its fair enough saying that and the tragic things that happen in the world are terrible but that stuff happens and is in no way affiliated to my life. And i have every reason to feel like shit that my mum had a cancer scare my gran died, my girlfirend and son have left me and i got jumped and got kicked the f*ck out of the other night. So i have every reason to feel crap! everyone goes through shit and just because other people are suffering more doesn't mean you can't feel bad yourself!

I just lost three friends and my will to live.........
Posted by goldenface
Jeez! What happened?
Posted by masseur
I buried my Nan today who was the last Grandparent alive.
as sad as that is on its own, it makes you stop and think about life (and its meaning) when the last of a generation has gone, bringing the inevitable one step closer to yourself not to mention that its probable that your own parents will be next, though hopefully not in the near future...
Posted by londonlad123
@mass
Is the next stage to find out if there is a true meaning of life.
Posted by masseur
to be honest, lately I'm not convinced there is any meaning, its probably all down to science that we are here.... we don't exist, then we do and this is our one chance to exist in the whole of time, then we don't exist... but thats probably a whole other discussion
anywhichway, all we can do is make the most of it while we've got it...

My Nan passed away at 65 in 1997 a month after Princess Diana..
it was horrible my mother was away and i got the call off my saddened aunt she never told me I just knew ..
I didn't cry I kept strong for my mom and sister!
Sorry to hear for your loss btw Masseur comfort your mother she will need you
Posted by masseur
my Nan was 85 so she had a good innings but we're a strong family and have coped fairly well.
its amazing how much weight feels lifted once you get to the wake once the "goodbye" ceremony and buriel is all over. Throwing the dirt onto the casket in the grave seems to provide closure quite well, but that not to say she is not remembered fondly.
Posted by goldenface
@masseur
Sorry to hear it.
It was a great blow when I lost my mam after a long illness a few years ago and I guess we all live relatively happy lives until you have to survive the loss of a loved one.
I remembered happy times, thats what got me through.

I used to work for 2 OAPS basically housekeeping,
I got so involved with them that when I got a card for my Birthday 2 years ago it was the worst card ever the Husband of the lady had passed away it was a shock to the system,
I don't think I could ever do a job again like that,
it must be harder for Nurses I swear

I still have my great grand parents alive thank god!
I dunno how i will cope with a death in the family, of a close relative

Posted by OffLineR
I just wanted to post that I was suffering from hangover. That was why I feel crap today.
