different firmwares but same cam driver makes different.
example 031 and (new) 037 have same cam driver, but it as well produce different quality (not big different, but still different).
a other thing who is different between firmwares is the flash sync (but it have same cam driver)

I really don't understand what causes BROD - it always attack random phones. And sometimes, once BRODed can be BRODed again...
If we can only point out the most common feature of all BRODed phones, maybe we can somehow counter having one.
I haven't experienced BROD, but I am praying that I might not have one.
Mine is R1EA037 APAC, upgraded through service center once.

but in K750 I used to use my 0.92 camera driver in r1ca021
when I changed the frimware to R1B the quality changed even I used the same camera driver

I have found the performance (specifically texting with T9 whilst listening to media as mentioned above) considerably better with F35. I have no scientific means of testing, but certainly it doesn't seem a whole lot slower than it used to even when not using the media player. To me, this was the biggest performance issue, as I often found myself doing those two things together.

There is a theory regarding bad firmware upgrade strategies when upgrading at home. (Fault lies with the firmware engineers not end users) Not sure if that's true. Personally I've never upgraded my firmware and never gotten a BROD. *touch wood*
I did noticed something regarding the restarts though. When using a light theme like harry20larry's "Tell Me" I get restarts once in a blue moon. But if I switch to a more resource intensive theme like the built in "Laser precision"(Flash Menu, accelerometer utilizing wallpaper), I get restarts almost everyday.

I think BROD is caused by a corrupted system file most probably the display driver,because when you turn on a K850 ,right after the keypad is enlighted(step where it freezes with BROD) the display is activated then 1 sec later the sound...

So...phone is much faster. Even mass storage mode activates faster.
All photos are made in standard settings, photo quality is fine. forgot how to switch night mode on :-/

I too updated (actually Unbranded from the Rogers Wireless firmware).
Nicety's that I didn't have with the Rogers Firmware:
* Better WebPage (SE in memory)
* Sounds & Alerts: Key Response - vibration available for touch keys.
* Calls: Smart Search
* Security: Automatic Keylock (my GOD I'm so happy I can disable this stupid thing when I don't need it)
* Messaging: Web Feeds (YES FINALLY!) - however the standard 5 do not update
. Standby Ticker, Show in Standby~ I cannot wait to see this. Funny how can do this with existing technologies, while Motorola waists money and tried to market this same thing with providers. They called it something (only AT&T has the server for this).
I haven't seen anything else new, though.
Of note I'm having a problem accessing the full HTML page of Esato. I really want to do this so that I can have the RSS Feed set. Not like I need to save data any longer thanks to my plan but its STILL more efficient.

I think APAC-ANZ_FS delayed because they didn't finish SO_CHINA_MAIN yet...
The other FS here (such as Western Europe, Adriatic) using GENERIC_MAIN firmware...
I just get a BROD (firmware rev R1EA037.) Sent it to SE Service Centre and must wait 1 months (that's 30 days!) to get my new K850i. They replaced the old ones.
It's funny because they said that it can't be fixed with EMMA (official SE flasher). But why third party programs (like DaVinci and KulanKendi) can fix BROD?
I just think a correlation between BROD and touchkeys vibration usage...
I never get a BROD before. Just one hours after I tick an option to vibrate phones when touchkeys pressed... BAM! It's get a BROD!
This new feature added since R1EA031:
Key response menu in Settings -> Sounds & alerts, allowing the selection of sound or vibrate when pressing the touch sensitive buttons.

Hiron, you might be onto something but I think people had covered it a few months back. Non the less I do recall using the touch vibrate as soon as it became available on 031 and I BROD-ed pretty quickly. Problem is, the 2nd time my phone BROD-ed it was just sitting on a desk and I just heard it do a little vibrate and I just KNEW that it had reboot/BROD-ed, sure enough that was the case. I flashed to R1CA037 and stayed there until a week ago when I put R1FA035. Just as a precaution I did not turn on the vibrate touch buttons and so far ( knock on wood ) I've been fine. I have spoken to a guy who deals with fixing broken (read mis-flash, crashed, brod etc) phones, who was able to recover my K790 after it was butchered by Wotan, and he told me that he believes that BROD is associated with corrupt files during the flash process.

Fraid I can't back this up, I got a BROD whilst it was in pocket, however I did have haptic feedback on. When I reflashed to EA037, I did not turn them on, I didn't have one restart...

My friend got BROD a couple hours after he updated to R1EA031. He turned on the touch sensitive vibrate feedback as soon as he updated.

just to share my experience with BROD, ive got none so far. i have k850 for 7 months, i use SEUS every time a new FW show up. normal usage (few drops from pocket, dust behiind lenscover), key vibration on, i am not using mp3player though. seldom restarts but almost always during fast viewing pictures in media. i can say i am satisfied. camera is not what i expected but i love the design even after 7 months.

well, ive update it last night
mine so far so good
i noticed those changes
- really fast media player
- the menu in general got faster
- pictures now have better quailty and colors are better
- with flash when using iso 100, and -7 brightness, gives me really better pictures than before..
- in media player setting, there is something new called auto update
by the way, i have 2 things i wanna ask..
wat is BROD??
is there any diffrences in FW versions between asian , middle easr, europian??
i thought its only the langaues change, but when i read about phones problemd, not only K850, many og them ppl dont have it here, but they have other problems??

@Buntoo I don't remember that I was advertising the 031 FW,and if I was it's because AT THAT TIME BROD was not very common even with 031,I upgraded to 031 and I personally got BROD with the FW 031 but after 1 month in the middle of a travel in Paris,it took me 1 month to repair it because I losed too much time with SE centers,then I flashed it with the old 037 with KK and since then I am waiting for a new BROD free FW.

So... what i noticed with new FW
1. Much faster. Everything. But still not perfect. E.g. try to type in contact list some name ( DEN etc), it is quite slow.
2. Icons for saved URL was changed (now it is a star). But favorites still cannot be opened. The one i saved on pc and transfered to my phone - not working, cannot open them.
3. Auto update in player - to reset songs and re-find them again ALA restart the phone = auto update does same..re search for all media files.
4. I still don't have icons for HSDPA .
5. Photos quality at night did not change.
6. Day light photos are nice.

XS++ can recognize and show the information of the K850, but that's only it.

You can change your CDA via Davinci or other paid service. Or wait for the firmware become available for your CDA.
