Me too I had a heart attack when my K850 took the aspect of a BROD for 4sec but it was just an ''ordinary'' reboot!
You can say what you want but he old good 037 was and is still the MOST STABLE FW

I disagree...

R1F is far more superior to 037 in every aspect...

Agreed.

037 was a reboot-paradise (for me) and even slower.

Posted by Tervel
using the last 3 digits, such as 037 brings out too much confusion since there was R1CA037 and R1EA037. For the sake of the statement of the person about stability, I believe he is referring to R1CA037 which for me behaved as stable as the current R1FA035 firmware only slower.

Never had any problems with any of the web feeds on any of the firmwares.
I have access to 6 K850is with all different firmwares and none of them had any problems.

I have read a couple of comments regarding the R1FA035.

I can confirm that this firmware is the most stable and def the best one yet.
Im not saying its perfect, but its getting there.

Not one single reboot on the phone, The only thing i had the other day was when i was changing my 4gb card to my 8gb card the phone saw the card but for some reason the theme went back to the standard one, ** The theme that the phone was using wasnt on the card any way.

I just put it down to a teeny glitch.

Other than that the phone has behave 100% and i know from the other 6 phones, they have also behave well as well.

Never got BROD from R1CA029 till R1EA037.
But why this f***ing BROD came to me when I'm in R1FA035 that supposed to BROD free?

Just a couple minutes ago my K850 (R1FA035) restart for the first time and then.... BROD!

Posted by Lillebror
Haha, i just smashed the flash in my k850 Was taking a picture and then there was a huge flash and it sounded like a bulb smashing.. Back to repair again again..

Posted by EARNEST
My K850 is on repair again...This has never happened to my old K750 before... RIP K750. I miss you
Burn in hell K850.
Waiting for C905 to make sure that SE won't fail again..otherwise, SE is dead to me

How can I repair my BROD's R1FA035 K850 since Kulankendi doesn't have that firmware yet?
Can I downgrade the firmware?

Posted by aremaboy
Rifqi, I'm sorry to hear that BROD. Just run KulanKendi, flash it with R1EA037 APAC-ANZ, change CDA to 1201-8437, and after that upgrade to R1FA035 via SEUS.

Hey guys can someone help me please. Kulankendi support is next to useless and I got a problem with my K850.

I have upgraded the firmware to R1FA035 and now have the "Operation Failed" on EVERY java app/game.

I have downloaded the KK client and the necessary firmware but it says that my phone is not compatible and is not supported.

But the KK homepage says it is!

Any thoughts anyone? Want to go back to R1EA037 and then back using SEUS.

Thanks in Advance, GG

(BTW the newsfeeds on the standby screen are cool.)

Well are OK... They have problems with most of the A200 platform phones... The K850 was one of the first to run on this platform and that's the reason why it is not stable and has soooo many bugs...

KulanKendi and TotalGSM are the best tools for K850 (and other A200 phones) flashing operations at the moment... They are not free, but they worth these days. They are better solution than waiting for the next version of XS++

What's your suggestion to upgrade my K850 from R1EA037 to R1FA035? SEUS or DaVinci?
Thanks.

Posted by strizlow800
Well if you have older firmware and want to upgrade it to newer one, you can use SEUS... It is free. I suggest using online flashing clients when you have not other way out... So in your case, if I were you, I would use SEUS to update my phone

Posted by larry 68
Still no reboots for me but for the 2nd day running when I switched the phone on the startup screen froze, didnt have this problem before, still living in fear of BROD.

Posted by strizlow800
Well if BROD happens you can flash your phone with the above mentioned softwares. Or update it through SEUS now to get BROD free firmware for free.

same here, no random reboot after 1 week but when I switched on just now the startup freezed for almost 10 secs. But so far it's a stable fw.

and I notice in Media player when you fast "scroll down" your song list there's a tiny white indicator dot, never noticed before.

Rifqi said his phone BRODed with R1FA, so... really BROD free? Or just BROD delayed? I hope it's just an isolated case.

Try to use track id when listen on radio or try shoot a video and save it with button on the side of the phone reebooot so its not stable

Posted by JiSm
I found another bug. After about 2 - 3 months of using the phone you have to find a new model to stop you going insane from reboots.

Posted by ThomasVLima
Mine already freeze 2 times with R1F...
Only solved if take the battery off, then put it in again... :/

Well Today one of my friends purchased the K850i On Thursday Last week.

Today the phone switched of and thats it, Its completely dead.

No life in anything, doesnt even show to charge, no brod.

So he took the phone back and got a N95 8gb.

Now he just needs apps. Tell him to RETURN the N95-2/4 (8GB models) for the following reasons:

* 8GB MicroSD's already on the market for around 30-40 quid. Soon 12GB will hit by end of summer. The cheaper price of the N95-1/3 + 8GB MicroSD will benefit him.

* The USB is NOT 2.0 on the 8GB versions!!! The MicroSD versions ARE! If he plans on filling just 1/4 of that with music or videos he's going to have a hell of a time.

Screen is not really that much better on the 8GB versions.

I see a LOT of ppl, even the great Plankt (his sign now states the K850i TRASH), moving over to other phone platforms/manufacturers!!

Me After I fix this data settings issue, I'm going to an E51 until 2nd wk of August then to the E71.

Who can post the k850 R1FA035 firm for use with cruiser box? i want the western euro version je je, thanks.

I've got another bug to report with R1FA. Please confirm, if it happened to you too.
Today the Activity Menu key (the one binded together with the Call key) stopped working. It wasn't hardware fault, as the screen lighted up if I pressed the key. A reboot sorted it out, but I never had this problem with the previous firmware.

I see aloe confirmed the "reboot after shooting video" problem. I gather that using the center touch key to start and stop shooting video doesn't cause the phone to reboot - will give it a try.

I don't believe in SEUS anymore.
My K850 updated to R1FA035 thru SEUS and I got BROD.

I will have to go against your words.
I went from R1E through KK to R1F through SEUS and no issues whatsoever.
Not a single reboot as of to date nor BROD.

I went from R1E through KK to R1F

Please tell me how you did this on KK client it says my K850 is not supported??????

thanks in advance!

Posted by hragsarkissian
are they going to release the firmware with face detection ? or was it one of those stupid rumours as usual

Posted by vegetaleb
BROD can occur even after 5 or 6 weeks it's a random virus and if it's true that R1F is not BROD free then SE is really an a*s*ole and even C905 could have BROD...
Do you know the ''operation failed'' bug that first begun with K750? this same bug traveled from k800 to some k850 too and SEUS can't repair it too!! 3 generations of K and this bug is still there

Are you sure that you have selected DB3150 or A2 tab on KK Client? There are two tabs there in case you missed them.

@Rifqi Azis
Why should've you flashed via KK and then updated via DAVINCI? Why didn't you flash your K850i directly with R1FA035 via Davinci? That was a lot of money. I believe that Davinci can fix BROD as KK Client.

BTW, KK Client will upload R1FA035 very soon. He has confirmed.

R1F broded?

so I guess that the faulty firmware theory might be correct.
even if you updated from R1E to R1F, the BROD thing could still be passed on.

The only solution I see now is to completely reformat the phone - flushing out the old firmy before reinstalling the new.

Even via davinci and KK, flashing doesn't format the phone but only replaces the old one, so the BROD thing is still there.

I don't want to brag, but my phone is not just stable but also increased its battery life - before: 2% after 2 days; now: 63% after 2 days.

I sent the phone via SE center for clean installation from R1DA to R1EA031.

I hope this theory is correct.
