WTF?

Posted by sniper_supra
Yeah, 5, 6, or 7%, you name it.

Bottom line: Its not worth removing the glass cover for the purpose of increasing the photo quality of the cam...

Cleaning the phone's interior was fun though.

NOTE: K850 and K800 has the same identical CPU...

Is there a free way I can correct my CDA in order to use SEUS

I have had the T630 K750 now K790 and thinking of getting the K850 with an 8gb micro sd card since prices are coming down

No new firmware yet?

Posted by Anaferon
no, and maby never will be

Posted by harry20larry
Well peeps, thats my k850 out for the count. Broke today, randomly the centre button refused to respond, however, when I press down, *, 3, or some other number, the phone acts in a way that both the buttons have just been pressed, . Off to the service centre then to be repaired, the phone is looks brandnew, so I hope they keep it that way or give me a new one. After that, onto ebay you will in vain attempt to get some cash for my new phone! C905 baby

Posted by sniper_supra
KD mp3 player is so much better now, compared to sony's built-in player.. version 9.5

Posted by richardc1983
This phone is shite to sum it up in one word, i am sick of sending it back for repair as soon as my contract is up im off to another manufacturer!

Posted by sniper_supra

Good day to you guys , well after months of using this flag ship phone i finally got my first BROD just a while ago luckly for me sony ericsson update service rectified it to normal working condition.. it really sad to up to this date that they have not been able to rectify this problem .. what i can safely say is if ever it goes down on me for good i am going back to either 750 or the k800i and i will stay there for a while, it is hard using a phone and wondering if it is on or off when it is in your pocket but this feeling i know has been in every one head since using this phone..

I am very optimistic that there will be a final update for this phone ,that is if every one still have it by then LOL

k850 isnt se flaghip phone..is the shitship phone...

Posted by burmistrz
I will buy another one, or two. Great phone with some bugs.
Just wait for better price

Posted by Wild Child
I have 2 k850i's,1 c902 and will buy again, havent had the issues some have with this phone. Does what I want for a phone, cant expect it to do what a real digital camera would do as far as pictures. But it does a fair enough job for me.

Posted by sniper_supra
but IMO, its much more stable now unlike when it started. The very downfall of this model is that firmware creators were slow to develop solutions to the phone's problem.

If only they have thrown firmwares like R1FA035 in the very beginning and leap beyond expectations afterwards, this model could have thrown a better fight in the mobile community

I'm keeping this phone until a C905 successor kicks in.

still no new FW on setool support :/

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

/sarcasm

That was awful.

Sony have really let us down on the maintenance of the k850i -

It's not as bad now as it started out at, but you get the feeling it's too little to late. I don't even use mine anymore. Everyone around me either has a iphone or a blackberry.

I'd still go SE over the other major rivals though

Posted by vegetaleb
I have random reboots now even if I press on the shortcut button!!!
Of course then it's setting the ugly laser theme!

Posted by way2quik
It's funny 'cause right when I pressed 'Turn Off' for my alarm, the phone just shut down. It was not a reboot, but a total shut down. :S
Oh well!

After months of having R1F, definitely more stable, but not perfect.

Posted by sniper_supra
maybe SE should be hiring more intelligent and innovative programmers.

They act real sloooooowwwwww and they are so blind to see what's going on.

Anyways, everchanging flash animation looks good on this phone.

Posted by zjjunior
BROD with the R1FA035, it's seemed so stable, but....

Posted by xironghostx
LOL @ my k850,

I do think it needs to be set to a service center now

Dust under camera-glass
Loose screenglass
Random reboots with latest FW
Flash makes every pic a white mess
Painting on buttons is partly gone
"Hang-up" button is wierd

And now is the keypad surface coming off.

Best cybershot in quality

No harm is done to it and i havent dropped it once on the floor. Great job, SE, great job. You really don't deserve your salary.

Posted by Hiron
Waw! Could you tell us how long do you have your K850?

Mine is 2 months, still perfect

Dunno what will happened later...

About firmware, I thought there is some more new firmware rev coming. K850 get the same software project inheritance as W910 and K660.

