I was told sometime weeks ago SE WM devices were a possibility, and now this appears...

As I have previously used, and am currently using both a HTC and an SE to get the best from both I can only hope this really happens
standing by for confirmation

I just read this, but on another site.
Very interesting news. I never would have expected something like this.
Can't wait to get more info. Both HTC and SE products are amazing, so a combined device should be incredible.
Could this be the P3? I assumed it would be another UIQ handset, but if SE really wants to set it apart from other offerings, another OS may make sense.

don't think so
it hasn'y been a year after
bought UIQ share (or whatever they bought)
and we still didn't see any big improvment in UIQ3 or a newer version from

Couldnt you use windows over the top of uiq would be good to have sliding keyboard or an se version of the touch smartphone

Honestly, although good news it makes me wonder what having 2 different Oerating systems across a product would do for its support. SE are having a hard time making decent Symbian devices let alone making WM side by side!

They've got a test model running WM.

I think its kinda smart from se, as they would then get the people who like WM aswell those who like UIQ

The statement says that SE are ordering HTC units. Doesn't that just mean that HTC units would just be branded as SE? would SE acually have any say in the design?

didnt htc mention a merger between themselves and se or making some sort of deal earlier this year

what a great reliable recourse ....
hahah
it's like believing everything mr bush sais .... what a joke

@David1975
I do.
There is a lot to be gained from these two coming together. They aren't exactly direct competitors at the moment and with HTC's smartphones meteoric rise coupled with SE's now growing feature phone market share they would make a good team.

yeah it would be great imagine the cool phones they could produce

HTC responds to the rumor that it will make Windows Mobile phones for Sony Ericsson (msmobiles article)

After the debacle over the P990 I suspect someone in SE management wants to 'put the fire' under the Symbian-centric Smartphone group. By now if SE had better management we would have many many SE Smartphones, given their pedigree based on the P800, P900 & P910. Gross mis-management of their Symbian IP and so now they have to turn to Windows Mobile to rescue them! Worst case scenario, the WM will be mainly for the US market and we can hopefully have the real successor to the P910.
