Yes I edit photos with GIMP. I do not hide this fact. I normally put that fact in the post. I apologize for forgetting on this one. There is nothing wrong with tweaking a photo to make it look better. On this one I played with the levels and contrast, and added a vignette. Thanks for the compliments.

GIMP or any photo editor cannot take a crappy photo and save it. It must have good sharpness and resolution before it can be enhanced. Also, a good photo starts with a good composition, quality of camera is second in line to what you point it at.

Finally someone who says the truth and doesnt hide the truth like PlankGatan ... !

Please do not post false accusations if you do not know the fact, and peace out. This is a SE forum.

Plankaton - You do not need to respond to that assanine remark.

Plank has never been misleading with his photos.

I still don't understand this battle to prove the camera quality one way or another. Just look at the photos being posted here.

You either like what can be done with the phone, or you don't. I believe my photos show that with a little level tweaking in post-production, this phone can make some great if not amazing photos. If you hate or don't understand photo editors, and don't like the quality of the raw images, then you may not be as happy with the phone. Ask any photographer if they edit their photos, I can save you the time, yes - always. It is rare for even a high end camera to give you a perfect picture without editing.

Just because it is digital, doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to play with the processing, just as we did with film in the dark room.

Ugh, let's just look at pictures and shut up.

It would be cool if in Best Pic you could merge all frames into one gif on your phone. Especially for contact pictures.

Since this thread has too many pages (200+ of them), I haven't really seen any shots in which the environment is dimly lit, or dark.
Sooo... how's the quality of the pictures in the dark? and with the xenon flash?

Do you think it's better to just GET a cybershot camera for more AWESOME quality pictures, instead of relying on a k850i's cybershot camera?

'Cause i dont think that k850 could have done this, it's an awesome photo!

I SWEAR that plankgatan has a UIQ based K850i because I can NEVER get such great photos as him and have YET to see anyone get as close! Wicked photos as always and i SWEAR SE should put you on their marketing payroll.

@pohuman, Love the sunset photos ... I miss my grandma's place, we had a a view of the Caribbean Sea that had sunsets all year long! Brought back good memories to me on my birthday seeing that post. Many Thanks.

he he he. listen here. i have exactley the same K850 like everyone else (of course). just look at example Luci powers pictures (he use old 038 and i use new 037), his pictures is so super-duper-sharp with really good saturation.

everything depends to have some knowledge how to use cameras with minimum "hardware", and still get decent pictures, (especially K850 who have a sensitive camera).

have a nice day.

I agree. They are better than what i can do with my digicam. And that makes me a little skeptical as to whether these pics have been tackled with a little or not after they were taken.

????????????????some of guys surprise me over and over again.

(so suddenly, im the only person on Esato who get good pics ????? stop this charade and wake up.) have you guys seen Lucis or Perfect pictures, they are often better then my own pics....so they have some special K850 to ????? like i said, wake up and smell the reality.

i can give you a tip !

1.
learn something about photo technique

2.
then take your pictures

(it dosent mathers which cell phone you use, if you dont have any skills, you will get bad pictures even with a Hasselblad H3D-39 II !!!! (almost)
--------------------------------------------
--------------
ps. remember, i get also many bad pics like everyone else. but (of course), i post my good ones
