I just watched it, thnx Plankgatan, this gives a good idea of how the videoquality of the K850i is.

Posted by plankgatan
also remember that is a BIG different when you record outdoor in normal sunshine.(it gets so much better). but i think the quality is ok for be a indoor video.

Whats those pink lines round the edges of that building?

Posted by fullforce
I ask again: Look at my pics a couple of posts down. I think the first one (and others to) look a little "fuzzy" on the flowers edges. If you enhance a bit you clearly see it.
Please- any suggenstions why it sometimes looks like that?( The lens was clean and my hand fairly steady)
Suggestions would be appriciated! Thanks

Posted by ryanchg
For some reason Plankgatan's pictures turn out more colorful compared to the rest that posted, did you touch them up in PS?

[ This Message was edited by: ryanchg on 2007-10-21 21:37 ]

Posted by Sobo
yeah i think I see pink lines too...

Posted by plankgatan
i have a new 17" very good True life screen..(with perfect synchronized colors) AND i dosent see any pink lines around that building !!!! (but sometimes when you shrink with Paint in Windows, some edges get little strange colors..but thats only because i shrink it with Paint...the colors looks fine in the reality)

The flash of the K850i is really impressive.. it almost made it look like the room was lit up there in your photo.

I envy those of you leaving in a place where you actually have seasons. Autumn is a very good time for outdoor photos.

Here in Oman we have Summer 365 days per year, with more heat or less heat as the only variation. Sometimes it rains also, but that doesn't offer a lot of photo opportunities.

Can u force the flash like in the n95?

Posted by masseur
no, it seems there is only autl, red eye or off... no ON setting which you would think should be there

Sorry, i took it from my window so the positioning wasnt great anyway. Furthermore it is in auto mode and the high humidity in my country might affect outdoor shots if the camera modes arent tweaked.

nice eye!

Tried meddling the settings with the outdoor pics

AUTO MODE + EV -0.3

AUTO MODE + EV +0.3

auto mode + flash in COMPLETE darkness

The following were taken early in the morning after sunset (very little light and wanted to play with the EV anyway)

Auto mode, EV -0.3, NO flash

Auto mode, EV +0.3, NO flash

The remaining were taken in the afternoon

Auto mode, Auto ISO, NO flash[b]

[b] Auto mode, 100 ISO, NO flash

Here are a few indoor and outdoor shots that i've toke today randomly.

Posted by fullforce
I'm really looking forward to when you can buy leather cases that opens on the back (for the camera) and has a soft plastic front. Like the ones krussell makes for K800. I'm already tired of cleaning the "lens window".

I tried yesterday and you can without problems use the touch buttons even when they are covered with plastic protection.
edit: ooupss already found some cases! I wonder if the crystal cases have some protection over the "lens window"

Don't you agree that it is a little bit hard to get those razor sharp pics when taking macro shots. I for one have to take several shots before i get it perfect. It was a lot easier with my SEW800 and my nokiaN73 actually.
Is it just me or is it a firmware issue? Because i don't think it is a hardware issue since i CAN get sharp pics in macro every now and then.

[ This Message was edited by: fullforce on 2007-10-22 20:20 ]

Posted by ryanchg
don't worry, i face the same problem too and i think it's to do with the firmware, and pictures taken are not stable (you'll see blurry effects even if you hold still while taking them).

Posted by fullforce
@ryanchg:
Yes i hope it's just the firmware that need some tweaking and fixing!
This pic look blurry/fuzzy on the edges on the flowers if you look closely(maybe one have to enlarge the pic to a more normal size to see. Perhaps that's a firmware issue.

This is a part of my summer house:)

Now thats something new i learned today.. gonna try that out later

Posted by plankgatan
hhmmm...learn your camera...(nothing wrong with the camera)

find right light

DONT use auto...(maybe if you have perfect afternoon sunshine use auto..otherwize dont)

keep the phone steady

thats it.

@fullforce..no, thats very wrong...try then you see...(if you only zoom 2-4 clicks ON A close object..you gets good sharpness....i do)

i doooo hold it steady!
But if you zoom with a digital zoom you get lesser resolve in the shot. Hmm but i'll try almost anything once
And i know that one has to fiddle with the settings. But with my W800 and with my N73 you did'nt have to do that, that much. That's just a fact.
And if you get sharp shots by zoom- how is the resolve if you look at the shot when you blow it up in almost or completly full size?

Thanks! Well i guess my K700 is in okay shape. It's my backup phone. A good stable phone!

This one is okay but has fuzzy edges on the flower.
(macro, auto mode)

This one is fairly okay but not at all perfect.
(macro, auto mode)

Posted by soane28
pictures taken on auto certainly look inferior to pictures that use manual settings. Although the colour red still looks pinkish or faded compared to K800 red colours.

Posted by Supa_Fly
@fullforce that K700 is in awesome shape considering how old it is. What a breakthru that phone was. Largest on-board memory on a platform phone for almost 1 year.

Wait ... zoom on MACRO?! are you SERIOUS!

NOICE>

Are u all kidding me?

Just got my K850i and it takes really crappy pictures!!!!

I would like someone to write ALL the setting in the phone, so I can try to shot some nice pictures.

My pictures is nowhere near my old K800i pictures.

And its MILES away from all the nice photos on this thread.
