i know, thats what i was thinking, you can see real bad fringing on mine, its weird.
For the palm tree one i used auto mode, no flash. daylight white setting. Because at the time it was kind of bright where i was.
On the old firmware i got shots like this with my K850......

now i just cant seem to get a nice low light shot. For me this is one of the reasons my next camera phone will not be a SE, im so tired of adjusting a million settings just to get the right pic. Its not even lik eits that easy either. Mine is always laggy and its really annoying.

I agree with you on that. I might wait for the infamous forthcoming fw to bring my decision. I don't know why it is so blurry. Mine, with just a bit of playing, gets quite good photos.

@DonJuan
Was your old firmware the -29 you mean? I will wait and see what this new firmware can do and if it doesn't rectify the java bug, and/or if it makes my music player worse in any aspect or if it makes my battery last less time, i will demand that they roll back my phone to the -29 firmware OR maybe just give me my money back because then i can really say that this is a faulty product. The -29 firmware worked okay on my phone...but barely okey. Would have liked them to trim the camera so that you, as you said, can take shots without fiddeling with the settings quite that much. If they refuse to roll back the firmware and the new firmware sucks...i might just demand my money back. But in theory, and hopefully in real life, this phone has everything i want at least for the whole of 2008. I was so happy when i read about this K850 that had what is was searching for: A good camera AND a walkman player!
SE: This will not do at all! GET YOUR S**T TOGHTER NOW!
This new firmware HAS to be a good one!

A lit three

yeah my old firmware was 029
you got a good shot there cus thats a hard shot especially not getting a light trail from the lights.
Here is a shot of my house here in vegas...

i think it could be so much better with the old firmware though

I have my K850 since Cristmas. There are some things what I don't like in the phone. It collects fingerprints really easy, so I have to clean the camera glass before almost any shot. The phone is crackling in my hand when I write a message, but I can say, I get used to it -if anybody can get used to something like this.

I can say untill now I don't like its pictures. I change the profiles, so mostly I could manage the colours. The main thing what I don't like in the pictures the lack of details. So -I dont know, but-I think in the ratio of it's resolution even my sisters W580 can produce these details and sharpness too. And my K750 can make much better pictures. With some more noise, but with a software (Noiseware for example) you can remove it, and after that I like much more the k750's pictures than the k850's.

Just here is an example.
A picture with the K850 (with twilight portrait profile)

And here is one with the K750. Just check the hair of the girl from the right side. I know that in the k750's picture are more niose, but more details too. So I think in this picture you can see the details too. The K850's picture is too "plain" in my opinion, and if you chek the details, -even with 3MP resolution- it looks like you were applied an explosion filter or frosted glass effect.

I don't know is due to the phisical size o the senzor, that it is too small, or the fault of the software. In this moment I'm waiting for a major camera software upgrade. I regreted that I decided to buy it, I could have wait a better phone (with cca. 3-5Mp camera, not more), but I have to stay with this for at least a year or 1,5.

Generally -and mostly when I watch my pictures at low resolution (for example at 600x800)- I can make good shots too.

Just take a look at this picture (document mode):

But look the details too! I cut a part in 100% from the original photo. I know this part is out of focus, but it should be blurry, or something like that, not to look as you applied a frosted glass effect...

@puestadelsol
It loooks, on the earlier two fotos, that you are doing something wrong with the settings or don't hold the camera still(witch is a absolute must at least for now) or that you have a faulty camera. If you look in this thread there are plenty af pics that are taken in simular circumstanses that are really good.

at the mall~

@ Plankatan

What setting was the brick building shot on, I looked at the full size photo and the quality is stunning. Are you using document mode and "cloudy setting"?

Posted by plankgatan
yeh, i know...that outdoor pic rules...
its shoot with the sun around the corner of the street, thats why the camera dosent get to much light (bleached colors, etc)..thats the whole trick you know, (you can use which settings you want nearly, the light is the most important "setting").

hehe!
Here's my exclusive and very beautyful contribution for this evening: Tadaa! My new dishwasher!!! And can't understand how i could live without it!
(yes i'm a guy)

(Poor light and i didn't use flash due to all the white colours in the motif, that's why the quality of the shot sucks)
