Well the reason for the pale shots is that you have to use the settings to get your preferred result. They are there to be used.
(referring to an earlier post here. Not to the nice shots recently posted)

and what are those settings??
give an example of a situation and the settings that should or should have been used
Posted by tai020381
Try either Daylight document mode OR cloudy document mode. The latter mode will produce darker and richer colours due to "cloudy" settings in the phone. Document will make your pictures look sharper, but applicable only in bright lit areas where sensor is able to catch ambient light, otherwise it will produce more jaggy edges and details lost.

Any advice would be most welcome as im going to see the dragon boat racing this sunday so thought i'd try and take some photo's

Plank I only want to remind you what you did when user chickm posted pictures in 'low-light' thread - you called them 'crap'. for sure chickm do not deserved for this. masada1971 did exactly the same thing what you did some time ago. wikipedia -> hypocrisy
cheers and that's all

1- I wrote ALMOST
2- Yes, the 1st isn't a great one. But in the second colours are all ok, no red turned into pink, sky is blue, very low purple fringe, good contrast...
3- Those were from my 3rd day using the phone
4- What about this you have taken? Lots of blurry
