^^^ Nice photos you have there. Yes, I have the same problem. With the default settings on the 902 it optimizes for photo quality (i.e. the opposite of most other camphones which are optimized for user friendliness) and in less than optimal light this means slow shutter and wide aperture which requires a very steady hand or a tripod.
Having said that the 902 is still, two years after it's introduction, the closest thing to a real digicam. Just look at the camera UI. It is more of a Cyber-shot than anything SE has released so far.
I'm not holding my breath that anything like the i-mobile 902 will ever come from any of the big camphone makers.

yea it would be sweet if some one made a home brew OS for it that would do auto bracketing and capture in raw

i do agree with you. there seems to be less hope of nokia or se using ccd sensor or putting better sensors in the camphones. ironically, apple's new fashion phone seems to be taking better pictures than these main stream mobile manufacturers. at least iphone's colors reproduction is accurate and vivid.
here is the link to the pictures taken with new iphone 3g.

well it kicks fujis ass:)

You mean the comparison shots two posts up? I think the Fuji shot is the best. The F40fd has an amazing lens and a whopper of 1/1.7" sensor (compared to the more typical 1/2.5" in most other P&S cameras), while the i-mobile 902 doesn't resolve much better than 3 MP, i.e. pretty much in league with all other current 5 MP camera phones.

K770i and P990!
Full size.
The same cradle that came with the P990 can also be used with the K770 but it looks really silly with the phone sitting sideways :s

The difference a CCD sensor and long shutter speeds makes on low light shots:
Auto mode (shutter speed 0.25 seconds at ISO 50):

The only "comparable" cameraphone (using flash or daylight pics) is the zn5 i think... But in low light,i've never seen nothing better during 4 years...

steven70:
Those photos are HDR edited or editer in other way right.
Don't get me wrong, they came out very nice.
The angle of the shot, with the grass is artistic and a very nice touch!

With a good camera phone you don't need to HDR edit a photo to get good low light shots... It's a pity that the big phone makers today can't make anything that even comes close to the low light quality of the i-mobile 902.
. . .
I miss my camera phone

Has anyone tried if this phone works with (3) phone company? Any one in Sweden perhaps?
Posted by AbuBasim
It's a triband GSM phone (900/1800/1900). No 3G/HSDPA.
Last year I used the phone on vacation in Stockholm without any problems.
Posted by woxiz
Yes i know it's a GSM. But will it work with the 3G provider (three)?
Posted by AbuBasim
If you can use for example a K750i on 3 then the i-mobile 902 will also work.
. . .
Almost outdoor shot (inside a car during daytime):

This phone still amazes me given it's price. Pity Samart seem to no longer be making it and also haven't developed a replacement
Pity also that the Chinese phone manufacturers still seem to be producing shit with wildly inflated specs and all sort of gimmicks rather then just making a good camera phone that works well like the Thais did

Does anyone else still using this phone?
Posted by AbuBasim
Good stuff there Shuuro. Yes, I'm still using this phone but only during the weekends.
Posted by Shuuro
nice to know that someone is still using it. when I bought it, I thought it won't last beyond a year.but its been 2 years and it is still working fine.

Apologies for missing photos above. I dropped my Flickr account as the site is banned in some countries here in the Middle East. The full size shots are still available in Esato's photo gallery as linked in my posts above and on previous pages.
I won an iPod nano Chromatic 8GB. Here it is paired with the very good Sony MDR-EX71SL earplugs that came bundled with the i-mobile 902:

I've had my 902 for a couple of years now and have taken thousands of pictures and videos from all around the world. I wandered here wondering if there is a firmware update which will make the camera recognize a micro-sd card larger than 1gb. I am also looking to find a better camera phone with all of the options of the 902 and more. Any suggestions?
