@plankgatan

Can u jus chart out the settings for the specific ambience you generally use for while talking photos with ur k850i..I play around with settings the resultant is 8 times out of 10 is good but still i lag a bit in it..so better to get some tips from expert of k850i like u. To say the least ur pics are of real high quality...Thanx in advance...

Posted by plankgatan
sure man.

allways use the light in a proper way, (example stand in the shadow and then point "at" the sunny object, cell phones cant handle strong brightness so good). the settings are NOT the major cause with good pictures, the photo-technique is way more important )

try also this settings; cloudy profile + document (EV -0.7)......allways have the stabilzer on.

you can also change to auto + cloudy profile (even its really sunny)

i found out that new 037 FW "liked" this settings very much

Hey man tat was real quick response,thanx again...wat is ur view on the ISO settings? i hav read in some photography article which says always keep the ISO to it lowest possible level ie., 100 in our case but in some settings the ISO is automatically set to auto..wat is ur go on this?

Posted by plankgatan
ISO.64 is with auto on K850... good enough

@ plankgatan
Document mode does cause the sky to be more white than blue (like on the 2nd pic?).
So when there's a sky involved, i never use document mode.

Posted by rockiran_25
What do you do for indoor pics and also for flash enabled pics? u maintain same cloudy profile...

Posted by rockiran_25
This is how i get with cloudy profile.

1. with flash

2.

seriously, use a REAL camera, even a 3MP camera has a better CCD than the K850i. Note the purple fringing on the cloudy-day photo below.

plankgatan really makes full use of the bright sunshine to get great looking photos!

Are they all Auto Mode?

Posted by that-guy
yea plankgatan, which setting do you use? allways auto + cloudy? or document mode, -0,7ev + cloudy?

Posted by rockiran_25
@plankgatan

Can you please mention the settings you use for the following conditions:
1: Indoor pics -- i use auto or macro based on the distance from the object+white balance->auto.
2: Outdoor pics -- focus-> infinite+whitebalance-> auto.

The problem with the outdoor pics even if i use cloudy profile is that it comes out blurr with a white haze on it.....Plz help.

uppdate your phone via EMMA by your local work shop. it might help you

and like i have mention many times before, settings is NOT the major point when you take pics with cell phones, the photo tehnique is way more important (light, light, light, light....................)

1)Definately too close even for a macro,with flash,
2)Focused on leaves further away but moved slightly to the nearer leave

Posted by plankgatan
whats firmware do you use, when i had old fw i couldnt sometimes focus on close objects.
(its little strange, leafs have a dark green color and dont reflect that much, so it should become sharp)

this toys is really small, but have good non reflection colors

its difficult to take pics on leafs, they moving around all time

Thanks Mige.

Just posted them as a comparison to k850 shots.

Was wondering if any one knew, whats the deal with firmware and branded phones? As in, if you updated a branded phone to new firmware, is it any different if updating a debraned phone? Same firmware or would the branded phone's firmware be different ie provider's firmware?

The K850 has some serious purple fringe issues. You'd think Sony would have that sorted out by now, seeing as they make quality cameras and all.
The sharpness is very very nice, however.
