not sure try deleting the db folder within SEUS files in your program files (if thats were its installed).

Usually solves alot of problems i have had with it before

Kulankendi does a full flash and changes the CDA, that is how I changed the CDA on my k850. If you have problems with kulankendi contact the author on the gsmhosting forum, he might take a day to answer but he is usually a very nice guy and solves these problems.

It's been a day and he hasn't replied there, after no reply there for a few hours I posted here to see if anyone knew of anything I was doing wrong maybe! So my €8 has been wasted, and there's no way I'll be recommending KK to anyone (or SE for that matter) unless they sort the damn thing out for me...

Can't believe it! 3 days after updating to R1EA037 - BROD! I had R1EA031 before the update. No restarts or sudden shutdowns. No errors at all. None after flashing R1EA037 either. Now I shut the phone down, try to turn it on again but except for keyboard and camera ring's light nothing happens. It really came out of nowhere!

Posted by jcgibbins
they will did u send a personal message to the guy who's forum name is Kulankendi ?? Because tell him what has happened and say you didn't click the finalization box and he will msg you back took a day for me to get a msg, also include your Kulankendi user name in the msg then he will be able to re credit your count without asking for your user name and taking more time

This is exactly how mine went - no clues, just pop.

my phone came with the 037 version. I aint had any problems with it at all. apart from some very occasional re-boots, which does not happen every day. I am happy with this. I don't think I will update when the update will be available for me on O2 unless I am having major problems. But so far so good.

Lots of conflicting reports about all the FW...

Just makes you wonder what is the real cause of it....

most of the problems came from branded phones.
And most BRODs came from R1EA031 firmware.

So far that is my observation, I don't know if its accurate.

LCARS,
so now you can't switch on your phone, mate?

Posted by dentoters07
day 5 and no random boots yet.. still "going strong"

Posted by NatroXz
Same here, 5th day and no problems.(phone is better than itīs ever been)
I used to have reboots, but it looks like that is history.

I think the problem lays with the phones that have been Debranded.

Maybe make a poll and see whos phones is the problem makers.

That's what the BROD is. You turn the phone on and nothing happens, other than the keypad and blue circle lights up. The phone is dead and needs to be sent back to the supplier or SE, or you can void the warranty and start re-flashing with a paid third party service.

I returned my phone, but unfortunately it takes weeks for a new one, not days.

Posted by vegetaleb
If you flash your K850 with third party softwares without changing the CDA,how the hell SE will know you did it in case of warrenty??

Posted by Krzysiecw
I heard that EMMA can check if FW was flashed with different way than SEUS or EMMA in Logs ...

Let's say I want to reflash it myself. Which 3rd party service would you suggest?

updated to R1EA037

ya hte media player is fast...but not very fast as in k800 or k750... but a BIG improvement though.. loads the list very fast....
may be one more firmy update will fix the media player.. WELL DONE SE !!!!

the video files still lags big time... Big let down !!!

No other significant find ...

still flash is not optimized...

there is a slight volume increase and the mega bass is better.... ( subjective find only) - do u guys also feel the same ???

games are slightly faster ... with comparison of marble madness

final verdict... may be not a big update ..a minor one ...but does improve on overall performance..

go ahead and do a update...

I don't watch video through Media Center anymore, it causes hell of the lag. Rather than that, view it through file manager. There is very little or no lag at all.

I'm a flight Attendant, and i can tell you that when i visit different countries or states... if HSDPA is supported in that network, it will come on the main screen as (H) otherwise... if it's 3G then that is what you'll get. I do agree that the option to enable it in the Mobile networks option is not avail on this firmware version...

@jasieq,

R1EA037 never caused many problems to whoever that has updated to it except for a few unlucky person.
My K850, for example, never had any reboots since I updated to R1EA037 when the firmware has just been released.

Posted by vegetaleb
SE to K850 customers: what's BROD? we never heard of it,we are not responsible for it,it's a spring virus that's all cheer up.

