're mixing it up.
