Same here, night pics are awful, they come out black if I use the flash unless with portrait and then they are either poor or tooooooooo bright.

Posted by iqmaster158
i advise to clean lightsensor frequently (use brush) to get better results with flash.

you need to use the compensation.
reduce the compensation with the keypad...

Clean your light sensor. It's been covered hundreds of times in this thread.

Then get a different phone because the dirty sensor problem is an inherent flaw with the K850i.

Posted by Tervel
I have to say that I also got MUCH better results once I cleaned the sensor. I carry a tooth pick now and use it once in a while. I've thought about finding some sort of Very transparent tape to put over the sensor so it doesn't trap any dust but not sure if this would work.

Posted by shawon
That's unusual... I can't seem to update my K850i 02 from R1EA031 to a later version using SEUS....

Posted by obentou
I just took a look at some videos of the C902i, apparently the UI speed is just around the same as the K850i. The apparent choppiness compared to the A100 platform doesn't look like it's gonna be fixed.

Posted by Anaferon
some people have now R1FA035, say that video plaing more better, JP was update from 8.2 to 8.2.1 and now Media Menu faster

Posted by vegetaleb
Let's pray it's BROD free this time :s

Would it be available branded for 3 on Emma?. Also if I go to a SE service center will they be able to load it (R1FA035) for me?

Cheers

Posted by vegetaleb
Emma server is an Intranet network that only SE technical centers can access

Posted by buntoo
when will the new firmware be on SEUS?
and is it the final version?

Posted by naveensiva
how long will it take to get into general server from emma ??

man.. this is like waiting for ages to get a firmy.. that too not a perfect one...

how depressing....

I've laminated my k850i since first week I bought and it has been protecting my phone very well. No dust will ever stuck in the sensor and it doesn't affect the sensitivity.

Ok - I took the plunge and upgraded to the R1F firmware - so far so good, but then again BRODs crept up on me last time a few days after a flash so we'll see. From what I can see this firmware feels faster, but then again I've been at R1EA037 so I can't speak for its behavior as compared to the last FW.

R1EA037 was the last FW before this one. Did you mean R1CA?

I check like every 5 mins to see if the update is released....

Posted by Wild Child
Went ahead and flash to the R1F on divinci and all is good so far, seems a bit more responsive from the 031 firmware on this phone.

Posted by mr versatile

can't understand why you always use JBenchmark and not FPC Bench...

Jbenchmark gives a differente results every times you launch the tests and you always need to press a button to leave the display light on...

try FPC Bench MIDP 2!
http://www.dpsoftware.org/download.php

FPC Bench 2Mb digit takes 150" on R1EA037...

Can't say that this program is very consistent either - I ran the 2mb multi-thread test and got 184 seconds (R1F035), rebooted and ran it again - 160 seconds. That's HUGE variation in results.

this is nutz. I couldn't get pass through this finalizing thing.
It is as if it's eternal.

How could I get new firmy this way?

something happened to your phone...
every time I start the tests I've got always the same results (in the same condition)...

Another BROD, I dont even use the phone to avoid the stupid BROD. But happens anyway, and will happen to all users of k850 and bugged firmwares.

I hope sony release a tool to unbrick this sh*tt* phone

Will happen to all users? well, i've been waiting.
But so far nadah..

just waiting for a new firmy - for the new stuff it would bring.

Posted by will5
well sniper, I dont even use the phone, all day battery out, fresh start.

bum, BROD, I dont even have the phone with me, It brod in stand by.

I cant buy credits from here...so, SE is no more for me. SE will play with somebody else money, not mine, IŽd learned the lesson..

i hope next time, fix brod (in the sony way, obviously) cause seems too much aleatory, maybe in next firmware we can get brod in a fixed time...

Believe me, people with bugged firmwares, will brod! I dont use any game, any application, nothing! just 1 sms per day, not calls, not media center, all to avoid brod....

Hi everyone,

Can I just buy some credits from Davinci, and then flash my UK phone with the America Generic software?

Will that cause any problems now or in the future?

Thanks,

Tom.

To the earlier poster, the C902 *IS* faster than the K850i, seems noticeably more speedy moving around the menus. Tested with my O2 handsets, latest SEUS firmware on both.

what about mp4
is out of synch or not in multimedia

Posted by CruSifiXken
So BROD is still present in this one? (R1F)

Posted by vegetaleb
No Will5 didn't say he updated to R1F and anyway this FW is still not available on SEUS ,most probably tomorrow, then you have to wait about 48h before seing people here complaining to have BROD with the R1F IF this virus is still included in this new FW,now if after 2 good weeks nobody says anything about BROD + R1F so you can update safelly

Posted by Adil786uk
Had the firmware for a few days now. Running well. No crashes yet.

Posted by SirRobin
And are there other changes in this new firmware?

Posted by masada1971
when will be available through se update service??

Posted by mr versatile
I am seeing that nobody seems to answer the question being ask by many, ok some of you have this new firmy thru davinci what is the difference .....mp4 is that working , battery meter is that working, bluetooth connections to headset was a bit shaky is that working properly , by chance camera pic colours more vivid ,,please somebody say something let us know if to quit our anxity for this new firmware ...OR IS IT ANOTHER FIRMWARE FIX.
