Another tip (yes it have been mentioned but i see that som nebies on this thread don't seem to know this) when taking a shot close or pretty close to a motif in poor light condition when using flash- use ISO 100. That way you get more real like colours and no "bleaching"!

Posted by DonJuan
so here are a couple example of the before and after with photoshop and a noise reducing software.

I had the settings on document like you guys said and i think the pics out of the camera are really bad to be honest...

before

after

so much noise you see in the first one, i understand photography and i really expect better for a 5mp phone

Posted by fullforce
I doubt that "document mode" really is the best to use when taking pics in landscape or portrait. I think i t might be because of that setting you get grainy shots. And don't you guys get macro setting always when using "document mode"?
@ DonJuan
Isee see you are always ready for halloween- you got your pumpkin head tucked away and easily accesable!

Thanks, Men jag är fortfarande inte rktigt nöjd över mina nattbilder, Det verkar som att stabilisatorn stängs av när man stänger av blixten :S

Posted by plankgatan
night pics is realy hard for a small cell phone sensor...........

if you want to take sharp night pics you realy need a strong light source to aim at...otherwise its nearly impossible.

something like this

night pics...no flash

indoor...no flash

Posted by Laxen
NICE pictures plankg... The indoor pics: Was all settings on auto and no flash?

Posted by plankgatan
document and EV -0.7.................no flash of course

thats why you get thicker colors and sharpness.

So here is a test:
Wich do you prefer?

All auto:

Document mode EV-0.7:

All auto EV-0.7:

I have a few ideas but i would like to hear what you guys say first.
(i know it's a bit hard to see details when the pics are cut down in size)

Posted by larry 68
The pic in Document setting is definately the sharpest, background clearer as is the lining of the basket and the lower lantern on the left,

Posted by vojta66
Document mode....of course...!!

Posted by davidsic
I prefer the picture taken with documents mode but the one in auto mode (the first) is also good in this case.

funny..took a same pic beside Hemköp on flowers some days ago...same settings..... doc and EV -0.7

document profile rules on close up indoor pics...BUT BUT not on larger areas...there i get better pics with auto actually.

@fullforce:

Can you do a test for me? adjust that "auto EV -0.7" pic for brightness with photoshop(or auto with photo DJ/photo fix) or upload full size and give me the link to test it myself. thanks.

Some really fantastic pictures on here

@george78 I would start buying your pizza's somwhere else Lol

Amazing pics in Prague, love that 2nd one .

Posted by fullforce
Well here's my thoughts about my thrre pics: I think that the first one is a bit to bright and i should have been using EV-3
The second one is still a bit too bright and i shouls have maybe used EV-1. Also i think that document mode gives more sharpness in the shots but at the cost of disturbance or grainyness.
The third one is too dark. Should have used only Ev-3
@sadeghi85
Here you go:

Autolevel in photo DJ
I had to resize it with 2% to get it to fit in this forum. Funny before i resized it it was about 2.2 Mb in size and after it was only about 0.85 Mb. But i guess that's how it works

@plankgatan
Aha but as you know i live in Linköping. As took the shot in the tiimari-shop i think. AND i hate plastic flowers!

Posted by sadeghi85
@fullforce:

simulating EV -0.3:

now it's better, not?

don't bother yourself, resize it to 800x600, esato automatically resized it to 800x600 and now its size is 97KB!

Posted by fullforce
@sadeghi85
hm i think i posted the wrong pic. You did ask for the one with all auto and EV-0.7 and then runned through photo DJ? Well here it is:

@darkmagician: beauttiful sunset shots !!!
