just updated to R1EA037.
Just as i thought - small improvement on media browser speed.
At least no more jumbling theme colors.

So the FW improved on two benchmarks and worsened on two others? Am I understanding this correctly?
I seem to have made a mistake...
I re-did the JBenchmarks and these are the scores I got
- JBenchmark 3D HQ: 438 (Prev Firmware: 445)

We are still at risk. I think the only thing SE was to increase the menu speed when using medai player and thats all ignoring BROD.
hummmmmmmmm! God have mercy on those of us who cannot use third part update cos we have no credit cards.

I just noticed the menu animation is now smooth!!!:O (on EA037)
Of course the animation isn't too fast but atleast it doesn't stutter like it did before

havent noticed any major differences yet, apart from improved speed and transitions, no HDSPA option in networks but that could just be my phone, still awaiting the big old holy grail of R3

What is your CDA? I'm also on Western Europe unbranded, with CDA 1202-5694, and was able to update today. If you have a different CDA, you might want to change it with kulankendi...

The next major firmware update will be the R3AA one. This will - among other things - include the new menu set-up where you can alter the look of the menu icons.
Posted by Krzysiecw
Mizzle major major ...
Posted by The Barron
@Mizzle
been a while since i've seen you here, just wondering if you have an ETA for us on R3 as we're all still drooling after it
Posted by JiSm
Did 031 have the auto transition between pictures in Playback (via camera switch)? I had never noticed it but it automatically transitions to next photo after like 5 seconds...
Posted by Mizzle
C702, C902, W760 and W980 all use the R3 firmware, and three of those are coming in shops within the next month or two. I guess you can expect the firmware update for K850/W890/W910 to be out a bit before that.
Posted by The Barron
Thanks Mizzle i hope you're right

Hey Guys,
Did the new FW fix the Red-Pink problem? And has the Video Playback been fixed? The Synchronization issue...
Posted by mr versatile
@Sony α
Pink red problem still same I dont think the new FW adjusted any thing on camera but much improve speed in alot of areas as for the video little problem when auto rotating it it speed up and then re adjust it self to the actual speed all in all things going good so far

They must have been busy with it for a VERY long time then, because i remember you posting the EMMA screenshots somewhere in januari, and it said R3AA already

No buddy, SEUS says "Latest software already installed" R1EA031.
maybe we can have it by the close of the week. Just keep checking. I don't trust SE on this though.
If you can remember, it took almost 4 weeks before we got R1CA037 after it was released so dont be too optimistic that we gonna have it this week.

I can confirm that uk generic western europe can update to r1ea037, o2 are still on r1ea031 and tmobile uk are still on r1da038. Hope this helps.

But is it true that for k850i will be R3 aswell ? or just hoping ... those models (C702, C902 ... are new one so they can have different FW). So please just confirm that SE is planning release R3 for K850

Well, just had a reboot with R1EA037. Previously I only had another reboot with R1EA031. Both when the phone was just sitting on my desk, doing nothing. Suddenly it vibrates, the keyboard lights up, and reboots. Could this mean that BROD is still possible/probable with R1EA037?
Posted by vegetaleb
YES!
That's why the BROD victims who upgraded to 031 will not do the same mistake and wait at least 1 month to see if the new 037 is BROD free...

Am afraid yes, since the CID is still 52 not 53. We are still at risk.
