Anyone have some balls?
Davinci seems to have the 902 firmware available for flashing on the 850 as "test" firmware. I have been thinking about giving it a shot as the hardware is near identical so it seems likely it would be like a 750 to 800 upgrade.

Y doesn't the 850 have a auto rotate main menu or web browser like an n82.....?:(

are you sure about that?
coz if you are, then R3 would not be a dream anymore!

im 100% sure you can flash it on the phone, im not 100% sure the phone will work with the firmware however.
I am thinking it might be just like the simple 750 to 800 that every 750 user did which was fantastic. I am honestly thinking about the flash but worried of bricking the phone

Not free from davinci
Frozen I am excited to see how this turns out, I too am sitting here on the flash screen deciding to go through with it or not. As long as it doesn't brick everything should be golden, but the brick thought is scary

Seems like someone on HowardForums claims the battery life is a lot better on the ROGERS R1FA035. We'll see about the generic release!
Posted by kavy
The guy who commented was running the 31 release not the 37 release so thats why the battery was crap. The battery is the same as RE37 to the new rogers release.
Posted by shernon8
is the ROGERS R1F firmware only available on Davinci.. or is it available on SEUS as well..
Cant wait for feedback from FrozenWaffles to see if 902 firmware works on K850i
Posted by SupermansZ24
I think they should at least be offering it at a discounted price considering they are using their customers as testers.

Not available on SEUS, most likely will be quite a while behind davinci.
Posted by shernon8
davinci should give it out free because the cutomers are taking a risk.... its a TEST frimware after all
Posted by frozenwaffles
well so far its not working, just comes up with a file system error and cannot begin the update...

DAMMIT, thats not the answer I was hoping for. What is the exact error? Is it the file size mismatch error?
Posted by shernon8
dammit.... i guess our only options are Davinci, SEUS or XS++
Posted by kavy
Why would they offer the 902 software as an option if it would not updatye that is retarded.
I will look into this some more
Posted by shernon8
total waste of money.. i cant beleive they expect us to pay for a test firmware that doesnt work.
Posted by SupermansZ24
Wow, that is just wrong. I always had good thoughts of DaVinci but not after this, if infact it does not flash the phone properly.
Even though they say its test firmware, they can't expect customers to be their guinea pigs. I thought they would have at least tried it themselves a few times to make sure it worked
$16 to flash to C902
$16 to flash back to K850i
Big waste to me
Posted by kavy
As far as I know Davinci does not charge you unless the phone flash is complete, if the system does not do the flash you do not lose credits so therefor is should cost nothing.

can I have some screens of this option to update...

Thanks for the screenshot!. You should censor your IMEI out of that pic, just in case, you never know.

opps, i edited it out hahah
Also hate how photobucket resizes makes it almost impossible to read.

And wha if R1FA is the revision only for Rogers? Like R1DA039 for 3UK ? Or R1EC001 for orange, does anybody know it is official FW for all variants?
Posted by frozenwaffles
hi guys, im not exactly sure what the rror was but it certainly didnt work. i did however update the generic file for my k850 for the new R1F firmware. seems much better phone now!
and yes no charge unless update sucessfull!

Guys, something is going on with SEUS...
When I tried to update, SEUS told me "update not avalable, but the "continue anyway" button was gone...
So maybe they removed R1EA37, and are now uploading R1F
Posted by Jerry2k4
That's something new

Yeah but it still says,
"The Software on your phone is up-to-date" Im on R1EA037
Posted by CruSifiXken
Yeah, I know, but the fact that you can't acces the current firmware by clicking "Continue anyway" must mean that something is going on....
Posted by Jerry2k4
Like said someone from our forum who's working in SE
"Maybe till the end of week whey do this..."
I hope so...

yep not at this moment, hope later..
im getting the SEUS thiing also btw,
Posted by masada1971
are we gonna get old till we get a new firmware or what??
Posted by CruSifiXken
I think I knwo why C902 firmware doesn't work on K850i...
The C902 had 160MB internal memory, and the firmware is almost 50mb...
K850i only has around 64Mb internal memory...
So the FW just won't fit...
Posted by Jerry2k4
Wrong adress between FW file and flash in phone, anyway if we can flash it to C902 xenon will work ok? I don't think so,touch keys near LCD is next disadvantage.IMO no way to convert K850 to C902.
Posted by The Barron
i'm now getting exactly the same thing here, so here's hoping! Dreaming of R3, but hoping for any update, esp as SEUS updated itself for the 3rd time in as many days

Perhaps not entire, but part responsible for the driver of apparatus and the part of the code responsible for recognizing the face. At one time it managed to make something like that on Sagem phones, I had X7 and X6-2.
Post Scriptum: Somebody here expects in R3 Walkman 3 on K850? And after all we have it but differently he is called, but it is identical around the III Walkman from series W.

I still cannot get my laptop to install the USB Flash Drivers so I can try SEUS.
I get as far as removing the battery, pressing C, and connecting the cable.
My computer finds SEMC Flash Device, and then my computer totally freezes up.
Anyone got any ideas what I can do to try and fix this?

Stu, there may be something wrong with your USB chipdrivers (of your laptop) if you have a CD with the drivers, i suggest you do a reinstall or download the latest drivers for your laptop.
Also, you'll have to remove the k850 drivers and do a fresh reinstall of it,
good luck,

SEUS is getting on my nerves, we want our new fw NOW!
