spot metering is useful for when you would like to take a picture of something where the camera may get confused with what its focusing on, here however you want everything in focus so there should be no confusion for the camera and infinite would be the best option.
Spot metering is also useful when taking a close up and there is natural light behind the subject you are taking the pic of, this way the camera concentrates on the intended subject not the entire picture, resulting in sharper more contrasted pics

im not saying how you should take your pics...i just think its funny to discuss this mather....see you
i mean something like this..here i got the colors like i wanted...

I prefer making macro shots, croatia is still adapting to his K850i and as you can see his pictures are getting better and better.
This is my old hard disk (all macro shots, spot, incandescent light source):
Metal cover 1:
Metal cover 2:
Disk itself (can you see the damage?):

Unfortunately croatia didn't have english in school. At that time german was only foreign language in our schools.
He is trying to imply that his photos lost their quality due to sending via MMS because he can't upload by himself and he doesn't use Photoshop to do some improvements.
Thats all.
If you look at his 1st pictures and the last ones there are noticable improvements in sharpness and setting adjustment.
The color loss is another bad thing about sending photos with MMS.

croatia........whats your problem ???????
ALL MY PICTURES FROM PAGE 75 AND BACKWARDS ARE SHRINKED IN PAINT, (NOTHING MORE) !!!!!!!!! (thats a lot of pics)....from page 76 and forward i use photo shop TO SHRINK WITH, (i have use auto level on some of my last pics...thats it...and if you look at the pictures whitout autolevel, you see they look very good)....if you bored at you own pictures, LEARN YOUR CAMERA.......
strange...they look good whitout autolevel and shrinked in Paint...very strange...(i have some hundred more if you like)
(you get it !!!!!!!!! )

Instead what i'm seeing is some kind of digital compression done by the camera software in order to hide the noise.
what you mean? "bad noise reduction algorithm" or "fuzzy edges caused by lossy jpeg compression"? compression hasn't any effect on hiding the noise.
The way pixels from one part of the image "spill over" into adjacent parts is usually from poor camera software, not from a poor sensor. Or perhaps it is the sensor
can you explain more(with pictures)?

Here, let me give you an example using the shots taken by Bhavv (since he was kind enough to post the full resolution shots)
This is his photo taken with flash reduced to 1024x768. It looks decent like this.
Now here is a small crop of the same image at 100% 5MP resolution. Notice the details, or lack of them? At full resolution, its almost difficult to tell what you are looking at. Its as if Vaseline was smeared over the lens. Look closely at the contrasting edges (the black wire running down across the X-Fi, for example) and you can see how the colors are "bleeding" into each other.
Perhaps i'm being nitpicky but I believe even the K750i took better pictures are full resolution than this.

off topic
croatia...you wanna here something odd...i have never, ever used colors settings in photo shop, (i even dont know how it works)...i have only use auto level on some of my latest pics......and if i should be truthful, i dont think the results becomes much better, (maybe little more lustre)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
on topic
think negative is a realy cool feature.....(taken with no flash)

Ok
although K850 compresses pictures more, i still think that sensor size is more important. T650 and K750 have smaller sensor than K850 but their resolution is just 2MP, so i think photosites in T650/K750 are bigger than K850 ones.(each pixel needs one photosite)
smaller photosites = more digital noise
i'm agree with you, T650/K750/K800 pics look better than K850 at full resolution.

so it was crazy foggy here today so i had to capture some of it, even a video. Remember i live in the desert so this is real rare.
Here is a shot in the rain on the way to work
This is a shot of the Paris hotel and Ballys, if you look at the sky its actually the fog with the lights reflecting off it. It looked amazing in person, if you look at the top of the paris its not blur from the camera its the fog over the top
this is Bills, kinda crap hotel but worth taking a pic of
and this is Ballys video sign board, its cool the way ot made the sky purple
Here is a video from my K850 of the fog in Vegas today, you can see where you cant even see the tops of the hotels.....

This is the problem with the K850i. Pics look good until you see them at 100%, so its your own eyes that improve the picture.
