Film and Voice out of sync

I have a video that I have acquired on my pc and would like to put it onto dvd. The thing is the video and voice are out of sync. If I burn this film will this be rectified, or will it still be the same. Also, does anyone know how to sort this problem out.

sometimes during playback the audio and video may not sync due to limitations of your hardware, if this is the cause of the problem then it will be rectified when the video is converted to DVD.

However if the problem is actually in the video file itself and the audio track as not synchronized with the video track then the problem will persist in the DVD format. To fix this, you will need a video editing software like Sony Vegas, Adobe Premier, or iMovie / Final Cut Pro for Macintosh or something similar.