Ok for third party flashers Kulankendi is exellent and easy to use, also I personally used it with my BROD 1 month ago and revert the FW to old 037 and it's still rockin, whoever SE center has ''played'' with the lcd screen when they tried to repair it and now I have a wave effect in the middle of the screen everytime I push a button on my keyboard,I took it back to them saying that they are responsible for it,and guess what? they were pretending they are simply not sawing any problem with the water drop effect and after trying to see if there was any mistake they said ''oh mr its missing the bolts you have opened it?'' and here I said '' no it was YOU and your shitty support center'',of course I don't know if they placed back new bolts but I know that the lcd problem is still here....technical center name: CEPP

a few person , i mean.
i had 1, in all the 7 months, and im sure the majority also

BROD is really isolated problem just like java boot problem or red light ( infra red ) problem in k800.... even i got one when i had k800... but kulakendi solved the problem within minutes.... soo i even heard that brod is also a 5 minutes solving problem...

all i want to say is... now with all getting good for k850 ... and expected release of R3 due in few months.. all is looking good for k850 users...

Come on SE, sort it out FFS!!!!

Still no sign of the newer 037 for voda users.. dragging their heels a bit!

Posted by bavlondon2

Posted by SE-Naz
Looks like BROD... seems to be the biggest problem with it... STILL...

I would just bin it if it kept happening to me... Glad I got rid of mine soon as I got it...

Cheers

Blame Vodafone, as I believe they always take their time to "approve" any new firmware!!

I guess we may still be waiting this time next week ;(

Posted by sniper_supra
Who's got BROD and who doesn't anyway?

There's just too many names to identify.

Count me in under No BROD at R1EA037

new firmware would be on second quarter - that's a hell of a deadline.

Posted by deepy
i find the most annoying problem to be the crazily powerful flash...any close up picture turns out over exposed...it makes black people look white!!!

^^^ Thats awesome! haha

Right, after my whole disaster in ordering a new sim card for my k850 thinking it was making it restart, and found out it wasn't, i have now been able to keep it on long enough to perform a master reset, and it seems to be bahving atm, i have however lost all my messages, and my e-mail inbox is empty, for now.

This may have been causing an issue though, as i had over 2000'ish text messages, and 1500 e-mails, all stored on the phones memory.

anyways, all seems ok for now.

only thing is, now i've lost all orginal content, i've searched the forums and found the original sound files, but does anyone have a link to the pictures, and demo video, and is it a simple mattter of linking the demo video to the link in the menu, or is that now dead forever?

having no luck here at all

Having a lot of trouble getting SEUS to recognise the phone - it keeps going into Mass Storage Mode when I connect the cable even though I'm firmly pressing the C key down. Have tried multiple times and on 2 PCs but no luck. Tried KulanKendi client and it seems to be able to recognise things OK, reading all the info off the phone.

When I did get it to work one time it told me no update was available (I've got a T-Mobile UK-branded K850i) despite me being on FW R1DA038 - well out of date.

Davinci or something would probably let me flash it but resent having to pay for something that SEUS should be providing

Posted by jcgibbins
To Voda users its not the SE's fault for it being so late, its the fact that vodafone have to change it all to have all its "Live" crap all over it, i personally hate it but they have to make the changes so that it doesn't look like a debranded phone.

Posted by mr versatile
This is question to all did any one who upgraded to the 037 fix had any cause to master reset and if you did what new did happen if any at all i did not do any master reset to mine because so far so good (knocking on wood):-)

Posted by dentoters07
flash burnout is back in new 037, im afraid.. even if the camdriver is not updated.. and that's weird..

Posted by larry 68
Is it really worth updating ?

Im still stuck on 031 due to the same problem as alanjrobertson, phone only going to mass storage even though i've had no such problems with other updates.

I still get the phone crashing everyday and the odd re boot but if the only difference is the media being faster then there seems no point in updating as I dont find it slow and it sounds like the BROD problem is still there and thats my main fear, I hold my breath every time the phone crashes!!

I love my k850i but it seems to have a mind of its own, changing my settings and ringtone when it feels like it,which is annoying, Im tempted to do the master reset but have done one before and it was a pain trying to get my txt and mms settings back , it took 3 days so am reluctant to do that again.
