Desperate iTunes Help - Esato archive

I just moved a lot of my music collection, and downloaded the new iTunes; anticipating it would do the 'first scan' and get every music file off my hard drive. But the library was still there, but with files missing (as I moved them as part of my re-shuffle).
I then deleted the library (not the files) hoping it would then give me the option. But it didn't.
So, how do I get every single music file on my computer in the iTunes library, fast?

Are you a Mac or PC user?

Is your music spread all over your hard disk(s) or kept neatly in an organised Music folder?

If you're on a Mac, just do a Spotlight search for MP3 /AAC files then drag 'n' drop them into the iTunes window.

If you're on a PC, I've no idea...
