LEARN YOUR CAMERA....

some tips:

¤ outdoor pics with full daylight (strong sunshine) = ISO Auto....Daylight profile.....(or sometimes ISO.100)

¤ outdoor pics low light....ISO.200/400.....still daylight profile (or sometimes cloudy profile)

¤ indoor pics with low light....ISO.100 + flash or ISO.400 no flash...
or portrait night and ISO.auto

¤ outdoor pics night...aim at the strongest light source you find..use portrait night profile....or ISO.400...or sometimes plain auto works best...it depends on the light source.
(this pics is the hardest for a tiny cell phone camera sensor to shoot)

¤ Macro outdoor....plain Macro

¤ Macro indoor...Macro + ISO.100 + flash (+ zoom X 2-4)

ps...the light on a object is rule number 1
pss....adjust the whitness balance with your D-Pad..(strong sunshine -0.3 or -0.7........low light +0.3 or +0.7 )..thats rule number 2

i can give you couple of more tips...but try this ones first...

Thank You - I'll try some of those settings.

But my biggest concern is that the pictures is "shaky" and I've already put on the stabilisator. And I'm very steady with the camera!

HHUUUUUHHH.... looks like shit..(no offend)

¤ i think you have something wrong with your camera, (im quite sure)...even if you shake like a 99 year old man , the pics shouldnt looks like this.

warranty - go to your local work shop - services....and they fix it for you

the quality should be like this on a k850..(big different)

Maybe its the software - I have seen this before. Tried the phone 2 months ago (working at a leading phone company in Denmark - And are ordering the phones for our online shop)
SonyEricsson told us, that the shaky pictures was caused by the beta software. But now with a brand new phone the pictures are still as shity...

What software are u using?

Taken with auto settings inside

Posted by plankgatan
@zootzoot.......try this instead on your toy-cars (i suppose it indoor)
.........flash + ISO.100 (and maybe little zoom)...then you get much better quality.

K850 is one phone that requires some skill in order to produce quality shots. I believe that K800/810 produces better defaults shots.

cant agree on that....when i used k800, k810 i feelt the camera was realy sensitive to......i think k850 is nearly the same, maybe less sensitive.....to get good indoor pics with k800, k810 you also need to adjust some features.

k750 is best on "aim & shoot" or "snapshoots"...(the camera is not sensitive)

I really like the first one of your recent posted photos! I like shots taken in "frog-perspecitve" := Have you been crawling around in the ditches in hunt for the perfect shot?

This one is taken with macro and auto settings. I think i used photo fix afterwords. But in this case that didn't make much improvement(and it doesn't need improvement) This shot actualley looks better when it's not cut down in size to fit posting here.

DAAAMN! I dropped my phone from my bed on the floor. And a lot of dust particles has now appeared inside the camera and ON the lens! I noticed a few dust particles yesterday but it wasn't to bad. But there must have been a lot of dust in the kamera housing when it left the factory...hmmm i will try to get the se care centre to clean it...if they know how...Grrrrrr

I doubt that the dust was already inside the phone. Most likely it enters through a gap somewhere.

The i-mobile 902 has the same problem but with dust entering through the speaker grill and collecting over the display. No dust on the camera though. This is after all a camera phone costing 250 US dollars so you should expect at least the camera to be of good quality.

Posted by fullforce
Well the dust, as you say, shouldn't be there either way. I spoke to call center and care center and they said that they will fix it, no problems, It's clearly a warranty issue. Good that we agreed on that!
So tomorrow i will go to a nighbour town and get it fixed, since they don't have a care center in my town. All and all it will cost me 40 euros to get it fixed since i will pay an extra fee to get i fixed emediately and also pay for the train tickets... But that's me- i want everything to work perfect NOW

That pic of the japanese girl is taken with proto firmware, and can't be compared to retail firmware.

if it was made properly in the first place it wouldnt need anything like this.

nothing is perfect in this world and after all it's human's that designed the phone.

Is there any way to remove the glass cover over the lens cover? ... I think that without this glass over the lens it would be better.

And how are you gonna keep the lens clean then? It's not easy to clean that deep into the camera housing.
But i think the only thing wrong with this phone is the lack o a proper lens cover...a pity. But otherwise a WONDERFUL phone! Love the walkman 3.0 player and a lot of more things!

most photos looks better than I expected after seeing some samples. plank, you got talent.

can someone please post a full 5mp photo on a host like imageshack.us or something so we can see quality when they arent resized. and hopefully someone can post a sample video shot with the k850i please?

Thanks!

Posted by SpartanX
All the pictures are taken in automatic settings. This here is a park near my house.

Taken with all different kind of settings - This phone really stinks.

Posted by mps60
More likely that your an absolutely shit photographer with spasm hands.

Posted by >500
no need to be so harsh mps60.....

any way, imo, photos from the 2 posters above seem to have been taken with out steady hands, hence the bluryness (spelling? lol) keeping steady hands while taking photos is one problem i have

Posted by plankgatan
@Brinaldo..............you realy need to fix your k850...it shouldnt be like this.
(just look at the other pictures....most of them looks awesome)

@SpartanX.............think you can improve the quality of this pictures even more..(but they looks nice anyway)

@Brinaldo.

Gosh, even my poorest shot dont look any like those.

Posted by aldrinus
@brinaldo:

take it easy, mate! go easy on your self and your phone...

"practice makes perfect."

i was thinking those bottle, etc shots were taken with your phone also on the same surface? that you set up the timer function? i'm asking these questions since they were great shots! and i'm assuming that it was because the phone was held steadily... were you holding the phone or was it resting on the same surface as the subjects?

you see, mate, i often used my phone timer function if the case warrants it. aside from avoiding the usual hand "shake", you get a "shake-less" shot!

stick around. continue posting your shots... i'm sure a lot of people here are willing to lend their help in our collective improvement as camera phone photographers

cheers to everyone!

Posted by Laxe
Here are two I've taken with mine:

Not the best, though this was in landscape and I'm thinking it's better left to auto or portrait...
