What do you mean by this? We can't use XS++ 3.1? What will 3.2 do for us?
XS3.1 doesnt support k850, 3.2 will support it, meaning we can add our own flash themes and customize alot.. correct me if im wrong
Posted by rdnymllnsktr
Ah. Can't we customize our phones with SE Tool 2 Lite?

Mate, it is less about what we get, its what we paid for. Most of the people are angry here cause SE gave them a phone that would restart, crash, not produce good pictures when it is meant to be their flagship model. Now that SE have launched another phone that has improved features most people think it is only right that they get them too.
Solid post - I'm with you on that one

Im so annoyed there even thinking of releasing this new 8mp phone before they have fixed the k850i.

I'm selling my K850...
New firmware, no changes at all...
I will be getting a Nokia N82.
Seems a better choice right now.
I'm sad cause I really like the form factor of my K850.
But the true is bigger than the love in this case: crappy pictures, specially at night, random freezes (never had this thou), etc.

I was thinking of doing that too (getting an N82), but then I remembered that I much prefer the SE interface compared to the boring symbian interface.
I prefer SE interface over symbian because:
Small things like smileys & animation.
T9 is far better.
The most recent recipients are listed when sending sms, save you searching through contacts.
Clock showing when using web, or sms.
Notes can be shown in stand by screen.
Music player has far more bass.
MOST OF ALL BATTERY LIFE !
I just hope SE sort out the bugs with their firmware.

those are the same things that kept me using S.E.
but in the long run and after all this "love" treatment from S.E., I'm just sick of the same B.S. all the time.
The haven't fixd the K850 and they are releasing another model.
At least nokia launches upgrades all the time.

Is R1F official?
seems kinda ripped firmy from w910. I mean, no official release yet for some reasons.

Soon in nearest SEUS

N82 is a good phone indeed
BTW. I bought SE G900 yesterday - if I find it better to use (faster and more stable I mean) than K850, I'm gonna say 'bye-bye' to my K850 soon
Posted by cableguy
I think it was wishful thinking that an R3 firmware would be available for the K850i the same time as they release the C902i,people would just buy a cheaper K850i as oppposed to a more expensive C902i.
If they release a faster more stable firmware now I suppose its better than nothing, and in another two months we might get the R3 firmware,as SE seem to release K850i firmware every two months.
Thats just my opinion.

Don't you hate it when you check for an update on SEUS, it gets the the verification stage then it tells you, "update your phone" then when the K850 has fully risen it says "latest update installed" Gets your hopes up then deflates them again...
Posted by reggiele
Firmware-wise, K850 is a major failure to SE... really disappointing

Just thinking it would be a nice feature in SEUS that it would remember the last phone you plugged in and its firmware revision.
So then it would tell you that a new firmware is available for your phone without you having to powerdown the phone, plug it in, plug it out and turn it back on, when there is no new firmware.
Posted by CruSifiXken
you got a good point there...
/me wants new firmware...
I've been spared of BROD thank god ^.^
I think it's due to the fact that I once sent it to SE, and they reflashed it for me
(FOTA update failed, phone wouldn't boot....)

I think this C905 8mp is a fake!
It's a photoshop mixture of the W910 + K800

You mean all these youtube videos are fake?

I don't think so, however I do see how they have blended features from the two models you mentioned and I like it!

I could have sworn the new firmware was officially out last night because I checked the thread before going to sleep and there were 495 pages, then I logged in again today and saw 502... I was like: wow! It's definitely out now and people are discussing it.
Just wanna say that I appreciate Adil786uk who took the risk of trying this firmware and I want to ask sblantipodi how come he knows so much about what we are supposed to find in the new firmware.

And xs++ 3.2 is released and all my K850i probs r solved for free ,I am able to add new drivers etc.
lol.....

