Don't forget, ziphone will downgrade your bootloader, so if you have to take the phone back for exchange or repair, you'll need to install Bootneuter through installer, flash the bootloader back to 4.6, and then restore using iTunes. THEN you'll have a factory-fresh iPhone again.

The Vodafone Administrators seem to be giving settings for its customers who have unlocked iPhones,
and there saying watch this space basically it may come so do they know something we don't

I can't see 02 letting it go to be quite frank..

jus ad a look through some of the reports on the o2/apple agreement and it seems they have a 5yr deal for the iPhone....

i dont think this would cover the next versions only the initial iphone.... plus it seems in news as well on engadget that a german network has said it is going to stock the 3G iPhone (which apple and at&t have conf will be released sometime) without an agreement with apple and no revenue share or profit share±

Hi all

Having decided that a 8GB iPhone @£169 is to good an opportunity to pass up, i just have few questions.

Is ZiPhone the best and easiest to use in most peoples opinion? as all looks nice and simple on Modify My iPhone.

Is Outlook integration good? as that will be it's main use and this last one may seem like a silly question but i can i just use Data over WiFi?

If you've got a Mac, use Pawnage Tool, it's the safest way to jailbreak, and doesn't damage or change the bootloader.

Hi all

Thanks for the replies should be getting mine later when i wake up but realised i was looking at earlier versions of ZiPhone and realise now with version 3.0 it is all done for you.

Really looking forward to getting it home and setting it up sorry wasn't very clear about what i meant about using WiFi only for Data but realise now i just need to add Boossprefs to stop it using GRPS or EDGE.

Just trying to track down a Shure MCA-C3 which is an adapter and microphone for my Shure earphones.

Help please!!!!!

My iphone has gone weird!! Keep getting black and white lines and apple logo flashing! Have the home screen up now but nothing works I have original firmware and unlocked to vodafone. Not sure what to do or is it dead?

@Marc... wifi takes priority of edge/gprs on the iphone... you'll understand when you get it.

it will use itunes and pull calender data in.. so outlook should be fine.



need more details.. what did you do? it crashed you turned it back on and it went crazy? ust restore it and reunlock it...

I was putting a theme on the phone and it came up with error and just locked the screen. i turned it on and off again and know it is stuck on the home screen and none of the buttons work. I can turn it off and on again but it just freezes up.

So just do a restore and recover using ziphone?? which firmware do i upgrade too? I bought the phone of coxy which i believe you got for him amnesia and it is the same as when you sent it to him as i never upgraded it.

yes, ziphone has links to each firmware in its "help and info" so you can download it to your pc

here is 1.1.4

in itunes just hold the shift key while you press restore and you get a dialogue to select the file to restore

you don't need any program. on the phone, just go to settings > general > network and click EDGE and enter "internet" (no quotes) as the APN

Hi all,

Well i have officially joined the Club now got mine this afternoon but didn't do anything till about 22:00. All went fine and was easy with ZiPhone accept i still had 1.13 firmware and no installer or Z Blog icons.

So went to iTunes to upgrade and restore and then disaster struck at the end of the upgrade it said error and i was stuck in restore mode neither itunes or Ziphone and using downloaded 1.14 firmware would finish.

About one hour later and about 12 attempts it eventually did restore and upgrade and then just used ZiPhone again to unlock jailbrake and activate.

So as long as you don't a PANIC and keep on trying it does all work out in the end.

It is taking me a little while to get to grips with it all and the very different system, just want to ensure i don't end up with a huge Data bill when out of WiFi cover but i suppose as long as i don't have anything auto updating it should be fine. Or is some going to tell me that's wrong?

What i really can't believe is how smooth and fast it is and once i stop looking for a stylus it will be great. Think i still need to spend a few hours downloading the apps i want and setting it all up have already started shifting the icons i won't be using onto a second page.

Will let you all know in a couple of a days how i have 3G/HSDPA with mine well sort of i could get the speeds.

i havent found nethin that auto updates as long as the mail is set to check manually....

And u can always check data transfer amounts under settings and useage which is always handy like.

And i had a worry last night i installed the 'game' ants and it totally fooked ma iphone making me have to restore it and ziphone it again lol.

I ran ziphone last night after i restored and upgraded from 1.0.1 (the original firmware?) and it was running for about 15 mins and the white text had stopped scrolling on my iphone so had to stop it and restore again through itunes, but it worked all fine the second time round

My iphone is really fast now and am glad i updated to 1.1.4.

Marc if you are concerned just turn the data off at first to get the hang of things.. use bossprefs as you mentioned before to turn off edge... you'll know it's off cause it'll either prompt with a wifi network that's closeby or tell you "there is no edge connection available"
