I don't think it is available yet. You should probably wait for a few more days/weeks.

what the website of Asia Levan?

Posted by HotXRock
I have a strong feeling that startup time has significantly reduced, now my phone turns on really fast after flashing from R1EA031 to R1EA037. Is it only me or not? mwarner did not mention it in the topic first post, I didn't notice somebody talking about this either.

Has anyone any comments yet about battery life on 037...improved or otherwise?

I just checke this morning and i can say it is not available for now because SE has taken the old firmware for ASIA-LEVAN off SEUS. So far as I know, this means they are loading the new firmware. I will check after some few hours and will post my findings so keep checking this trend.

OH, THIS IS BAD NEWS!! sheesh...

Hahahaha I thought I had to wait 1 month before seing BROD with this new FW !!!
I will keep my old and very stable 037 till SE notice(or accept the responsability) that thousands of K850 are getting BROD since 031!
I hope this monstruous bug will not be a ''sorry but we can't do anything bug because we don't care'' like the ''operation failed'' bug that SE didn't repair since the K750

Posted by mr versatile
THis is bizza some people phones are working perfectly and others getting some strange occurance besides the BROD, certain buttons not working which never happen before I personally feel every phone have there own individual bug issues that is corrupting firmware in its own way so Probably every k850 need a total reflash before updating to any new firmware because firmware going and meeting up ohers problems that just help to corrupt the presently new firmware apparantly updating it doesn't means it over writes all info in just find what needs to replace and leave the rest of bugs hidding alone, just my theory

good point - but SE is supposed to have noticed this...

what version of Camera driver on R1EA037 - 3.7 ?? if it true, why SE don't updated camera driver? At R1EA031 - cam driver 3.7, i think that at next software SE will updating camera driver!

because they are lazy..apparently

I've been thinking...

Maybe there could be some visible difference between a working phone and a BROD prone one.

Maybe this isn't about firmware fault, coz R1EA031 breezed through my phone without BROD and now I am on R1EA037.

Can we be sure that all k850 are made in china? or are they all created under one factory or sumthin?

what about 37 FM for c-asia, it's available now on SEUS ?

BROD can hit a k850 even after several weeks so you just have been lucky!
I had it 3 weeks after and some dudes here got it 2 months after and all of them upgraded to 031,there are 0 case of BROD with the old 037,so what it means?

Are we safe?

@sniper_supra
very very good point because for some strange reason certain colours behave differently as well as certain regions very good point, I dont think we will get to many BROD in this fix and it will probably hold out untill the next big release in the next month or two

Update is definatly available for me, checked today. Don't see the point though, camera is brill, phone is quick, stable, and all this seems to do is improve media player speed and mine is nearly instant. I'll wait for the new A200 firmware with the updates seen in the c902

there is a pretty big improvement on overall speed though... (Check Jbench results)

My K850i has been BROD free untill now, but this may be due to the fact that is has been "repaired" (=> flashed in repair) by SE...
Maybe there are no software "flaws" when SE flashes your phone?

I had 031 through kulakendi and i updated to the the new firmware via seus.
I noticed few things i didn't like, slight distortion in earphone speaker and bluetooth quality. Sound was somehow more "dirty"
So i reverted back to 031 paying 8 more euros to kulakendi.
Is my impression that things are better if we make clean flash and problems arise if we update through seus.
Si i ll wait for the new firmware and maybe install it from kulakendi to be on
the safe side!

Sure there's been some major speed improvements...but that's only because on 029 it was ULTRA slow and now it's just slow...

Posted by harry20larry
I really don't know if my phone is special, cause speeds are instant and i have 2gb in my phone, and when i search for some music in my library it takes less than a fith of a second to bring back results.
Personally I think sony have brought out two versions of the k850, cause i got mine in feburary and their hasn't been a single problem what so ever.

Ok heres the crack with the 3UK firmware updates. Spent most of the past few days on the phone to 3 with firmware problems. I have been stuck on 029 for months now and unable to update via SEUS or FOTA. Guy i spoke with last night said the latest firmware for 3 uk was the RIEA037 and I should have been able to upgrade, however it didnt. So rang again today and they asked for my IMEI number and sent the firmware to me via FOTA, it took a while to upgrade but its now on the latest and running very well too. So basically if your stuck with 029 on 3UK ring the support line and say you are stuck on 029 firmware, they will ask you yr IMEI and then send you the firmware via a text message. If you dont recive the text from them just goto settings, general and update service. Then click search for updates, it will then allow you to download the latest update which you select yes to and let it do its stuff. The main file is about 5megs it downloads and then upgrades the firmware from that, takes about 20 mins to do but worth it. tec support told me that from now on I will be able to use SEUS, it seemed as if 3 had locked the updates.

Hope this is of help to Huggons and the rest of 3 uk people.

This is a know issue on R1EA031 but has been fixed in the R1EA037, please update the first post.

I'm slightly worried by the fact that since i've updated to 037, i've had 5 restarts from 4PM alone. Better backup everything!

I really thought that this was going to be the stable firmware for the K850, i guess not!

I don't think that this is a firmware problem since I have the same firmware and my phone haven't got this problem...
I think that is a SIM compatibility problem... Try change your SIM with another one and see if the restart problem remain.

Updated mine and havent had any issues ...of course didnt have many complaints with the others on my phones either...but we shall see.

This firmware has been excellent for me. Much improved better life, faster system and best of all, no reboots.

Hmm interesting Sandy. The only issue i had was after updating to R1EA037, the phone wouldn't start the first time, i then tried the 2nd time and all is good. Believe it or not... the phone doesn't reboot itself either like it did with the previous version. Battery life problem seems to be fixed as well. Not major improvements... but yeah they are noticeable that's for sure. I'm also using the 8gig m2 card and have over 500 songs... menu def seems faster. Even scrolling through images as well. But again... what i'm most happy about are no reboots at all. Touch wood!

i email sony ericsson to know about when the latest firmware will be release for k850 and this is their answer....

"Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson on the World Wide Web.

Answer:
Thank you for coming to us to highlight the issue.

With regard to your enquiry, we would like to inform that there will be the coming new software version where released by end of Q2.

Please contact Sony Ericsson Call Center again should you need any further assistance.

Thank you."

maybe R1EA037 is the firmware right?
or maybe they will release much more stable firmware soon?
