Oh my god! Something from Apple which is less expensive in the UK than the rest of Europe!!
399 Euro = 277.465 British Pounds according to oanda.com
So the iPhone will be £8 more expensive in Germany!!
Let's wait and see what their contracts come out at...

Phones generally are cheaper in the UK, then in Germany and the Netherlands.

I was referring to products from Apple generally, not phones in particular.

I just thought it was interesting that Apple were praising O2 so highly yesterday in their announcement but have chosen t-mobile for (at least) 4 EU countries and probably Orange for another

Do you not think by doing this that Apple are seeing which operator makes the best partner for their telecoms devices?

I dunno. I would think they would do their research first and stick with one operator across europe. I can understand that people in different countries have different preferences, and I can certainly understand them choosnigt-mobile in Germany since its owned by Deutsche Telekom which was the state owned telecoms company (and still partly is) and is the most recognisable telecoms company in Germany as they have high street shops which sell home phones, broadband etc etc
but logistically you'd think it would be easier to deal with one company right across Europe, especially as this is Apples first venture into mobile phones

Apparently they're trying to team up with the '"home" networks in the large european countries, i.e. the former landline operators, as is T-Mobile in Germany and Orange in France.
O2 is too small in Germany (smallest of four networks) and doesn't even exist in the Netherlands.
