Hi guy's. I dont want to make a new thread about this, and I've searched but nothing found. Its about that effect (like fog, that comes over picture) the K850 put on a picture taken with his camera when you look at it first time, in file manager and in media player. What's for that effect? Is not really annoying, but I'm curious about this.

Btw, after last reflash, on 7th February, and re-updated on last f/w, only 3-4 reboots. No BROD again, no other annoying things.

Sorry for my bad english.

I`ve got K850 for 6 months under 3UK contract. After 1st month I realized I don`t want to use it with 3UK branded firmware. So I debranded it via Davinci client (10 credits). I`ve just tried SEUS (btw til now it always reads the firmware is up to date) and it offered me R1EA037 HutchWorld firmware!?!?!? WTF? I thougt I debranded the handset and can update it with SEUS anytime the new generic firmware arrive.
Can anyone explain me what the hell this suppose to mean?

You used the wrong firmware.

I`m not sure that you are sure.

What's the latest firmware for North America? I haven't really checked since 037.

Posted by JiSm
Our SE Rep seems to have heard Face Recognition will be incorporated into K850 soon as a way to make an "Update" to the camera. We'll see I guess huh! We were testing the C902 and K850 and the face recognition is really good for the picture quality. You lose a little Focus from the background but boy do you see a difference in the subject!

Yea, was havin a go on C902. Put the pics on his laptop and same pics from k850 (Auto with R1EA037) and the face recognition was wicked for subject clarity for sure. Not just on the phone but you could see it on the laptop too. Mind you, its daylight so unsure how face recognition will work in the dark? Will focus on subject with movie light on then probably lose focus when movie light goes off to discharge flash! Will have to see about that one!

Posted by Krzysiecw
Do you really think they will add this feature in k850? That is fature which makes c902 different phone ... Isn`t it ? Of course would be great ... but ... I can`t wait that R3 firmware ... to set some new flash menus ;D

You must have accidentally flashed hutchinsons onto it! Do the >*<<*<* service menu thing and have a look at the software on the phone. you will e able to tell for sure then.

@krzysiecw
Pretty much this is the difference - firmware wise (At a glance anyways). Cosmetically its way thinner and lighter and the camera is hidden inside the phone - you slide it open to use and there are 8 touch-sensitive option buttons for the camera. Pretty cool little phone but I think I would miss the Xenon flash.

yes i know but i don`t think they will add this firmware feature into k850 :/

Posted by JiSm
Yea, maybe he just said it for us to pass on to existing customers so they feel like SE really do care about them. haha

Im gonna hold onto the idea that they might... makes me look forward to something new and not SE just fixing K850 firmy problems.

Posted by Krzysiecw
Of course it would be great ... ! And i think most of current users of k850i would forget about all those problems with k850 ... And SE would be again our favorite brand ... This is my opinion ... Anyway ... I hope thay will release R3 soon and we will be able to find out about FR and all those changes thay said ...

If i have backed up my messages to my memory card and updat my firmware will I still have all my messages?

Na, they all vanish. The phone cant see them but when you connect to PC Suite you can access them from there. Dont know why its like that. Maybe another bug on the list then?

What's new with the R3 firmware? Is it coming now or what?

Indeed. I would like to know the same thing?

I don't know what people are talking about when they just answer inhere, without even quoteing or anything else. When this happens, it's very difficult to get a interplay overview between the questions and the answers between each posts. Please take care about this guys. It will make it much easier for us other new guys inhere.

Well not for sure, they told me the same thing when I mailed them right before R1EA037 came out (I had all bugs you could imagine so I really wanted to know). Maybe they aren't allowed to tell anything about it or something..

Oh well i'm back to my K750 right now since my K850 just died.

Posted by Duran
Yep the dutch SE customer service also said there were no issues known with the k850..when i mailed them about BROD.
They said my mail would be forwarded to "their software department"

I pointed them at this thread and at the BROD solutions thread.

I decided not to use my 850 after several reboots - really would not like it to brod on me!! Fingers crossed for the new R3xxx or the like and hope the Mxxx SE expert gets it right this time:)

Posted by Killfr3nzy
Well, i am going to send it to repair today, I cant stand SE right now. Never had any problems with my K750, not even 1!

Oh well, im hoping to get this R3 firmware, whatever it may be soon .

I saw our se rep again and he had a list of known faults being addressed (as well as Previous fixes in FW) and they have nothing there about BROD. He made a call to one of his contacts in management and advised that this needs to be looked into. He asked where I got the info about BROD and I informed him of Esato.com. Hopefully he has a look and can forward all our gripes on too! Mind you, the list is so long I fear it will be filed in the "too hard" pile.

SAD, but maybe BROD will be fixed in next FW

Has anybody noticed that k850 bluetooth is very weak compared to it's predecessors?

Posted by cableguy
Yeah I noticed it, and its muck !!

Anytime I use the streaming music on my K850i towards my Parrot carkit or on my SE HBH-DS980
I cant Fast Forward onto next track without hitting the FF button about 4 or 5 times. (I can use the button on the phone itself or through the menu's, but the defeats the whole purpose of bluetooth)

And when your streaming music, the phone is as slow as a granny going up a stairs.

FFS the K800i had no bluetooth problems like this, I think K850i owners have been guinea pigs for the new platform, the sooner they upgrade the A200 platform the better.

I highly doubt new firmware will make bluetooth and the phone better, but I would love to be proved wrong

Nope! Quite the contrary in my experience! I leave my watch in the bathroom (3rd floor) and I still pick it up on ground floor! This is with powersave off but shouldnt really affect it? What are you using your bluetooth for?

Am using it with HBH-DS220 bluetooth A2DP handsfree. but the signal is very very weak. I don't get signal if i move 2 meters away from my fone without obstruction.

Funny ! I have both HBH-DS220 and HBH-DS200 and they work well all ower my flat. Over 8 m and walls. So it must be enything wrong with your BT

which firmmy version are u using?

As far as I am aware the powersave option just means you can only connect one device at a time?

Posted by Tervel
I have no problems with distance and the BT on my K850 - as a matter of fact it can get a little annoying when I turn off my HBH-DS980 and my computer in the living room (2 wall separation) connects to my phone (very loud sound from SE Suite). I do use Powersave so that's why PC connects only after headset is disconnected. I'm on R1CA037 and not moving forward until they release a firmware that doesn't BROD phones

Does anybody have the following problems too (with the R1EA037 firmwire)?

- Display of the HPM-90 headset doesn't work at all. The knobs stop working at times too.
- Can not activate voice control, not with the headset, not by holding a volumeknob.
- I only see about 5% of the album covers which I exported from iTunes.

I'm not having any of these problems, but with the album cover, do it with Windows Media Player, maybe Itunes allows more then whats allowed (other file extension, I think only jpg's and png's of a certain size are allowed). Anyways, try to add the covers with WMP, close it and check if the cover appears on your PC , then it should work on your phone too.

Posted by Healy6991
If adding album art in WMP doesn't work use a program called 'the godfather'
the album art always shows up on my K850i when I use it
