You should have a R1EA037 update avaliable :/ Mine is exactly the sam ecustomized and SEUS made an update ...

After 1month I got back my K850i from the dealer 2 days ago. It showed BROD a few weeks after updating to R1EA031 from -CA037 via SEUS.
It had China-SO but now R1EA031 Generic Asia-Levan is installed.
The phone is working fine as it did earlier. No prob except that theme-background in Media.
But after reading through this forum, i've found that the HSDPA option is missing under Mobile Networks menu and now the first option in Media is "Photo" but it was "Music" previously.
isn'nt it strange?
What should i do in order to get back HSDPA option and "Music" as the first option in Media?
One more thing to ask as i see there's another update R1EA037 available now. Should i update it via SEUS or not? I'm afraid of that bloody BROD.
plz share ur experience.

Do you really need the HSDPA option and music as the first option in the media aplication?
I mean, if is working fine, why worry?
Leave it like it is, cause I'm afraid that if you flash it, then you may have the BROD

i love my K850i now. it hasnt rebooted once after i put the new firmware. looks pretty steady to me... one problem i find is that when i listen to the media player through the headphones the volume is not loud enough. anyone else noticed this? when i play the radio the sound is loud and clear. i have this issue only when i play music through the media player.

thanx mate. Actually i was used to of seeing "Music" as the first option. and in fact i really dont need that HSDPA. just wondered why it was not there. Anyway i'm satisfied now. Thanx again
i was not asking abt flashing but updating through SEUS. Should I update to R1EA037? Is it better than R1EA031?

Yes same here.. It's not loud enough when playing through Media in the handsfree.

hello.I have BROD.Can I repair my phone in KULANKENDI??What I need to do after buy a credit?Flash firmware or someting else??

Posted by Belmondo
and where Can I find r1ea037 to download?

Posted by vegetaleb
@ Buntoo
If you had a BROD with 031 the chances to get another BROD with the new 037 are great!!
Keep your actual 037 and choose stability over functions,SE will make sooner or later a new FW that will give both

I have a similar problem, I'm not sure if it got to do with the firmware or whatever, but i was texting then my K850 just switched off.

I tried turning it back on but all it showed was a black screen and the keypad lighting up. and it was doing it three or for times till it stopped.

I take out the battery and insert it back in and turn it on and it does the same thing. i dont have my sim card or my memory card in and it still did the same thing. i have it on charge and i noticed that when i plugged it in a red/orange light was emitted on the power button, then it just repeats it self with a black screen and the keypad lighting up.

I'm using my w880 until the k850 is stable enough to be worth de-BROD-ing... but I was just having a play about with the K850 and noticed that it smells a bit of burnt components
Not a strong smell.. only if I open the battery cover and smell it.

Can someone who has one that hasn't BRODed and is familiar with the smell of a blown resistor have a whiff and see if that's normal?

I think is one of the BROD issues. You need Davinci o kulankendi to fix it, or if your K850 still covered by the warranty, then take it to the shop.

It has R1EA031 installed in it after i got back from the dealer. I think they put a clean firmware in it. So not a single reboot since 4 days. but it had some restarts 1 month ago when i updated through SEUS.

So i should keep it now and wait for the stable firmware.
thanx for advice

well then make your own program

the only reason why these companies have all these firmwares (usually) before release them onto SEUS is because they pay to acquire them.

They need to make money you know. They are businesses, they arent going to hand their products out for free, that wouldnt be a good move now would it

Posted by dark.thought
>500

relax, i know they need to make money and all that crap so im not making a big deal out of it. Ill probably have to pay for it anyway if its the last thing i have to do.

Posted by >500
im relaxed mate

was obviously stating the 'obvious'..... just a little bored waiting to go out.

until programs like xs+ (free) support a200, we'll have to keep paying.....

The K850 has the loudest speaker ever on the K series and especially with the FW 031

Posted by sielski666
hey guy's,

im going to change my firmware tonight with davin ci but i was wondering which one to choose? is it the
CID52: 1202-7819 R1CA037 K850 1201-9832 CUSTOMIZED RU/ BLUE

if any one could shed some light that would be perfect, coz i think da vinci teams website is much confusing than wotan is but wotan doesnt give the firmware do they.

all i want is to know which firmware will get the crappy orange menu icons off. thanks again

the external speaker may be loud but if you play music through the media player and listen through a headset the volume is really low.. not loud enough

Posted by >500
the volume through earphones is more than sufficient!

do you want the volume so high that it hurts your ears after a while or to the point where your music starts to distort

i cant hear any outside noises when im listening to mine. volume is plenty!

compared to other phones in the market the headphone volume is a bit low. i wish it was just a bit more louder.

Posted by >500
i find it to be similar in volume to a a few other phones ive tried out. Well, each to their own i guess......

Scary thing happened today, turned the camera on then off, then off again in quickish succession, then I got it, keypad lights on, blue ring lit, I thought it was the end. It turned itself off, I took out the battery and replaced it and turned the phone on as usually, thankfully I have a fully functional phone now, close one.

Posted by melk
Yeah, that usually happens when you try to push a lot of keys fast and the phone isn't that fast to process everything. It doesn't happen only with the camera.

The guys developing the sofware for K850i are total idiots. It's been such a long time from the launch and we still have BROD, shitty close-up xenon flash pictures, resets everywhere, the phone is slow when listening to music via the bluetooth stereo headset etc.

Posted by reggiele
cannot agree more ... why this shitty crappy firmware.... in particular, the camera is the shittiest in terms of red colour reproduction!!!

yes, with the original headsets the volume is very low..
but if you try any of these new walkman headsets (with those rubbers plugged in the ear) the quality and volume increases alot!

I would Highly discourage you from taking the battery out when the phone LOOKS to be off after a crash. This is how I got my K790 trashed the 1st time due to impatience. The phone Should boot up on its own without taking the battery out - it does it even faster than a full boot cycle, but might take about 5-10 seconds for it to start booting up and then it pretty much goes back to the home screen without going through the SE Logo and flight mode selection (if enabled). If the phone is non-responsive (looks to be off) after about 30-45 seconds then I suppose there is no choice but to take the battery out.

No you don't!
I'm not into nanny state/companies... but constant tinnitus really pisses me off.
Get the in-ear, plug style 'phones that come with the W range - they block out more outside sounds so it's a lot clearer for lower volumes and sounds louder.

Hello,

I'm using a K850 with R1EA031 and I've not been able to update to 037 via SEUS. I'm on O2, and SEUS tells me that I already have the latest firmware. Has anyone else had this same issue?
