Hiya folks, havent been on here for a while

So, I've got the black n73 music edition, and its on 3 (UK). Anyone know if i can flash it/debrand it, so I can get rid of all the 3 icons and the 3 firmware, WITHOUT voiding the warranty? Apparently there is a way to do it without voiding the warranty, but I dont know how!

And after doing this, does that mean the phones unlocked, and will work on any network sim?

Thanks

Hmm.. I think u linked me to the wrong thread mate

Posted by BobaFett
no, thats the right one. u just have to download the given link and change the product code ( its free ) that thread was pointed on n80, but the application support n73 too, u just have to use the n73 product code

Posted by RayZahT
so how would u change the product code back 2 normal so that the warranty doesnt become void?

Posted by BobaFett
when u changed once the code, upgrade it with nsu, then change the code to the old one back

Also, will I lose all the settings, such as mms and gprs?

And also, how do I find out what my product code is?

the product code is written on the sticker on the back cover ( under the batt )

So how do I know which product code to change it to? and version software do I download of NNS

Posted by BobaFett
here are the product codes

http://allaboutsymbian.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53992

take the one u need, write it in the box on nss, choose "wright" and its ready within secs. then just upgrade the fonw with nsu ( nokia.com ) and u have the wanted version

Thanks for the product codes

Now I need 2 find out if my one is really the music edition, or just the standard black version

u are welcome, mo its this one ( see above ) pls keep us updated when managed

Well, I eventually found out that my phone ISNT the music edition, its just the normal edition in black. So i changed the product code, upgraded the firmware, easy as. But when I went to restoring the back up I did using NPCS, the phone died. Wouldnt start up after showing the welcome screen

So, did the factory reset, and it worked! I may have lost a few applications that i had from 3, but who cares? I can probably find them on the net somewhere.

But this firmware is just crap. Slow response time, poor camera. Nokia screwed up big time, they need to get the bugs fixed on the next update, which i am waiting for

so u mean, this action was for nothing?

Posted by RayZahT
Well, it did get rid of the locked 3 firmware and menu icons which I hated.

Im sure when nokia releases the new firmware it will resolve the above problems. Its just a matter of waiting
