i'll recommend using Any DVD Converter Professional.
use the following settings to get the best possible mp4 video:
video
codec : mpeg4
size : 320x240
bit rate: 192 - 512 (384 average)
frame rate: 25 (or 20) never exceed if u want videos syncd. with audio
audio
codec : aac
bit rate: 96 being average
sample rate: 44100
channel: 2
and the most important setting is A/V Sync
set it to default
you'll never have any videos out of sync. if u use the above programme with the settings mentioned.
people often complain abt mp4 sync and regard it as a firmware bug.... but in actaul they dont know what is the actual prob.
i never had sync prob even with R1CA037 if u dont change the orientation while playing. and that's it.
You'll see the difference.
well, how about when I tilt my phone? that is when this phone totally wrecks the viewing experience.
Everytime they borrow my phone they can't help but spin it around, even while playing videos.

You can either wait till they release the 02 firmware (if they do), or flash your phone to a generic firmware that the r1f update is available for.

Have encountered a problem trying to update my K850i on SEUS.
Current FW is APAC-ANZ R1EA031.
SEUS recognizes the phone and downloads the new firmware, APAC-ANZ R1FA035. It begins to upload the FW to the phone but after staying on 0% for a few moments an error message appears: "Error: Update failure", and requests that I disconnect the phone and start again.
I have tried doing a master reset and updating, and even tried the update using a different USB cable. No success!
The last FW update I did to R1EA031 several months ago was problem free.
Anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated!

But on the new R1F firmware I found under Organizer that there is a new option called light which allow you to use the camera light as a torch..
Don't remember seeing this on another firmware..

My phone is Orange branded and I can see the option of light too. it turns ON the LED and not the camera flash. wish I could get rid of Orange stuff, as I am in Pakistan so don't know where I can get it done.

I updated firmware to R1FA035 using Davinci. I backed up my contacts, messages and data using MyPhoneExplorer. The contacts restored correctly but I now get an error when restoring the messages that there arent enough slots (?). I have restored a backup with a similar number of messages and never experienced this problem.
I have tried master reset but to no avail. Anyone got any ideas or experienced this problem?

May be its checksum fault because we missed R1DA037 (or what whas the exact name of previous FW) - just guessing

hello guys, my friend is having a problem with his k850i. yesterday we decided to update his phone because he has the 1st firmware which is lagging with it ui, he has R1C and its from china and its sim free. We check SUES but it said we have the latest firmware. R1C is the latest firmware for china k850i?? until now no updates?? or i should used XS++ to convert it to a european version??

The FW should always update from any previous version. Anyway, I had tried to update to R1EA037 when it first appeared and had the same problem we are both experiencing now. Thought it might be a problem with that particular FW version.
My OTA says the same thing: "Your phone already...."
Still looking for a solution!!!

My MMS just decided to fail!!
* Checked friends on provider in same area code ... their ok. Different phones.
* Checked Customer service, nothing wrong with billing account.
* Checked network support teir 2 - nothing wrong on billing, switch or SIM/IMSI profile. I specifically asked NOT to purge pending msgs ... I still have another 48hrs to receive.
- So I purged my MMS from my phone. NOW after some 20 times trying today ...
Support site is NOT sending MMS push settings to my phone. (not MMS, not WAP, not Internet)!!! 
WHAT the FRAK!
- Oddly the phone can pickup these settings thru the config wizard.
- I've also tried the W580i, and K790i settings as THOSE TOO are carried by my provider.
- checked 2 forums nothing wrong on providers end, nobody with debranded K850i having these issues ... I'm going INSANE!
* This for me is a no brainer that I've fixed HUNDREDS of times for others! THIS IS why its driving me UP THE WALL!
* I'm down to two things. Either my wife didn't want to me to see my buddies bachelor party pics sent to my phone and made a call into favors at Rogers to have network guys pull the plug OR its my SIM gone BUST!

I used to have a problem that has the same effect before. My phone doesn't accept any MMS settings nor Internet settings. there's just this blank space under internet and mms settings.
That is when i reflashed my phone via SE center, free of charge.

I just don't want my phone being tilted while playing videos, coz the video speeds-up chasing the audio, and the sync problem appears...

The quality of the camera driver/firmware in good conditions is great. Other conditions need some work still.One thing I did notice in the latest firmware is the web is extremely slow compared to my previous version which was 031 on this phone. Will compare it to c902 in about a week.

I went ahead and bought KK credits, but it does not display the CDA or anything as I need to manually punch it in where there is no CDA to be found. Unless the only way to find it is to PM the admininstrator of KK. =/

I have noticed the battery seems to last a little longer on r1f, though I did get a restart the other day (I never had a restart using r1ea037). I wasn't doing much, just received a text message and as i went to open it the phone restarted on me.

Upgraded to FA035 for a week now from EA031, noticed a slight bug. checking to see if anyone else has it.
here's wat happens. I get a missed call but it doesn't show the missed call event, it just brings up the my shortcuts menu. it doesn't happen all the time though, sometimes it shows the missed call so i dont know wat's wrong =/
could it be the settings or another firmware bug???

Strange, as I changed the CDA of my K850 using KK. Try the kk forum, kulankendi might take some time to answer but always answers any query and usually is quite helpful.

If you want to change CDA in KK Client, DO NOT delete the dash. Just move the cursor to the digit you want to change, but NOT the dash. It will work perfectly!
If you delete the dash, KK Client won't be able to show the dash anymore. It's KK Client bug.
One thing, CDA xxxxxxx/xxx is NOT for K850. Your phone will be rejected by SEUS.
And 1200-4400 is not CDA. I's the code for Generic Firmware.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, getting my phone from SE the CDA was 12345678/123 and the area was changed... I used to have the Western-Europe one, but now it says America and the Spanish language has some things different according to American Spanish...
I want to change it back to Western-Europe but I suppose I have to change the CDA, too, because I want to update via SEUS again. Any help to change the CDA to the right one and how?

To change CDA, buy a credit for SE Client from www.kulankendi.com . Run the client, download any Western Europe firmware, for example R1EA037 GENERIC MAIN CID 52.min and R1EA037 WESTERN EUROPE FS CID 52.fsm. Change CDA to 1202-5694. That's the correct CDA for Western Europe. Flash the phone and then update via SEUS to R1FA035 or later.

well that was useful....so we decided to un-BROD my mate's phone with kulankendi given that voda aren't going to release the new f/ware.
But when I start the phone now it's in the horrible non-voda colours and then says that there is a "Configuation error. please contact your network operator or service centre"
Definately chose VF-LIVE-A firmware which was the same as was on there.
Do I need to select 'clear user code' or 'CDA Change' - I don't want to make the phone appear to have been unbranded as I might want to send it back to voda for repairs and can't be arsed to argue with them about it.

I am completely fed up with SE. I decided to update my generic western europe k850i to the latest firmware, in the hope to speed up the phone.
Now when accessing Java applications I recevie an error message stating, 'Operation Failed'. I have reupdated, master reset, formatted the memory card, but to no avail.
I called T-mobile, as they are my provider and they are sending the phone for repair. Interestingly the lady at T-mobile said that she has the phone and is completely fed up with it restarting all the time, and said that there is very little T-mobile will be able to do - it will need to go over to SE, and that it's known to have faults.
I don't care if I get it back, to be honest. I used to love SE but I think the quality of this phone is terrible, both physical quality and the service from SE that comes with it.