My dog pulled the usb cable once accidentally and drop it down. It was just 2 days new. nothing happened. no brod ever (i've run all the firmwares), no dust just squiking back side. In every update its getting better. in a few days i'll cellebrate its birthdays !! and hopefully i'll have my new phone !! (c905 or w902 second choice).

I think i've dropped my k800 too and k700 once or twice. (OK. not all the time), might work ....

OMG OMG OMG

Vodafone Slovenia has finaly uploaded the new firmware! It took them 9 months! The last option was the old shitlike R1DA038 and now its the R1FA035. Thank god... I've just tried taking a photo with flash at close distance... I was shocked to see no flashburns.

Well, I hope it won't die now.

> Dust under camera-glass

Run your finger nail carefully around the edge to remove the platic cover. Be careful to maintain the sticker that holds it on.

>Flash makes every pic a white mess

Clean your light sensor with a toothpick

>Painting on buttons is partly gone

Mine too.

>No harm is done to it and i havent dropped it once on the floor.

Given I have dropped mine a few times the case has survived much better than my previous phones.

Well, mine is Week 38 build, which means that it is one of the first k850 phones that made out from the factory. I bought it 21 october last year or something.

I forgot to mention that the fastport looses sound with my headphones a second, and the charger wont connect sometimes.

I wont do anythign to it myself because if I do the warranty is gone and the keypad-surface and loose displayglass can't be fixxed for free.

N85 in a month or two, so no need to really worry anyway

Can you explain more this procedure? Is it true that if you remove this glass the quality of the cam will improve?

well, yeah, it did improved somehow but not to the level of '"Wow" but in the level of "hmmm.."
It feels empty without the glass cover.. I placed mine back after a short time.

Yeah, looks quite better actually on some pics without the plastic

Are you sure about this?
man, if that's true then finally another firmware is confirmed.
Can't wait to see what's in store in the next firmy.

Posted by GUCCI.011
Ye I hope that's true, id already lost faith in getting a new update.

Posted by lauris47
I was dreaming about new firmware last night . I dream about 2 dreams in a year . So new firmware for k850 is important to me !

Posted by Duran
well

I've got to say, i haven't been following this thread for maybe 2 months..and I have to admit that my k850 has been VERY stable. It hasn't crashed on me once.. even on my holiday where i made 500 pictures. The pictures turned out pretty good as well!

For the first time im actually pleased with my k850

"Ja, wir testen im Moment eine neue Version und möglicherweise wird es danach noch eine geben"

"...Yes, we´re testing a new Version..."

But in my opinion it is better to buy a K810i
Less bugs and really better photos

I translated that post in english :
connect: K850i Many owners complain about the forum software bugs.

Steffen Grosch, Product Manager, Sony Ericsson Germany

Penny: This amazes me. The K850i was the first device with a new platform, such devices for free and we obviously very intense. Moreover, keeps us on our support problems to date and the K850i, there's really no abnormalities.

connect: For those who still have problems: If they really have a software update give? The device is already a while on the market.

Penny: Yes, we are currently testing a new version and perhaps it will then enter another.

connect: Even for customers with a branded device from your network?

Penny: Yes. Generally, however, it is so that the operator does not always give each version released, but just skip it.

connect: The built-in mobile phone update service from our unit reported that no new version was available. About the PC software update service "was but a new version available.

Penny: The update directly via the phone is not yet possible. We could Although the service unlock. But because of the large amount of data would be an update for customers without a specific data quickly very expensive option. That is why the fix works currently only on the PC software.

connect: The control with the softkeys on the screen and keyboard integrated into the four-way navigation is apparently not so good.

Penny: The size of display and control elements will always remain a compromise. When can we have a K850i large display and a large numeric keypad to offer a compact area. But admitted: This requires a bit at the beginning of acclimatization.

connect: Will the approach pursued?

Penny: No, in the newer devices and the next we are back to the classic keyboard layout.

connect: The dual card slot, however, found many friends.

Penny: Also it's in the near future rather not give more.

Sorry but i'd rather have my K850 than a K810. My K850 was stable before getting BROD. The K810 is old and boring.

thats great news! i'm very happy

Blue Ring Of Death. Happens when the phone freezes. The circle around the camera lense turns blue and the phone stops functioning. Sometimes, a simple reboot will work, sometimes the phone is toast, without a more complicated reinstall of the FirmWare.
