Hi there!

Iīm from Spain and itīs the first time I post in the forum.
Iīm still waiting for the phone, because free is too expensive for me, and my company, Telefonica, doesnīt sell the phone yet, although itīs in the list.

Iīve seen all the pics youīve post, and I must say that these are the best phone pics Iīve ever seen!! Iīm really impressed! The sharpness, the colours, the xenon flash... I canīt wait more!!

There is a kind of pic that anyone hasnīt post... I remember in one of the reviews that there are FUN FRAMES? Has anybody try this option? You may think that itīs a silly question, but I like that. In my Nokia N70 I have a program called PhotoRite which does kind of thing.

Can anyone post a comment about it, or an example?

Thanks a lot, and greetings from Spain.

P.D.: great great forum

Hola!
Yes you have the option with frames in the K850. 10 different ones that you can ad afterwords.
Good luck with your K850!

Posted by MadRabbit
@DoctorHell,

There is 15 different frames in K850i... I don't know how many frames in the other brands.
Mine is Netherlands, PhoneCompany, debrand phone 029 firmware.

That's the beauty with photos shrunken to 0.5 megapixels.
Of course, if the photos were shown at full size, noone would ever make the same mistake.

I agree that K850 photos are very good, even at full size, but definitely not dSLR quality.

So why are the reds not red as Maccy D's sign should be ? And why is the sky so mauve looking ?

Red fringing on these types of pics is inherent in the K850 currently. Not good at all.

Your happy with your K805 - excellent. Many are not and many have moved like me to Nokia.

Just stop berating the N95 as it is a seriously marvellous device.

Posted by fullforce
Well i finally got my krusell case. And i tell you it was a wrestling match to get the phone in the case! The make the cases tooooo tight. The last krusell case i bought didn't fit my N73. And this one just barely fits. And i don't know but the flap or "hatch" on the back might disturb the light sensor...will try some more photos. Otherwise it feels good to finallyy get a proper protection for the phone!

Yes but don't forget that some nokia have a serious problem with red or others colours

Like this for exemple : Taken with my ex N95, picture not edited

@Plankgatan, That Mc Donald's pic is great...

The way I like to see it is as follows:

With SE I can mostly edit pics to my own taste quite easily...

@Abu, Dude thanks for the hue tip, I tried it for the first time in PSP and it worked great...

@davidsic

There is no way thats from the phone with no editing... sorry but the fringing on the flower heads is a real give away.

@fullforce

Great example of SE Purple Fringe Effect

The glass does look nice though.

Posted by fullforce
The so called fringing comes from the sun, anyway in this case.

But it should not be pink / purple. Its a bug / feature of the SE camera / lens. Its why many of Planktons pics are very red where they should be blue. Zoom into the sky and you will see far too many red pixels.

Posted by fullforce
Well i don't see a problem here. The light beams of the sun is just spreading/reflecting themselves over the motif. Maybe it would be a little tiny winy bit lesss purple...nah not a problem for me. If you look at the sun don't you get the feeling the the light is spread? or do you just see the sun itself? And remember : It's a cam in a phone!
My point is: There will be "fringing" it's natural. And the sunbeams consits of ,among other colours, purple. Maybe it shouldn't be quite as purple but it doesn't bother me much and it might be fixe in forth comming firmwares. And i think when taking shots straight towards the sun- you are asking for trouble.

What bothers me thogh is the fact that dust is emigrating in to the camerahousing! Grrr

My shot: Yes fringing but look at it as a whole! Nice! If i might say so
Auto everything

think the MC-picture looks amazing..(and no, its no major pink color in it...calibrate your screen or buy a better one..I have a good screen and there is no major pink when i look at it)...why nagg about a pic who end up nearly perfect ?????..

Klorin... nice indoor pic, (special the first one)

@DarKMaGiCiaN...cheers...think auto level just made it little lighter...otherwise it looks the same

He did, and I said its not straight from the phone like that.

@ Fullforce

Yes a pretty pic, but there should not be all that pink in there chap, it should be white or possibly yellowish.

Never said it was not a nice pic for a phone cam... but there is too much red in the sky created by the lens / plastic cover. It could also be software created too. Fullforce is seeing the same thing. Look in Photoshop / Aperture and you will se the red channel has far too much in the overall image. Sample the sky to see. Also zoom into the image and you will see too many red pixels.

My screen is plenty good enough, my system is also calibrated for design work at great expense. Regardless of any calibration, just look at the levels in any decent image app and you will see it.

Agree the pic looks even better when adjusted, but guess what, you removed the red and added more blue to the image to correct it You really shouldn't have to do this to this extent.

Even the N95 shows some colour variance, just not as much as the K850 does currently. I say currently as Nokia have had more time to develop and improve on the phones firmware.

If the issue is hardware based (lens/lens cover) then SE can compensate by applying a different colour table to the image before its compressed in order to increase the accuracy of the colour balance... just like has been done in PhoDJ in the phone.

I'm not criticising you, I'm criticising the phone - but you seem to think this is the same thing here

Lolz theres many buildings of this height in my country ^^ and this picture was taken after a bad drizzle. I used cloudy profile cas the skay was, well, cloudy xD Here's another one, also taken in cloudy mode:

Full Size:

Another taken in auto mode, stabilizer ON.

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/4290/dsc00834db0.jpg
Full Size:

Auto mode, Stabilizer OFF if I'm not wrong.

Full Size:
http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/8396/dsc00827xn6.jpg

In future I will try my best not to take picture using Stabilizer cas they tend to produce a red tint to the picture, also it tends to make the picture look a bit rougher. I prefer without stabilizer.

Posted by fullforce
Easy now lads! Yes there are purple fringing but we get differently disturbed about that. I hope SE will tweak this a bit in the forth coming firmware. No need to get into a poinless argument and take everything personal.