Hahahaha
Imagine XS++ 3.2 is released in October just 1 week before the 8mp comes out, what you will do?
keep your K850 and benefits from the new possibilities given by the XS++ or take a 8mp but you have to wait 1 year before having a XS++ compatible with it?
Posted by maaz2020
I'll wait for XS++ ,I've learnt my lesson now never go for something new unless its supported by the community(flashin etc), and far as I am concerned freeeeeeeeeeee! ,so c905 only after xs++ support...

no new firmware on seus at the moment

Anyone having problems w/ Micro SD's? I have 2 that worked fine on my phone before. I upgraded a while ago (to R1EA031 when it was released) and ever since, my MicroSD cards dont work. I also tried it on my friends k850i (Firmware R1EA037 ) but it also doesnt work on his. I tried it on my brothers N82 (I think thats it. Im horrible w/ N series names...) and it works fine.
Anyone else having this problem? I tried searching but all i found was on the first page which said "8Gb Micro SDHC cards are not recognized when the phone is MTP mode." I only have a 512 and 2gig so that sorta doesnt apply to me. I would update my phone but I dont have a windows computer that I trust (it crashes all the time)
So any advice or possible solutions?

It may be your brand. I am using R1EA037 with a SanDisk microSD 8Gb SDHC and it works perfectly.

No, it doesn't...
why?
I got 6GB MicroSD, and no problems at all, only when using a large amount of files (for example MGmaps => ± 300.000 files, the phone just can't handle it

Given the previous pattern of Firmware releases for the K850i; we're already 1mth late for a new one!
Whats going on with
? Have they officially abandoned the K850i?
Posted by maaz2020
Even after updating to the latest firmware I get photo fix error, operation error in games and application folders, cant check phone profile by pressing volume keys when the media player is in the background, got zooming prob in the images(when I press zoom its zooms completly out and the pic gets very small) and many more error.
I think the brod is coz of a corrupted firmware updating in the K850i(i think its the only phone affected in the platform) .I think the new firmware fails to delete the ol crap or buggy files left behind from the old firmware and it require a complete reflash and an insider from my local service center confirms dat ,he says the a complete reflash to the latest firmware solves all the probs with the K850's...(MY opinion which i think is most likely true in most cases).
Posted by shernon8
still no new firmware on SEUS?
Posted by masada1971
nothing yet??too bad..i am miserable....i intend to sell my k850 and NEVER return to se even if they make the cell phone with the most advanced specs!!!
Posted by naveensiva
if u ask me ... we should file a ONLINE PETITION against sony ericsson to release the firmware for k850 , i also want them to solve the current bugging problem in thier present phones and move on to whatever 8 mp or 50 mp phones they are about to release..
Posted by maaz2020
Plz again I am telling ,if u want to update plz do a reflash from a service center don use seus its the thing dats causing all the porbs.

well to that microSD problem, i am having problems also but its kinda hardware not software problem. when i insert the card, somethimes the phone didnt read it, i need to remove the card and try to put it in again, move with it somehow. after 2-3 attempts its workin fine. i think that the memory slot is just broken or something. try it. it will help

People, I'm as eager as you to get the new firmware if it indeed fixes the BROD and also adds the speed and stuff from 031, but don't you think it's reasonable to think that SE will not put it on SEUS in the weekend? My guess is (if they are done testing it) it will be on SEUS on monday. Just guessing, though.

Do you also have problems taking photos with the xenon flash?
If a subject is within a two-meter radius, it will get over-exposed (very white, no detail). This didn't happen in the first firmwares. Also, It worked perfect in my old K800i.
So I never use the flash, or all my night photos look like shit. I hate this phone, it's the worst flagship SE phone yet.

I think that you are not able to use your phone if you speak in this way
surely 2 seconds for night photos should be better but with the correct settings you can rich a good result.

50% of my portrait photos at night are also too bright

mine too..any solutions to this?even with iso set to 100,same again..too white pics

Guys by chance is the c902 officially launch as yet, because i believe this our keep back with the firmware or is either they make another mistake firmware and afraid to release i am positive this firmware is raedy but something they are afraid of ,they probably know that if they prove their self this time around i know they will live to regret it... this flagship phone will take all their flags down

Yes i have the same issue with mine aswell. Ive owned a K800 in the past & i still own a K810 but ive never had this problem with either of them before.
I'm starting to hate my K850 aswell, I might sell it & just stick to my K810.
